This is a lovely hotel with lovely staff situated in the perfect place. Everything is only a walk away including st marks square, it takes around 15 minutes to walk. Restaurants, co-op, pharmacy, cafes all a few minutes away. Staff were lovely and friendly. We had breakfast included, pretty slim pickings but what can you expect for a cheap 3 day get away. Toast, jams, meats, tea coffee, croissants, yogurt and cheese, enough to fill up on. Would definitely come back again! Collapse

It was our first visit to Venice. It definitely will not be the last! We booked the hotel through a travel agent. We stayed in a building separate to the reception. Our room was down a narrow alleyway and up a couple of flights of stairs. The hotel is due a refurbishment in my opinion. I expected it from reading other reviews but as we hadn’t paid lots we didn’t mind. Our only grumble was the last night we were there we couldn’t sleep as we had a snorer next door! The walls are thin but again I expected this and preferred to spend a larger portion of our budget outside of our room. The breakfast is adequate. Typical European breakfast which is what I would expect. Friendly staff who were helpful with any enquiries we had. The hotel was quite a long hike with luggage from St. Lucia station. I wouldn’t consider using the water taxi as we were quoted 60 euros up In summary, a clean budget hotel very near to all the sights and transport links. A good base to visit Verona,Burano,Murano etc Collapse

We've just returned from a week in Venice based at the Tintoretto. The staff members were all very warm and helpful (and even put up with my attempts to speak Italian:-) ) The room we had was really nice, cleaned daily, and I guess a a dirty English bloke, I'd expect the bedding to be changed before we arrived and again when we left, not at all mid week as well. Towels were changed as is the norm now, when you drop them in the shower, on the rack they stay.....nope, the first two days we had the same towels, but then they appear to have been changed daily. The location couldn't have been better, close to great bars and restaurants (avoid Old Wild West though) close to the main tourist attractions and also close to many that tourists really should make more effort to find, the Ghetto for just one. Thank you to all at Hotel Tintoretto, I'd love to return and this hotel is top of the list. Collapse
Affordable hotel in excellent location but we probably had the worst room!

Just returned from 4 nights trip - just me with my daughter as an 18th birthday celebration. Whilst not expecting luxury, we were disappointed with our tiny double room (see photo) with pretty shabby decor. Breakfast included was a bonus but as per other reviews there was limited choice and no fresh fruit - there's a local Co-op so I was able to supplement my vitamin intake from fruit purchased there! Wifi also pretty intermittent and could hardly ever connect in our room which was in an "annex" across the road. All that aside, it was very clean, in a great location (just one other downside was the cocktail bar playing loud music from the street on Saturday night). We had a great stay and never intended to spend too much time in the hotel - but for a special celebration it was a shame we ended up with a rubbish room! Collapse

Just returned from a 4 night stay at Hotel Tintoretto. The location of the hotel is great and we found it easy to walk to everywhere we wanted to go. About a 20 minute walk from the Santa Lucia train station and P.le Roma bus station. It’s also really close to the San Marcuola stop where you can get vaporetto line 1- handy if you don’t fancy walking! I found the staff very friendly- one male receptionist was particularly friendly. Breakfast was good; not that much choice but still sufficient and included in the room rate so we really can’t complain! The cleaning service was fantastic, rooms cleaned every day and I have to say; I was very impressed with how tidy the room was very evening when we returned despite the untidy state we usually left it in in the morning! Towels are changed when needed. The one thing I wasn’t impressed with was the bed- I thought the mattress was really hard and uncomfortable, and I found it very difficult to sleep on! I haven’t seen anybody else mention this in reviews; so I don’t know if this was just our room (or perhaps I’m just being fussy) but we both felt that it was an extremely hard mattress and very uncomfortable! Apart from the bed the room itself was very nice- spacious with really nice decor. I thought it looked very authentic and Venetian! One more recommendation I would make to the staff would be the possibility of tea/coffee making facilities in the room. I always think that this is a nice touch in a hotel and quite missed not having it on this trip! However, all in all, we had a pleasant stay and were impressed with the value for money. Would recommend Hotel Tintoretto to those who want a centrally located hotel in Venice at a very affordable price! Collapse
