The reception staff at sol tenerife could not be any better , we had a room in 157 block B and for paying all inclusive, the room was not impressive , thanks to the reception staff we changed room to 1119 in block A and this was a much better room , completely different from the first room we got given , the all inclusive was decent good drinks and food was ok , snack area was good. The only major down side to this hotel is the noise from the strip but the hotel can't do anything about this. All in all a decent place to stay Collapse

We got to our room to find that the safe key didn't work on the safe. We called reception again and they told us that they had lost the correct key. They said they could not change the lock on the safe for over a week so we had the option of not having a safe or moving to a different room that would not be a double room and might not have a sea view. There was only one plug socket in the room. The room smelt of cigarettes every time we walked into the room and neither of us smoke. You can't pay at the pool bar using cash. You have to go to reception to put money onto a charge card. The deposits for towels, and iron and an extension lead were also loaded onto the charge card. Luckily we kept note of what money we had loaded onto the charge card and what money we had spent because when we went to get our remaining money, at the end of the holiday, we were told we couldn't have our deposits back because we had spent too much money at the bar. We had to ask the receptionist to print off a list of our transactions and then spent half an hour explaining to her why we were owed over 30 euros. Make sure you remember to make a note of what money you put on your charge card and what you spend. Our friends asked reception to call a taxi for them to get to the airport and after waiting for 20 minutes they went back to reception and were told the receptionist forgot to call the taxi for them. We were told that reception would be emailed our transfer time 48hours before. We went to reception three times and were told they had not received the email yet. They told us to try to call the company but we could not get through. We went back to the reception for the fourth time to find out that they had the email all along. Overall the reception staff were either rude or useless. The balcony door did not have a lock on it. The pool area was nice and the entertainment was good. Very good location - in the middle of lots of bars and restaurants. However, the music from the strip was very loud until around 4 o'clock in the morning - you could hear the words of the songs. We were on the 10th floor so I imagine the floors below would have been even worse. Judging by the breakfast I am glad that we did not go all inclusive. Lots of very nice restaurants within a very short walking distance and lots of variety. Collapse

I have been there for 10 days and the food is bad, smell of sour and not many choices, night time same problem, mixed salads( maybe left it from the lunch) time and nothing to choose and believe me I am not very fussy about food and if.you want to drink water or anything else at dinner time you have to pay only with credit card.Crazy!!!The room was fine but even with earplugs you can still hear everything and I was surprised to find to times in a row after midnight in the bathroom bugs.I don't think this is normal!!If I had them in the room they might be in the hotel kitchen to.They told me when I arrived that they will.provide a shower for.me and son at the last day because we had the flight at 7PM and when I asked them on.my last day for a shower one girl said there are no more shower(rooms)available then the other one is telling me that the shower are not for everyone. This is Sucks....after a very hot day it was good to have a fresh shower before we leave. The pool is good with everyday music and entertainment for.adults and kids.I wouldn't go again next time. Myself, my boyfriend and another couple stayed here at Sol Hotel, Tenerife for a week in July and had a fantastic time!! We arrived at 9pm and had a fast check-in and greeted by lovely staff on reception. We went straight to our room BLOCK A 722 (this is the block closest to the nightlife - yes it was noisy and you can hear each song clearly, until about 4am, but most nights we were out late anyway and after having a drink of a few we slept fine anyway. IF YOU WANT A QUIETER ROOM I WOULD ASK TO BE IN BLOCK B :)) Our rooms were cleaned and tidied very well, cleaners were lovely and if you didn't want your room cleaned and they seen you in the corridor they would kindly ask if you needed new towels or toilet roll anyway! Our rooms contained: - Big fridge with a small freezer compartment! - hair dryer - Big comfy bed - 3 plug sockets in total (if you take out TV plug, 1 near fridge and 1 in bathroom) - plenty of wardrobe and draw space - Big balcony with table and chairs - Bathroom gifts such as toothbrush, toothpaste, after sun, sanitary items and razor! - Shower was very good which is a great plus!! - Safe ($10 euro deposit and $1.50 per day if i remember rightly) The hotel had great food, so much choice at breakfast! Dinners were also good, but you cannot pay with cash at the pool bar, which was fine for us as we had a travel money card anyway but other people had to open a tab at reception. The pool area was lovely also. 2 pools to choose from one lower and one on the rooftop terrace. Always plenty of sun beds available as well as plenty of shaded and garden space away from the pools to sit too. This hotel is in a lovely location right opposite the beach and a few minutes either way of the hotel and your either on Veronicas strip and starco or the more family friendly area called the patch. We enjoyed both :) We noticed some evenings there was a lovely lady in the hotel, willing to take your photograph and you could collect the print outs the next morning at breakfast!! Only thing if i'm being picky about the hotel was the wifi, it won't perfect downstairs but wouldn't connect when in the bedrooms - which was a shame if wanting to catch up with family etc. Oh the noise but we kind of expected this dont get a hotel next to veronicas strip and not expect noise! We will definitely be back Sol Tenerife :) Samantha, Ross, Bethany and Ashley :) Cumbria, Uk. Collapse

For the amount of money we spent, over £2000 we expected a better service, unfortunately reception was understaffed leading to often long ques of people and not very patient staff, electronic key never worked and we had to keep changing, internet was extremely poor, toilet button didn't work properly, nor did the air con. Pool area was nice but the gym was absolutely terrible, only has a couple of old rusty machines & literally "1" dumbell. Collapse
