My Boo chose to take me on a surprise mini vacation to New York. So let’s take about this hotel. Pro: convenient to the city. Some where to lay your head at night. Valet parking personnel was great! Con: security harassed us. Falsely accused us of smoking marijuana!! The front desk woman threatened to charge us $200 extra if they continued to smell the scent of marijuana. First off the scent of marijuana is noticeably strong as soon as you exit the elevator on the fourth floor. The hotel is undergoing construction and painting. Which is no problem but they should post warning signs and labels or have detours. There was also lights hanging from the ceiling. The shower walls had strings of hair inside. Hotel personnel was rude and unwelcoming. Also this hotel apply additional fees! Like what is a “special fee” ? There was like several additional fees. Blah !! If you’re just looking for somewhere to just store your things, shower and go explore the city well yea sure book here. At your own risk! Oh, the walls are very thin too. You can hear your neighbors conversations. Used linen but I think that’s every hotel; not sure. I mentioned that because you can see pubic hairs in the wash cloths. Unacceptable. You get what you pay for I guess, but essentially I think you should always treat people how you want to be treated. I rate the customer services a 0. Collapse

This place was good. Stayed here for a bachelorette weekend. When checking in it was a hassle. They gave me problems with checking into my room after my room not being ready with the other 2 rooms my friend paid for. Don’t expect any breakfast because they only have a couple of kuerigs that barely work and they call themselves skyline but not that impressive of a skyline. The positives it was only a 10 minute walk from Times Square and the subway station. The beds are comfortable and you can get a decent night sleep. Plus they are in a good part of Hell’s Kitchen that is jam packed with shops, markets, and coffee shops that are great to visit. They have a heated pool. When checking out they surprise you with a $45 “facilities fee” because of the pool and the coffee which neither one is worth $45. Regardless our group had fun being in New York. Recommend if u plan on using a pool and a comfy place to sleep. Collapse

We stayed here in early march as part of a multi destination trip with Virgin to New York and then to Vegas. I'll start with the positives: * Good location in Hell's kitchen with lots of great food nearby and easily accessible - though for the price Vs location anticipated a higher standard of accomodation and would probably opt for a spot a bit further in next time. * Staff were friendly. * Gym easily accessible and although small is appropriate for holiday use * Good hotel to airport transfer rates - speak to the hotel directly and see if this can be arranged $120 for 5 - including gratuity and tax - we gave extra though as the driver was super informative. Cons: * Really dated accomodation, doesn't smell clean or fresh and this was especially noticeable in comparison to our Vegas accomodation - and everyone smokes there. *Walls are thin, you can hear next door, in the hallway, above and outside. * Strong small of cannabis use/smoking throughout - really pungent and appears overlooked by staff * Rooms were spacious ish for New York - family have stayed elsewhere and said they were bigger and slept 2-3 well, wouldn't want to stay in the room as a 4 though. * Restaurant on site closed during stay - extended refurb. Can't comment on the food as didn't eat there. * On check in - toilet faulty and running all night - this was however rectified within a day or so. * Shower dated and basic. * Holding fee charged for bags to be held after check out - pre departure for flight As part of a Virgin deal I feel this hotel choice was a poor representation of the brand and below the standard expected when associated with them. Definitely wouldn't book here again. That said - it's New York and your room isn't for much else than sleeping in so if you've already booked - don't be too disappointed, there are some great places to eat and 'cheap' (for New York) liquor shops over the road. Famous pizza is close and worth a visit as is IL Melograno for sit down meal - both easy walking distance. If you're debating booking this place - personally I'd re-think and would go for a smaller room with a better location to match the budget or spend up if you can. Collapse

We (me, husband, two children) went to NYC for a long weekend. We choose Skyline because of its location and pool. Pros-good customer service, parking (real plus), pool, location, included Wi-Fi. We were able to walk to Times Square and Rockefeller Center. Cons-The rooms were dated and the heater banged all night long. I did not sleep well at all and a previous review indicates the same problem. I would stay here again if we talked to the front desk a head of time about the heater, I hope every room does not have this issue. Collapse
