We recently stayed st the staybridge. My fourth trip to NYC and the 4th hotel. Rooms, neat an tidy, comfortable and clean. Our room was between 2 lifts so very noisy especially as we had a baby with us. You can hear the lifts go up and down up and down all night. Not great but bearable I suppose. Staff. Front desk were professional and the concierge Brad was an great guy, Uber accommodating and helpful. Breakfast. Never enough seats for guests. Was okay, there were hot selections however there was constantly empty dishes. Youghurt, oatmeal and fruit go as quick as they’re served and take a little while to be replenished. Staff are clearly trying their hardest but noticeably understaffed. Location is great. Everything is super accessible. It’s affordable. Facilities. Gym was good and useable. Small tho. The complimentary laundry is very handy for us as we are traveling for a month. Lifts take for ever Bar. Okay. Small but if you just want a quiet beer. All good. Comfortable. (I write this while there is some jerk being really loud talking about how he almost got kicked off a plane for using his phone and he was like, like, whatever. Ya know) All in all. This place had the potential to be really good but fell short because of the 1%ers. I’d stay here again, purely to give it another chance at impressing us but I’ve had better in NYC. Collapse
Would stay there again!

This hotel is located just 10 minutes walk from Times Square. It’s also really close to Port Authority bus station as well as the subway. The rooms were clean, and a lot more spacious than we expected. I loved having the kitchenette in the room - it was really handy being able to make snacks as well as a cup of tea! There’s also an iron and a hairdryer in the room. The breakfast was average but enough to help you start off the day. There was a selection of cereals, bread, fruit, as well as eggs and some other hot food. We found that there is very limited space in the restaurants at breakfast time and sometimes there wasn’t enough seating for everyone. Also 3 lifts isn’t enough for a hotel that has 32 floors, so sometimes you’re waiting for a while! They do offer free luggage storage if you have a late flight. As I said initially, the location is perfect but when you do step outside of the hotel, the streets are very dirty, smelly and at night there are a few odd characters around. I’ve been to New York several times, so I expected this but if it’s your first time, you maybe surprised as to what it’s like! Overall, I would definitely stay at the hotel. The facilities were great and the fact that there was breakfast included was another perk. The staff were really great and very helpful. I’d definitely recommend this hotel to those who want to be close to everything, but still have the benefits of a reasonably priced hotel and a kitchenette. Collapse

We had two rooms for one week – one with two queen doubles for my mum and my kids (14 and 10) and one across the corridor with one king bed for me and the hubby. I’ll try to keep this brief but I’m happy to answer any questions you have on it! - I called the hotel in advance to ask for rooms next to each other. - Front desk staff were really good anytime I needed anything extra (duvet) or wanted a late checkout. - Cleaning was really good. She forgot to put in clean towels twice in the week, but this was sorted straight away when mentioned. - Beds and pillows were comfy. - Shower is nice and powerful. - We were at the back of the hotel so hardly any noise. My mum and the kids were at the front overlooking the street and they said it was quite noisy in there. - Bar is open from 5pm-11pm every day but the service in there varied quite a bit during our stay. Sometimes, we were served at the table with a smile and other times we had to go to the bar and were met with an “uh-huh” and not much else! Kids friendly though! They have a great singer in there Thursdays and Fridays too! - There is a “pantry” beside reception which sells sweets, snacks, alcohol, soft drinks and some toiletries. Prices were not too bad if you were stuck! - Breakfast is included and there’s enough there to keep you going til lunch. Go down to the basement though because ground level is crazy in the mornings! - Manager’s special evenings are Monday-Wednesday from 5pm til 7pm. Free beer, wine and soft drinks (though you need to ask for these for some reason!). Free snacks too which vary through the months. Be warned, finding a seat is difficult but you can use the bar area too! - The lifts! The biggest complaint of everyone who stays here! There are only three and wow are they busy in the mornings! The way I see it, you go there knowing it then maybe it’ll not be as annoying as you think! My advice o Take everything with you in the morning when you go for breakfast so you don’t need to go back up again o Leave enough time for whatever you are doing to get down – sometimes 15 minutes! o If you are on the lower floors and you’re able, I’d walk in the mornings! o I found that it was totally fine at other times of the day, but between 8am and 10am it is very crowded! Location - Subway station at the corner of W40th and 8th - Bus Terminal literally across the road - 2 Bros pizza on the corner of W40th and 9th (you can take this back to the hotel, no problem) - Duane Reade (food, snacks, drinks, toiletries) on the corner of W40th and 8th - Beer Authority Pub on the corner of W40th and 8th is nice upstairs and kid friendly! - Sky Room Bar is next door to the hotel and is open at the weekends with great views – not for the kids though! Overall, I thought this was a well-located hotel which offered everything we needed it for during our week’s stay and I'd be happy to stay again! Collapse

I really don't want to give a good review so the prices won't go up! Stayed for a song here..and had dinner, breakfast, beer and wine included. Room was small but awesome..and even had a kitchenette. Perfect location for Times Square and Subway!
