An amazing place to stay, with so much History. A complimentary Ghost tour is included, The Castles Ghost is the Green Lady...spoookkkyyy. Lovely decor and the rooms are so spacious, even the smallest room in which we stayed in. Breaky in bed if desired. Very friendly staff, although in need of Table waiting training. Our waitress forgot the Napkins - then the pepper and salt. We then had to call her back to ask for the bread and the mustard. This should had all been asked at the beginning of our order. Our waitress was taking to her colleagues about her trip to Benidorm, in which we were happy to hear. However a little more concentration on the guests! This is an EXCELLENT place to stay - just so amazing - The food is amazing. Collapse

We had no idea where we were going to stay the night and happened to be driving through Dingwall and followed the signs to the Tulloch Castle Hotel. What a delightful find this was. We were pleasantly surprised to find a twin room available for a Friday and Saturday for only 80 pounds. The room (third floor, no lift) was so charming and comfortable! We had a beautiful view out over the valley, a very comfortable love seat, desk and well appointed en suite bathroom. The bar was a delight and Graham the bartender was terrific. We ate both nights in the bar rather than the dining room. The bar menu is quite varied and the atmosphere just right. There are walking paths just off the hotel grounds for a lovely evening stroll. Breakfast was included and I'm sure it was delicious but we didn't avail ourselves of the full Scottish, opting for the cold breakfast buffet. The only downside was the measly water pressure in the shower. It was really awful, barely able to shower. I understand that most of the other rooms are quite large with antique four-poster beds--but for a much steeper price. The castle itself was fabulous--full of antiques. The front reception had a big fire around which were arrayed a variety of overstuffed chairs and sofas. I heard there was a ghost tour every evening and the room next to ours was supposedly one in which people have reported seeing ghosts. We didn't and slept very well. Collapse

Our first impressions of this place were not good as you drive through a housing estate to reach it. The reception and lounge area need an urgent refurb and there is no attention to detail - there was a vase of dead daffodils in the lounge area and looking into the staff office behind the reception desk was like looking into Steptoe’s Yard! (A junk yard for those who didn’t watch Steptoe and Son in the 1960’s!) The suite we had booked didn’t look like those we had seen on the website so we asked for a better one. Fortunately they had one free and moved us without any trouble to a larger, lighter room. But not one picture on the walls and two large radiators that you can’t adjust - they are on the hotel system and can’t be altered individually. But we were told we could use a small fan heater if we were cold! So at 6pm we decided to go to the bar/restaurant for a drink - nothing really wrong with the bar and tables but seemed odd to us that the condiments were Christmas design condiments at the end of April! Lack of attention to detail again. Then at 7.30 we went to the main restaurant for an evening meal only to be offered two slightly different menus - my wife’s had pheasant whilst mine had chicken, hers had salmon risotto whilst mine had salmon, sautéed potatoes and spinach - when asked they soon sorted out the menus. The wine was put on the table but not opened for us and neither were we asked if we wanted to taste it. Then I found a black hair in my food! They offered to take the meal off the bill without hesitation. So the evening meal did nothing to improve our view of this place although the food itself wasn’t at all bad. Overall this seemed to us like a badly run place that is in need of money spent on it and some TLC. We wouldn’t recommend to others or visit again. We paid £200 a night incl VAT and dinner and breakfast included. It was the least expensive of the 6 hotels we stayed in on our NC 500 trip but we would have preferred to pay more and have higher standards. Collapse
