The three days we spent at the Edinburgh Festival were marvellous. It's a vibrant city, but with the joyful mayhem of the Fringe going on in the streets it was just so much fun. So difficult to pick which shows to see and music to hear from the amazing choice on offer. The Royal Scots Club was a haven of peace and good taste, and close enough for us to walk into the city centre. Excellent food, lovely friendly staff. Collapse

Holiday was great, though the journey up was difficult because our train was cancelled and we had to dash to Euston (with hundreds of others) to catch another. The only problem with the hotel was that our room was VERY warm due to its location above kitchen and hot water boiler, due to health and safety the widow opening was inadequate. We would stay there again but in a different room. Other than that it was a great break. Collapse

An absolute gem of a hotel! The building in the New Town is interesting and beautifully decorated. An ideal location for the city centre but not too far away for the modern art or botanic gardens. The staff are helpful and friendly and the food was lovely. Our room was clean, comfortable, well equipped and had a fantastic view across the roof tops to the firth in the distance. We will certainly come back again! Collapse

We had a family room (#20) and it was PERFECT for us and two large teenagers. The Royal Scots was the oldest and most senior infantry regiment of the line of the British Army, so this hotel has loads of historical charm. But the room itself was spacious and classy, the bathroom was clean and modern. It's hard to believe you can get this much space in such a great location of the city (New Town) AND at a very reasonable price! And the Full Scottish Breakfast was delicious (vegetarian option available)! Collapse
