Just returned from a 4 night stay at treacys. We'd a great time again and so did our children. We'd a room in block b which was lovely and cosy . Our children loved the soft play area . We've visited treacys for years and it's the best hotel for children . The only negative would be the menu in bar. Although the food is delicious we personally preferred the menu from a few years back with more snacks such as wings , tacos and curry chips. Big thanks to Marian. I hope the hotel realise how much of an asset Marian is. She goes out of her way to please everyone and is so professional. See you soon ,Jennifer , Katie and family . Collapse
The Hotel itself is fine and staff are friendly and overall very nice. HOWEVER

Booked got a good deal 1 Adult and 1 Child - as kids club and pool so good for us.On first sight of hotel we both very disappointed just didn't look great , no idea where to park so parked in car park across the rd, €1.60 an hour !! Went to check in staff busy but very nice room not ready till 3 so given directions to off site parking brought our bags in and off to park- about 8 min walk multi story for aldi. Again fine thankfully not raining. Went to bar for lunch while waiting for room, Games room for kids at rear of bar- looked great in photos, reality was it was filthy the rubber mats on the floor were manky and it had a underlying smell of urine also small and sofplay area a lot broken in it. Sat at the bar ordered food Goujons and chips and toasted sandwich fanta and bottle of beer- €23 ! kids meal delish and he very happy toasted sandwich flat little filling and ham processed and perhaps should have been used by day before- but fine presentation was great though. I was a bit suprised to be asked to pay before food arrived and a little gruffly too boot.Room fine little small 2 single beds Mine grand little ones was very springy and in my opinion bit past it- Room very clean and nicely presented. Went off exploring down to leisure center to have a look- the 2 girls on busy chatting to each other and seemed a bit put out to be interrupted asked to see the area and told to look thru the window from reception as we'd get wet if we passed that area. Told to bring our keycard and hats if we hadn't hats then can buy them for €2 then went back to their chat. So we went to the kids games room - Total bedlam loads of kids running about screaming , parents sitting drinking pints with luggage all round them , my son went into make friends and got punched in the head by a child - said we try out the kids club seems to be a large bedroom with tables in it - it was full ! sign on door to that effect.went back to the bar after a while he made a few friends and played happily till was pushed shoved and excluded by gang of cousins~ parents still drinking - luggage gone at this stage. and so it went on Seemed to be very rough element staying - Anyhow the hotel itself is very nice could do with updating stairs carpet filthy , Our door did not close properly came back on day 2 room made up very nicely but door left open- Thankfully nothing stolen .I do understand that the hotel can not vet guests pre booking however having a kids play area at the back of the bar is not exactly great - back end of bar is like 2nd class citizens area - Bar staff are very good with the kids and patient for the most part ( except for the snarly one with the beard) front end of bar very pleasant and cant hear the kids . I also understand that the games room is unsupervised play area , however I did not wish to approach the parents of the child who was beating my kid up unprovoked as they had been drinking all day and really couldn't see any fault with their child. I ws also taken aback at the bar prices bit high I thought. I respectfully suggest that the kids play room is cleaned up and perhaps relocated even if it means parents pay a minimal fee for supervision.Bottom line Not an enjoyable experience at all , and never again, Did look at their website for reviews, funnily enough No Bad ones. I am sorry if I am being unfair to this hotel but it really was a terrible holiday for us I wanted to check out after an hour. I was surprised that I slept well on both nights despite being in a room that was roadside I didn't hear traffic Collapse

Stayed here for two nights and really enjoyed my stay. We arrived early on Tuesday morning around 12 and were told our room was ready if we wanted it which was convenient. Nice food in all departments from breakfast-barfood. A lack of experience/slowness showing by some of the bar staff and no music on in bar during the day creating a dead atmosphere dropped points. All in all a nice hotel in a good location. Would stay again. Collapse
It's nice but needs few things doing to it to make it a 5

Stayed here early August nice looking Hotel lovely charm to the bar area. It's great Hotel for families as there is area kids can play in at the back of the bar area. Menu for hot food is good at few more options wouldn't go astray. One of the things that needs to improve is the sandwiches part of the menu we had a few over the days we were there and they were bland and all toasted sandwich looked very bad really squashed thin. the rooms were nice size for all of us but they really need to Check the mattresses in the rooms the ones we had were bad and my side had springs sticking through and there was dips in them. The other thing that I would recommend look at is the shower curtains when your in they draw in and start sticking to your body just annoying. Overall a nice Hotel would stay again Collapse
