The hotel was very good, room was quiet but dark because there was a large tree outside the window. However, our Australian relatives had a much nicer, bright room. The staff were all friendly and courteous. Breakfast was a buffet, help yourself, which was excellent, staff attentive but forgot that we had ordered scrambled eggs one morning, so we had to wait for this when others had finished their breakfast, but staff were apologetic about this. We had dinner included on both nights as part of the deal; table d'hote menu was not extensive and the same on both nights. We could choose from a la carte menu for additional cost. As not all of us had the three course table d'hote meal, there were no additional charges for the a la carte choices. The hotel was in an ideal situation for visiting the Cotswolds with our Australian relatives and we would not hesitate to visit again. Collapse

We went to the Stonehouse Court hotel on sunday for lunch ...... what a lovely hotel . When we arrived we were welcomed by a member of staff .We sat in the sun terrace and had drinks in the sun . The staff were very polite and our drinks were bought to us at our table . When we went to the restaurant for lunch we were shown to our table by a lovely young lady and nothing seemed to much trouble to accommodate us .The meal was very nice and service was very good and we didn't have to wait long to be served .This hotel has the most amazing views and lots of history... well worth the visit Collapse

After an evening's stroll along the canal my friend and I went to Stonehouse Court for a snack and drinks. Michael the bar manager and his staff Karen and Sophie were very welcoming and friendly. We ordered cocktails and chips and were given dishes of delicious olives as nibbles. We were entertained by the girls having lessons in cocktail making, giving us lots of tips to try ourselves at home. The atmosphere was perfect for a summer evenings outing and we will definitely return very soon. Collapse

despite being by a main road the hotel is idyllic. The rear views are very tranquil. overlooking the Stroud canal and countryside. Unfortunately there was a very noisy wedding party there when we stayed which did spoil the ambiance of the hotel. We had a garden room which was very nice, although the first thing i saw when we entered the room was the amount of cobwebs and grass spiders. The net curtain fell down when we opened the window so not off to a good start. The bathroom was a good size and once we worked out how to use the showers they were very good. Tea and coffee making facilities were in the wardrobe which didn't smell very good so put us off using them. There was also very limited options to put the kettle due to the lead being very short. Evening meal was good. although i had been in touch with the hotel a few weeks prior to our stay regarding dietary requirements. I had re ordered my desert. Sadly there was a break down in communication and therefore the desert was not made. Extremely disappointed. the waitress couldn't apologise enough and took 10% off the bill. This hotel could be great with just some small tweaks. A duster is a must. The staff were very good, friendly and helpful . Collapse

Absoloutly beautiful hotel the main hotel and grounds are astounding However the service was shocking the very young juvenile waiting staff were rude and obnoxious to say the least when asking for cutlery and where I get it from ie Kitchen was told “ what do you want the kitchen for “ I said I’ve been waiting fifteen minutes for cutlery she bounced off .. yet another ten minutes wait finally I have a fork !! Food gone cold st this point The room we booked was not the room we were given we were give. An Annex room not what we booked then we were told it’s £30 upgrade Ru serious receptionist tried to deflect and pass the blame to booking.com Breakfast was poor quality food cheap and horrible they had no tomato sauce really a hotel out of sauce at breakfast how embarrassing for You !!! Wedding going on completely took over hotel we were merely paying guests yet received the most appalling service Never recommend unless the management get mature staff not Children who behave as such The bar man made a Pimms it was totally laughable !!! I’d be embarrassed to serve this to anyone no fruit no mint no stirrer just a lump of apple what the .. it made me cringe when I saw it Collapse

Went here for a family wedding, had a mess up with rooms even though it was booked early my mum had to move rooms three times as she needed a disabled room and the hotel was told this when she booked but she still had to move rooms three times due to their mess up. My sister's room had damp and had to leave her window open due to the damp smell and then had ants in her room. For the amount you pay per night tge rooms should be better. Found the rooms quite small and this hotel is definitely not good for people with mobility problems as there alot of stairs and no ramps or grab rails in the rooms. The staff were friendly but I wouldn't recommend this property to stay in. The wedding was lovely but that was down to the couple more than the hotel. Collapse
