Stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. Clean but a bit tired. Pool (roof)looks much better on the website and was freezing, and SPA did not open till 10am so not great. Hotel staff were efficient and friendly. Useful taxi rank across the road.

I have never posted a review before but felt I need to. On my first day the shower rack fell off and gashed my foot. Reported this to staff and got no apology only told they would fix the rack. Later that day after I just step out of the shower a maintenance repair guy just enters my room, ignores my do not disturb sign, doesn't knock and just barges in. I have no clothes on as i am just out of shower. He doesn't leave and walks into shower to fix it as I stand there in shock . I report this to the staff who are rude and aggressive about it. Told me they wanted to talk to maintenance guy to get his side of story??! In case I am lying. He confirms to them what he did. Staff were rude , refused to let me speak to manager, refused to call manager themselves and said it was a mistake and basically get over it. The staff were all rude, speaking about me in Spanish behind my back thinking I couldn't understand. If you value privacy, safety, customer service then stay away from this hotel. Also the room cards kept failing every day , the toilet takes about the force of an elephant to get it to flush , wheel fell of my cheap bed, and as mentioned above, shower racks fall off and injure you . Will never return and up to this post I still haven't been contacted by the manager after two emails sent to him. Collapse
A very good option for families... if you choose the right room

Bottom line : We have enjoyed our stay despite a few glitches. I do recommend this hotel. Don't be afraid by the location. The good: - The staff is very efficient and professional. Everyone at all levels (from reception through maintenance and cleaning) does his/her best to solve your problems quickly. They give unbiased recommendations and are very helpful. - Our room (806 with sea view) had enough space for two adults and one toddler. We had twin beds and an extra one for the little one. We just collated all three of them to mitigate any risk of falling: it was an easy operation. Last but not the least, the view is fantastic : the sunrise has amazed all of us. - The spa is good (therapeutic massage). - The breakfast is outstanding with a child corner that makes a huge difference. Well done! - The hotel is close to the beach and to the Diagonal Mar shopping mall. It is located in the most boring district of Barcelona but the city's liveliest neighbourhoods are 15 to 20 minutes away and the commuting is both complete (bus, metro, tram, taxis) and convenient. - The bar has an excellent menu at comparable fares if you don't feel like hanging around at the shopping mall for meals. - The transfer to the airport is a fixed rate of 35€, which is fair enough. The real advantage is the child seat option. The bad: - the hotel is surrounded by two constructions. One seems to have stalled whereas the other one causes a lot of noise. One can't really blame the hotel for that. So make sure you have a deluxe room with a sea view or else you'll regret your stay. - The home automation (with good old Windows XP under the hood) is a pain. The touch screen is dull and you hope that Donald Trump doesn't have the same light switches serving as nuclear buttons. - When you insert your card, all lights are on by default; and they can be blinding. Then with the poorly designed home automation, turning them off manually is tedious. Personally, I would have preferred to turn everything off but the lobby's/corridor's. - Some mold on one shower handle. It was quickly fixed with a lot of apologies though. Still, we're talking about a 4-star hotel, aren't we? - No bottle of water included (3€ each, ouch!). So before you feel like feeding your baby with liquid gold, go to the Alcampo at the shopping mall and buy water and bring it to your room. - Again, it is not the best area to feel the energy of Barcelona. So you might have to go out elsewhere in the evening. With a toddler who has an early bedtime routine, this won't be a problem really. Collapse

Stayed here for 3 nights recently, hotel is pleasant, clean and bright. The rooms are spacious and clean and the staff are very helpful. The roof top pool is lovely even though we didn’t get chance to use it we went up for a look, the level bar is great as it is such a nice setting after a day exploring in the city. Can’t comment on the breakfast as we didn’t have it but it also wasn’t very good value for money which is why we didn’t opt for it. Hotel is located right by the tube which links you into the city centre and surrounding areas very easily, we bought a 3 day ticket which was very good value for money. Taxi from the airport cost 60 euros however on the way back to the airport we got the tube using our pass to las Rambla and then the airport bus which cost 6 euros each to the airport and took approx 15 mins. Would recommend. Good hotel would stay again Collapse
