The discrete fascination and decadent atmosphere of one of Venice's oldest palazzi. In the heart of the city, just a few steps from Piazza San Marco and the Rialto Bridge, with a splendid view of the Campo di Santa Maria Formosa. The deeply moving experience of a stay in a typically Venetian atmosphere. The 18th-century atmosphere of this noble Venetian residence has remained intact over the centuries. For this reason, a stay at the Hotel Scandinavia is a unique, emotionally-charged experience that will allow you to immerse yourself in a far-off time, reliving the ancient luxuries of 18th-century Venice. Every room in the Hotel has been designed to reproduce this magical atmosphere. The Hotel has 33 large, airy rooms. All the rooms are carefully decorated with period furniture and sumptuous Murano glass lamps and have every type of comfort such as TV, mini-bar, direct-line telephone and air conditioning.

Stayed at Hotel Scandinavia in Venice. Really good location equal distance between Rialto bridge and St Marks Sq. Very friendly and helpful hotel staff who speak excellent English. Dining room did get a bit congested at breakfast time - normal continental breakfast served. Our room was lovely with view over the Campo Santa Maria Formosa. Would have liked tea/coffee making facilities in bedroom. Note - there is no lift! Collapse

This is a charing hotel in a charming square with friendly staff and a warm welcome to everyone. Getting from the airport - we used the alilaguna orange line to Rialto 27 Euros return. Buy your tickets in the baggage hall - either use the machine with a card or buy from kiosk with cash - there is an ATM attached to the kiosk. Exit baggage hall just to the right go up the escalator to the 1st floor and then do a U turn and follow the blue signs to the water terminal you will see each line clearly marked. Don't forget to validate your ticket getting on. No need to rush it is a frequent service. The fun starts when you get off and start walking, just remember if you get lost you will easily get back on track, write down the street names from the hotel directions and ask along the way to keep on track. The hotel itself is in a beautiful square and it was great to hear the church bells in the morning and a great place to unwind on an evening. The hotel has lots of character, you won't find many mod cons here - no kettle or iron but there is a hairdryer. Yes the bathroom may be small and compact but it is modern and there is plenty of hot water the shower was great! We had a room on the 3rd floor with a great view of the church and the square. The location of the hotel is good with San Marco and Rialto only minutes away. The breakfast is varied and should satisfy most people. I would stay here again. Collapse

booked the Hotel Scandinavia for 4 nights and really enjoyed our our stay, walked from the Rialto bridge to the hotel which was quite easy to find although did get a little lost here & there !! greeted on arrival by a lovely helpful receptionist Elena who was so friendly throughout our stay as were all the hotel staff. Our room was on the 3rd floor, lift went to 2nd floor so 1 flight of steps up, room was lovely, typical Venetian and had a bonus of a small terrace with table & chairs overlooking the rooftops of Venice, bed very comfortable and bathroom modern and clean. Enjoyed the choice at the continental breakfast, small dining room looking out to the lovely market square, hotel in a great location with bars restaurants & supermarket nearby, just 10 mins walk to St Marks, Rialto bridge etc but away from the main tourist crowds. Stayed here for a couple days while visiting Venice. Had some trouble looking for it. LOCATION: So I took the Vaporetto from the train station. I bought my tickets after I exited the station, it was less than 10 euros for a single trip. I think it expires after 90 minutes upon activation. We followed the instructions on the website, which instructed us to exit from the Rialto Bridge. That was only about a 15 minute Vaporetto ride. After exiting, we had to walk on foot for about 10 minutes to get to the hotel. It’s not a long walk, it’s just rough looking for the hotel since you have to pass through a couple of alleys, cross a few bridges, and carry your luggage too. FRONT DESK/RECEPTION: Once you spot the hotel entrance, the front desk is right there as you open the door. Reception/lobby area is really small. There’s a small couch. The front desk was very nice to us, they gave us a map and some good instructions on where to eat without spending too much and the popular attractions to see. After, they sent us on our way to our room with the key and wi-fi password. ROOM: Ours was located on the 3rd floor. The elevator took awhile to get to us, and it’s extremely small, so we took turns moving our luggage with us into the elevator. The room was very small and there’s no AC. Luckily, we were able to open the window to let some air in, but the view was not impressive at all. It’s just another wall filled with windows. It also didn’t smell too great. We didn’t really have a closet, just a rack to hang a few clothes. The bathroom was very cramped, barely room to fit two people. The shower was good for the most part, the water pressure wasn’t the best but it got me by. The whole entire layout of the bedroom is very old fashioned and just very small. A bit small for three people. It did get very stuffy at night due to lack of AC, so we had to constantly keep our windows open to let some breeze in. COMPLIMENTARY BREAKFAST: They did offer it on the first floor. There’s a good selection of breakfast pastries, yogurt, cheese and prosciutto, bread rolls, and yogurt. There’s also an espresso machine for you to make yourself a cup of coffee. Seating was very limited, they do have a dining area but it was filled up by the time we came down for breakfast. It’s also very cramped. Food was okay, I’ve definitely been spoiled by the other cities I’ve visited. CONCLUSION: Okay hotel experience. The lack of AC made it hard for me to sleep. The room was far too small and it wasn’t impressive. Breakfast was okay, but the seating was too cramped. I like that it is close to all of the main attractions like the San Marco Square and the Rialto Bridge. Everything was a quick and easy walk from our hotel. I probably wouldn’t stay here again only because I felt it was too stuffy, but it was an okay experience for my first time. Collapse
