Really good location, a bit away from the centre of city but next to train/metro station and close to Magic Fountain and good amenities - useful supermarket 3 minutes away. Very simple train ride from airport. Amazing breakfasts, so much choice and 360 degree view of whole city from 23rd floor restaurant . One small blip - hotel was unaware that I had paid for room upgrade at time of booking so this led to a bit of a fluster (them not me!) when we checked in. Collapse

Previously stayed at the Gran Torre 3 years ago around September and first things off I can say they had been a difference a real big difference in the decor , service and overall experience . I always choose this hotel for the size of the rooms you really don't get hotel rooms this size and that is all the room category's this hotel provides . Most Europeans rooms are boxes, I stayed in the suite which are located higher up , last time I came I was on the 21st floor this time around I was on the 17th views were still magnificent . Got to the hotel around 2:30pm and are room was more ready by the staff in the check in desk took our bags while we wonder around the area. I didn't get a private check in as it was stated I would get for this room category but I'm not fussed. I love the area the hotel is located yes is not centred in the las rambles area etc but due to sants station it has very very good transport links. Getting around was easy and I loved the hop on and hop off bus had a stop a min away from the hotel . The suite itself was lovely you have a guest toilet in the sitting area along with the lounge sofas minibar tv etc . Bedroom has one of the biggest beds it was a girls trip and 3 of us in total fit on the bed without ever bumping into each other when sleeping . Bed is comfortable I believe it is memory foam, so if you like a firm bed it might not be too your taste . The bathroom has a big walk in shower and bathtub his and her sinks and a lovely toilet with a view looking around the surrounding area. I could immediately see the changes with furniture , no longer the box TVs I once saw in 2014 , sofa was more comfortable and converted into a sofa bed . Fresh painted walls etc . It was a joy to stay in the suite again . I really must give a big shout to Alex I forgot his surname but was always at the loby by the checkin desk. He was wonderful service was 10/10. He was always on hand to help , our shower head broke during our 10 day stay and within 2 hours we had a repairman come and fix it. Our room was always cleaned everyday twice a day we would get lovely turn down service with greeting cards waiting for us and cupcakes on some drinks on ice these little things were so lovely. I no without a doubt whenever ever I do come back to Barcelona I will be staying here again location is perfect direct access to the airport and you can use your T10 on refrene line to the airport . Employees will go above and beyond and check if your ok and enjoying your stay. Don't really have anything negative to say . You will Enjoy your stay here Collapse

Well placed if you don't want to be right in the centre of town, next to train and tube stations. Free access to outdoor pool in adjacent Expo Hotel run by the same company. Breakfast very expensive @ 40 Euro per couple, we went next door to the Expo where a good breakfast was a lesser 24 Euro for 2. Staff very good, especially with children. Sensed a slight reluctance from staff to recommend local restaurants, preferring to always suggest 'the best' even if this wasn't our request. But very good - would stay again! Collapse

Just returned from a weeks stay here. On arrival we were checked in by Laurel who was extremely helpful and friendly. Room was spacious and clean, with plenty of complementarity toiletries and the views from the 18th floor were amazing. Breakfast was good but in my opinion it wasn't worth €16 each per day and there's plenty of places around to eat at around the area. Be aware that theres a €10 charge to use the indoor pool and facilities which I'd not seen in any paperwork before hand. The Bar Tender was very friendly and encouraged our daughter with her Spanish. Excellent links to all major sights using the T10 metro tickets. Would recommend booking tickets before arriving at tourist attractions to avoid wasting time queuing. At night it was rather noisy as the corridors are tiled and the doors are heavy, so bang when guests are entering/leaving- you can also hear road noise but bare in mind this hotel is on a main road. Overal a pleasant stay, would recommend. Collapse

Overall, I would recommend this hotel to the visitors coming to Barcelona. It's 3 minutes walking distance to the Barcelona sant train and metro station. Very convenient to get to/ from the BCN airport. Most of frontdesk staffs are helpful and hospitality except the guy at day shift on 11/08/2017. He is very rude and impolite! As working at the front end personnel, he should have done much better for his service instead giving the attitude. He didn't accept the any comments for his unprofessional way of service and just complained and yelled out loud in front of other customers. The customers should not get treated differently by their nationalities! Collapse

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Catalunya for four nights towards the end of May this year. The hotel is very easy to get to from the airport. There is a train direct from the airport to Barcelona Sants Railway Station and the Hotel is opposite the Barcelona Sants Railway Station and Metro. A single ticket from the Airport costs 2.15 Euros. However, a T10 Ticket, which gives you ten rides on trains, metro and buses cost 9.95 Euros and is much better value even if you are only staying for a couple of days. The hotel is also very convenient for getting into the city centre, using the Metro and the “Hop On and Hop Off” Tourist Bus, which stops opposite the Hotel. The Hotel is four star rated and our room was very spacious. We had an ensuite bathroom with a bath, with an over bath shower and a separate large wet room shower. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. There is a Concierge on the top floor beside the restaurant. The Concierge is a nice young woman who was exceptionally helpful. She was able to book tickets for us for the Tourist “Hop On Hop Off” Bus, The Sagrada Familia and Park Guell. She spent a lot of time booking these tickets and getting us a discount. We ate in the Hotel Restaurant on the first night. The Restaurant is on the top floor and we had a window seating looking over Barcelona towards the Olympic Park The meal was excellent, but it was quite expensive, especially the wine which was about £25.00! Overall the hotel was a good place to stay and we would recommend this hotel for the location, the excellent staff and the large room with good views. We booked direct with the hotel on the internet and paid in advance and benefitted from a 25% discount. The four night stay in a “Comfort Room” was 554.40 Euros. When we were booking we looked at booking through hotel booking sites and found that booking direct with the hotel was much cheaper. Collapse
