My wife and I stayed here for a wedding being held at the hotel. Everything, including the business centre required you to pay for it. The room had no microwave, and we had to call the front desk for it.

We stayed at the wonderful Waldorf Astoria in Orlando, which is in a great location. The interior décor of the hotel is rather beautiful and the room that we stayed in was also beautiful and clean with very good overall facilities, the room was well decorated with a very comfortable bed, which meant we had no problems sleeping. The breakfast was of a very good standard with a varied option of a high quality food. The service was fine with some wonderful and helpful staff. Overall this was a very calm, relaxing and a very comfortable stay for me, my wife and my brother. Collapse

Let me start off by saying this place was amazing and is truly beautiful. BUT, there were two major issues and that's why I didn't give them an Excellent rating. My husband and I came to Disney World to celebrate our Anniversary and his Birthday. No matter how old we get this is still one of our favorite places to come to. Being an adult totally stinks and we love to feel like a kid again. We got there to unload the car, were greeted by really nice guys. They were extremely friendly and offered to do anything we needed. We need two carts for all of our stuff, so we needed two guys and they didnt have a problem with it at all. My husband had to go park the car and I was taken all the way up to room by a very nice gentlemen and explained to me where everything was complete with a map. I was let into my room and greeted with balloons, chocolate covered strawberries, and a bottle of champagne! We didnt ask for this so it was a great suprise! The room was huge. Table with 4 chairs, complete kitchen area with lots of storage, and in this same area were two closets. (Which obviously I seriously needed for all the crap I brought) huge living room with sofa, lounge chair and big TV. We had a view of the pool which was great and if you went on the balcony we could get a glimse of the fireworks. Bedroom was big too. Two night tables, TV, work area with chair and another closet! Last, my favorite part: the bathroom. large sink area, tub, and big shower. There is also a phone in the bathroom next to the toilet which I have always thought was weird. But hey, thats a plus for some people. Everywhere in the room was just a ton of storage. We then decided to go explore the hotel. The walls were perfect, the floor was perfect, everything was beautiful. (As you will see in the photos I've included in this review). Lobby included a bar, two shops ( one for this and that, and the other was a higher end purse store ). We walked over to the Hilton (they are connected) passed by an amazing Conference center. Very beautiful. But I must warn you if there is a Conference going on which there were two when I was there, they kinda take everything over. People everywhere, leaving trash everywhere, anywhere that serves food was just a disaster. If I stay again, I would want to know if a Conference was going on. The Hilton was a bit different, not as classic. There is a photo I included of 70's ladies on the ceiling. (kind of weird) But the one thing they did have which is now one of my favorite restaurants of all time was La Luce. If you don't go here, you are just missing out. Its not cheap though but a great meal is worth it. So here comes my first problem. It was hot and I mean hot in the room. I immediately mentioned it to the bellman guys and they got someone to adjust it later that night. Unfortunatley, the issue was never resolved my entire stay of 9 nights. The matter was mention a total of 3 times. Someone came up twice but the temp only cooled a few degrees. My husband gets very moody when its time to relax and sleep if it isnt cool in the room. So yeah, that was super fun. Now for my second and most important problem. THE BED. I will try not to go into too many details. However, if you like the feeling of springs up your back, down your hips, and even into our feet then this is the bed for you. We tried it for a few nights because we really do hate to complain. But after you have been in the parks all day, you need your rest, to sleep good. This never happened. We said something about this bed to the staff a total of 4 times. They kept responding back by: we can put a mattress pad on it. Which they did, 3 times. Why 3 times you ask? Becasue not one of them did a single thing to help. Then they said well we can move you to a different room. This would be a way small room! Why is that fair? I said no. Not even a discount to go along witht the downgrade. Our 5th or 6th night, I cant remember, we asked for a different mattress. Its a hotel so I assumed they had a spare mattress or two. Thank god they did. We were actually excited only to find out that night it was basically as horrible as the other one. We delt with it but in the 9 days we were there, we barely slept. We actually took turns sleeping on the roll out sofa. The thing cant support the weight of two people. So that part totally stunk. As far as housekeeping goes, overall they were great. Super nice ladies. If you have a little OCD like me, you could tell where there were some areas that don't usually get cleaned. Most of it was ok though. Nothing really gross. You can actually schedule when you'd like them to come and clean you room which was helpful. I think that about covers it. Overall if I had to choose: would I stay here again? I'd have to say no. Everything else was perfect except the bed. A bed is an important thing in a room. People need to sleep without springs in their back. I NEEDED TO SLEEP WITHOUT SPRINGS IN MY BACK!. We had no energy, felt a bit like zombies. Its worth it people to stay, I just cant do it again. Maybe others can get lucky and get a newer bed. Collapse

PROS - Excellent shuttle service for easy access to all the parks and also Disney springs, they also had buses pretty late into the night which were aligned to the Disney extra hours which could change on a day to day basis - Lovely large and well equipped gym with a view of the pool and grounds - Pool was very big and clean with comfortable loungers and snacks available to order - Service was polite and efficient - Disney view room was spacious with a good view of the pool and golf course - I think this hotel is a GREAT option if you want the disney magic close but not 24/7. After 3-4 quite busy days and evenings at the parks it was kind of nice to come back to this elegant, mature and classy environment. A good option for couples / maturer travels who do not want to be on a Disney property but still want all of the easy access (was never more than 10-15 min to any park or Disney Springs) Cons - I took the 'disney' view room, this is a little bit of a gimmick, the room had a lovely view of the pool and golf courses, but the fireworks are too far away to see. I wouldn't bother paying extra for that 'Squint and look sideways view of fireworks in the distance' - Bathroom was very small and basic - The spa was very overpriced, I think close to $170 for an hour CONS Collapse

This review is long overdue....we stayed at the Waldorf March 3-10, 2018. We have 4 kids age 4-8 and the suite with 2 queen beds and a pullout sofa bed in the living room was a perfect fit for us. Can even watch the Disney fireworks from the windows! We love this hotel for its tranquil beauty, lack of hustle and bustle, great pools, being kid-friendly, food options, and the service. The service we received was unparalleled. We were able to communicate with guest services by text message. One evening we were out at a restaurant and needed a taxi. I messaged the desk to see if they could help, and with no problem they arranged a van to come and collect us. We received several "checking-in" messages during our stay to ensure everything was going well. Also used this access to help secure dining reservations. So convenient, and all reps had a can-do, positive attitude which was very much appreciated. This crew at the front desk deserves a strong commendation, as they treated us like family and really couldn't have been more welcoming or accommodating! The pool is well-suited to kids, with a zero-grade entry so they can walk into a comfortable depth. It is large, and was never crowded. The pool bar has the best nachos/guacamole.... The Hilton pool has a small waterslide and a lazy river- the kids loved the slide. The pool was a bit more crowded here, but had a fun atmosphere. There are lots of restaurants between the Waldorf and the adjacent Hilton. Our favorite was La Luce (reviewed separately). We dined there twice during this stay with a party of 11 (7 young kids!). Food, wine and service was excellent and would go back there for dinner in a second. We stayed here a couple of years ago as well for a family Disney vacation, and if anything the experience was even better this time. Would definitely stay here again! Collapse
