Shop around the internet and a good deal is usually available. We used this trip to visit the Gower and a cousin in Burryport. The satnav took us on a wonderful back-road route to the end of the Gower peninsula. Gower potatoes were in season as was Gower cauliflower, so we took some home from the wonderful old fashioned Swansea market and they were brilliant. The break at the Marriott also included breakfast of the all you can eat variety. It was an excellent value breakfast. Collapse

Went here for a one night stay on Saturday. Rooms were meant to be ready at 3pm but were not. The reason given was that the Chelsea Football Team had stayed there the previous night. As a customer, I didn't really feel this was my problem or a valid excuse. I was not told at the time of booking that rooms would not be ready on time and was not offered a reduction in price for this. In the event, the rooms were ready by 4pm so we were able to get ready before going to the football game ourselves. The staff were very apologetic and by way of compensation we were given a drinks voucher each. When we did enter the corridor it was fall of dirty linen and used food plates and we had to step around these with our luggage - not a good experience. We paid £169 for one room including breakfast. This is double the price that we usually pay for a fairly basic room, which was a little dated and tired. No complimentary bottle of water. And an empty space where the fridge should be. The complimentary toiletries are a nice touch. We arrived back in the room at 8pm to find a "happy 21st birthday decorated plate and 2 chilled bottles of Bud - not ours so I phoned the reception to have it taken to the rightful person - the member of staff said they were rushing to get things done! Clearly they did not have enough staff to cope with the situation. The breakfast was good with eggs being cooked freshly to order. And you pay £3 for WiFI unless you are a Marriott rewards member! My husband, two children and I stayed in the Swansea Marriott over the weekend. We stayed in room 218 which had two double beds over looking the marina. The hotel itself is right by the beach which the children loved and about a 15 minute walk to Swansea town centre. The hotel itself is quite dated and there was quite a lot of dust in the bedroom ceiling, hence I have not given a higher rating. However, the staff are really friendly and breakfast was excellent. Service towards to our children were excellent too, they were given a colouring pack and were sent warm milk and cookies before bedtime which was a really nice gesture. Collapse

Considering its a 4 Star the room felt dirty and had a musky damp smell. Unable to open the window due to the handles being removed. Suppose to be a marina view as can see its there with some obstructions. Nets are black should be white, marks on walls. Shower was warm no heat even on full. The place is no better than a travel lodge just twice the price. Very disappointed. Will not return. Collapse
