So this will be the third time I will be going to a NAU all inclusive Salgados resort. Although I am Portuguese I am writing in English in the hope I can get as much information back both from Portuguese and English speaking visitors. So I went to Sao Rafael Suites two years ago, to Village last year and this year well my kids were sold for the pirate ship. I have read a lot of reviews and asked a few questions from the hotel but the information is contractionary. The hotel on the website says that the rooms only have the capacity for 2 adults and 1 child, yet my agent assured me I would be able to accommodate my two boys, 7 and 3-year-old. I even contacted the reception of the hotel and they confirmed that in the sofa bed the two kids will fit, but if so why does there one website only state 2 adults and 1 kid? and by looking at the photos of the sofa not really sure how two boys fit there. I also asked the hotel about having soya milk, they assured me it was always available but read a number of reviews stating that you had to ask each time and a lot of the times it never came in time. My final issue has been with wi.fi, hotel via the website and email guarantee access but state when the hotel is crowded which supposedly in the summer the wi fi does not work properly. So will I fit 2 boys in a sofa bed? will there be soya milk an alike? will there be wi fi or should I embrace myself for a not 5-star hotel experience? My last test will be asked for a double bed, not a twin bed and a quiet room, wonder if that will come through. Collapse

The hotel is very clean, rooms are spacious and the facilities in the room are really good the hotel staff are friendly and happy to help with any questions you have. The all inclusive runs from 7am to 1pm and there is always something to eat or drink (you just have to find the bar/restaurant) the towel service takes a coupe of days get used to but once you do it's fine. The food is really good a wide selection at every meal the afternoon snack bar is great as well, the drinks are branded (absolute vodka, beefeater gin etc, a selection of cocktails, local beer cider and stout. Plenty of sunbeds around the pool. We checked out at 11 and weren't getting picked up until 5:30 in the afternoon the hotel let us keep on bands on, we had lunch and snack bar as well as drinks for free, they even let us use the spa facilities for free to shower before we left. Don't believe the bad reviews, they have been submitted by pompous jerks that are looking for absolute perfection! This is a great family hotel, I would definitely recommend it and would be more than happy to return! Collapse

Great staff, from check-in to check-out. Nursing facilities available with attentive staff and well prepared; clearly a plus for such a type of place! Rooms are spacious and well decorated. And a beautiful sunset can be appreciated from the rooftop or even from the pools. Some things are missing though: Lack of activities for kids (as well as for adults); kids' club needs to improve its daily program and a play park is missing. As an all-inclusive resort, a bit more variety should be available, mostly for kids. Overall, it's a great place for vacations! Collapse

Rooms absolutely stunning, well impressed. Pools stunning and huge, well impressed. Arrived here at 10.30am and I let them know ahead of time that I would be there before check in time and they said they would see what they could do but if there wasn't a room available wheb we arrived we could use the facilities and a member of staff would come and let us know when a room was ready. We waited 10mins at reception and they had a room ready for us housekeeping just done one last check to ensure it was ready, well impressed with this. Massive hotel in the middle of no where with no atmosphere but was very quiet which is what we wanted! It is 12euro each way in a taxi to Albufeira we didn't realise it was so far out so just a heads up. Food and drinks in the hotel were extortionate we got 2 cocktails a toastie and a burger when we arrived for lunch and it was over 40euros so we didn't eat or drink in the hotel again. But i suppose they can charge whatever they want as theres nothing else around. No shop in the hotel either which i found strange. But all in all would stay here again for the comfort and the cleanliness!! One sttar lost for the price of food and drinks and location. Collapse

Awaiting to hear from Jet2 re complaint 3 weeks later and no contact. Hotel could not understand English. One or two within hotel who could. Food very repetitive but good. Rooms clean depending what maid was cleaning. Hotel lacked entertainment for English was all aimed at Portuguese. My two year old was crying as told unable to use sister hotel park and later was given access after complaining to jet2 rep 3 days into hotel. Disgrace that jet2 rep was only available on day 3 of holidays. Mix up with the room as reception couldn't understand me and gave us key to room that was not ready and then not given vouchers for other restaurants until asking the jet2 rep. Even manager could not understand me. When given access to sister hotel palm village was given a black band which was a completely different colour to the people who were issuing hotel and treated like second class citizens. Was followed in and out sister hotel park bysecurity guard when I was a female alone with my child age 3 even when we had been given access to use same. Hotel lacked English kids club. Again all Portuguese and English not catered for. Long way to go to be 5 star. Way out the way location wise and hotel lacked tourist info. Was 15 outside albufiera even though it is advertised as Albufiera. Jet2 get these issues orders Collapse
