We stayed for 1 week in may our 6th visit to this hotel, yes it is a bit tired in rooms but very comfortable. Was disappointed that the wifi had failed this year and wasn't able to get wifi by pool or in room it was only available in the foyer it was hard to get a seat as everyone trying to get online, not sure if hotel trying to save money as a lot of all inclusive guests because we found that they had cut the size of drinks at pool bar previous years cokes we much bigger but now small was all that was available. Entertainment was not great but the oldies seem to like it and as always Evelyn in the bar was lovely and remembered us from previous years which was so nice the waiters work very hard in the bar never any trouble getting a drink. Food was service was good in the restaurant, it can get crowded at peak times but we went in slightly before and had no trouble getting seated, overall another nice relaxing holiday Collapse

This was our 3rd visit in four years. We booked it straight after our holiday in May. So it was booked almost a year in advance we loved it so much. I am sorry to say this is not a 4* hotel and hasn't been for many years I would say however, in the past there was a great atmosphere, the warm pool, the great location right on the beach and lovely guests really did make up for the minus points, i.e. in desperate need of a refurbishment. This year on our arrival we were offered a totally unsuitable room after writing twice beforehand, as we have done in the past to explain our mobility problems, on our previous visits this was not an issue and appropriate rooms were allocated. They always seem to have some problems with the lifts when we are there. If you have mobility issues make sure you are in the main part of the building or you may have a long trek to your room with stairs to cope with also. Our problem was resolved quickly but only after traipsing to the original room and distressing my partner who was nearly collapsing; it did rather put a dampener on our arrival. This apart, for the first week of our visit we found the hotel to be totally lacking in atmosphere throughout, dull does not come into it, even the lovely Gianni, the only adult animations person they have and who has been there a very long time seemed to have lost some of his spark. The food was most certainly not up to standard, always been a bit 3* ish at best but it was barely 3* and very far off 4* this time Sunbeds - They still have the old type sunbeds (blue & white) in a bad state previously more like hammocks, they are being refurbished by a staff member, but we notice the new ones already starting to sag, they really should get the modern comfortable type. They are supposed to be refurbishing but nothing noticeable over the last 4 years, I believe some rooms have been done but these are at a supplement and it is pricey enough to start with. The hotel needs to close for 6 months and get a complete refurbishment bringing it into this century. I have to say, yes there are many returners but I now realise they are very much the older generation i.e. 80s. We are in our 60s/70s and in the main were quite young in comparison to many. There will be no next generation of returners if this hotel is not upgraded to match its 4* status and 4* price. Many hotels in this price range are far, far nicer and much better value. Someone in a previous review said mausoleum, well this time I have to agree. The entertainment was quite bad and when a decent act was advertised it changed last minute for some rubbish act. There is no music playing anywhere in the daytime except when aqua is on in the pool and on a very rare occasion we did hear some very quiet music behind the pool bar but only for a few minutes, so there is music available, it is probably not allowed. The new generation of oldies like a bit of background music. The staff, we found them still to be ok some better than others. Reception were always helpful as were most of the bar staff, Evelyn and Claire in particular, very nice girls. I am sorry to say we will not be returning again to this hotel again unless it has a complete refurbishment and is brought into this century. We expect a reasonable standard for the money we pay, it is not cheap, and it is now not acceptable to us. I can no longer recommend it to friends and family and readers of TA as I have done in the past. We were very disappointed. The good points for us are the heated walk in pool directly on the beach and location of the dining room, pool and pool bar. Idea when you have mobility problems so could be an excellent hotel but desperately needs money spending on it. Collapse
