Stayed for 2 nights at this establishment which is located close to the city center and several attractions (museums, riding school, St. Stephen's cathedral etc.). Hotel appears newly re-furbished - the lobby and the rooms look new and clean and the common areas are well maintained. Staff at the front desk were professional, warm and helpful. However, every time I cared to visit for assistance required a 5-10 minute wait. This suggests they may need more staff during peak hours to help with check-in/outs and concierge support. I should however note that on one occasion, a floating manager came by to help after the wait extended past 10 minutes. Room is nicely decorated and adorned with the fixtures expected of the hotel chain. I especially like the availability of multiple power outlets throughout the room - but encouragement is to use "universal" outlets as opposed to European (for visitors from afar). Layout of the room and bathroom and lighting in the room are also standard (good). Less than 5 stars rating is due to poor performance of the wifi that did not work with VPN connections. Breakfast at the restaurant was also expensive (32 Euro) for very standard fare. I cannot reconcile how I can eat a wonderful tafelspitz dinner for 24 Euro and need to pay 32 Euro for eggs and bacon! During my stay, the weather was warm (78 F) but the hotel had yet to turn on their air conditioning, which made sleeping challenging for this visitor. Overall, barring the above critique, I enjoyed this hotel based on the nice decor and professionalism of the staff. Collapse

The Vienne Marriot is an exceptional ‘old world’ hotel located next to the Stadt Park in the center of the city. A 10’ walk to the historic St. Peter’s baroque Church with organ concerts. Also very close to the Winter palace of Prince Eugene – also a pedestrian zone with major international brands mixed with local shops and cafes The hotel staff were multi lingual, and receptionist Oscar from Mexico City was particularly helpful. The rooms were well appointed, with modern bathroom features and appliances. A 5-star experience with reasonable prices. Collapse

Stayed here for one night in Vienna. Great location, the rooms were big and comfortable, massive TV, had all the amenities I was looking for. Although we checked in early and understand having to wait until check in time, fortunately our rooms were ready for us when we arrived. The staff were so friendly, every staff member greeted us with a smile and hello and made us feel welcome. Could not fault a thing. Will stay there again on my return to Vienna. Collapse

We did not have a reservation at this hotel. We were supposed to stay at one of the two Renaissance hotels. We were not impressed at all by the way we were greeted and we found out that the hotel did not have a Conierge or Executive Lounge. I then found out that it is a Renaissance franchise which explained why it was not up to the standard we expect. When I made the reservation on the Marriott toll-free line I was told it had an Exec Lounge. Due to the misunderstanding we switched to the Marriott and were grateful there was room for us. The location of the Marriott is perfect — in the center of Vienna, across the street from a park and on the outer ring and just a 10-minute walk from the center of the city. We were warmly greeted by two Marriott staff, Manuel Bauer and Christoph Prandstatter. We explained what happened at the other hotel and they calmed us down and checked us in. Their supervisor helped us too. In particular, he told me that as a Platinum member that due to the misunderstanding that I should be able to cancel the reservation at the Renaissance even though I had already checked in on the mobile app. After about 10 minutes the Renaissance finally relented and agreed to the cancellation with no charge. The room was a very nice size and quite comfortable with a nice view. I think it was recently renovated. The bed was extremely comfortable and the headboard was a firm softness that was unusual and also very comfortable when I leaned my head against it. The bathroom was very nice, but not very large. Good water pressure in the shower and very comfortable toilet seat. The entire room was handicap accessible. If you would like a chair for the shower, just ask for it. The hotel has an M Club for the Platinum and Gold members. The food was consistently good for the 3 days that we were there. One evening they served asparagus lasagne which we had never tasted before. It was delicious!! There was always more than one main dish so there was always something we liked in addition to many choices of alcohol. I want to give a loud shout out to the Asian gentleman who was the lone staff member assigned to the room in the late afternoon. He set up the room and was in constant motion the entire time we were there. Either he was replenishing the food or clearing dishes to make room for other Marriott members. He was amazing! The room was also very pleasant and just up the steps is a lovely outdoor porch. The gym at the hotel is very nice. The room is fairly small but lots of machines and free weights. It is one of the better ones I have seen. Collapse

The Vienna Marriott couldn't be nicer. We received a very warm greeting, even being offered sparkling wine on check-in. The rooms are large, very clean and modern. The bathrooms are la nice size with good plumbing, two sinks, a large counter and a washlet attached to the toilet. The breakfast buffet is delicious with excellent, friendly service. We had access to the club which had nice wines, evening "snacks" enough for dinner if one chooses, and again very friendly service. Lastly, the hotel is very well located on the Ringstrasse, near the Opera and Albertinaplatz. It is easy walking distance from the airport train that comes into the Wien Mitte railroad station.. I would definitely stay at the Vienna Marriott on my next trip to Vienna. Collapse
