This was a terrific place to celebrate a special birthday with loved ones! I did my homework and knew to get a villa away from the road and to rent a car to get around. The people that end up unhappy are the ones without proper investigating..simple..I say the uninformed deserve what they get! I was very happy to have upgraded to a Majestic Villa which was much better in person than depicted in any photos, large well appointed and luxurious. The whole property is beautiful ,well maintained and there are extra details and flourishes everywhere that make it a magical place. All staff are friendly and helpful with special thanks to all who decorated the villa with balloons and flowers for my birthday and to Jorge at breakfast. Speaking of breakfast....There needs to be a way to serve the hot items in a more efficient way. Small unheated containers with glass tops are used with no real space to put the fragile lids and to barely enjoy tepid food which should be warm..Wake up Fiona and smell the coffee ..something needs to be done! We enjoyed complimentary massages in the Spa which was a nice experience. The only complaint I have about the villa is the thinnish towels that should reflect the quality of this 5 star property and not a cheap motel.Overall this is one of my favorite places to have stayed in all my travels, with wonderful memories! You cannot argue that this place is not cheap, so for this price range you are entitled to expect a lot more. We went there on the strength of what we had read on Trip advisor. So often we think we must have gone to a totally different place to everyone else. My wife was concerned about the comments regarding road noise so I telephoned and was told that some villas are further away from the road than others, and that when we got there there would try and give us one further from the road. When we shown to our villa, agreed it is quite nice BUT the balcony wall looked down on to the road 20 feet below and I could almost reach out and touch the lamp post outside our room, there is also a crossing there so vehicles slow down and then accelerate again with a nice puff off pungent, and not to healthy exhaust fumes. I went back to reception and asked if we could change rooms but was then told that all villas face the road and there was nothing else available. There were setting up across the road for a Pop concert on Good Friday which we had been told was a local festival. We moved to an excellent hotel called El Mirador and had a suite in their Balconada section. It was a good Two miles away but we could hear the concert from there.?? The dining room at Royal Garden villas is downstairs without windows, when we go to the sun we like to dine Al fresco which we did at El Mirador for every meal with a view of the sea, and access to the Prom for a walk after dinner if required. El Mirador is Adults only with a free bar throughout the day. We can not recommend it enough. We are not hard to please and we know what we like, It is a great shame that people are posting such misleading reviews about places. The managress, Fiona is First Class and really wants people who stop here to enjoy it. We cannot fault the most professional way she handled our complaint, Its just a shame this hotel is surrounded on both sides by roads Collapse

We're 4 days into our stay of a 14 day stay and are looking forward to going home. The hotel is lovely, room is beautiful, staff are friendly and helpful and everything is clean cannot dispute that, however the hotel is on a VERY busy road which means if you're sitting outside ( why wouldn't you, its sunny!) you have to shout to hear yourselves speaking - not relaxing in the slightest. The brochure and website also neglect to mention the fact that the hotel has nothing round it, not a restaurant, shop, cafe bus stop , anything so you are forced to either eat in the hotel restaurant (which is very expensive) or get taxis everywhere so be prepared to add 10-25 euros into the price of your evening meal if you go out. The first thing we were told when we arrived in our room was not to drink the water but there was water in the fridge, but at €5 for a litre the cost would soon mount up, there is a supermarket but it is about a 30 min walk uphill where you can get water but probably need to get a taxi back if you're stocking up on drinking water. The hotel is right next to a golf course , bonus! You'd think being in such close proximity there would be special rates for guests, which is true, standard price for a round at this time of year is €99, the hotel discount takes it to €95, yup a whole €4 discount! We were really looking forward to this holiday but do feel disappointed, it's not as we expected and as such has put a bit of a dampener on what should have been a restful time for us. Collapse

We spent a week here in the run up to Easter. It has been 5 years since our last visit and I can wholeheartedly say that the quality of accommodation, the friendliness and professionalism of the team, and the food remains of the highest order. To keep to this incredibly high standard is most difficult and yet they manage it with charm and a calmness which is the personality of the hotel. My congratulations to Fiona and her team. We stayed in the Joanna this time having stayed in the Aqua on two previous occasions. This is little to choose between them. The Joanna is on two floors whereas the Aqua is single storey. They are as far apart as is possible on the site which means the Joanna is a little quieter being a bit higher. Other than that there is little to choose between them and I would recommend both equally. We have stayed in all the top hotels in Southern Tenerife and whilst we enjoyed most of them, you cannot beat Royal Garden Villas on this island. Looking forward to returning! Collapse

We stayed here for 4 nights and had a perfect stay. The rooms are very spacious with an extremely private terrace containing a plunge pool and sun loungers along with day bed and table and chairs. Every member of staff was friendly and polite and every request was catered for without hesitation. The breakfasts were delicious all fresh and table decorations were beautiful. In the run up to Easter the displays were charming. This hotel was the perfect find and we shall certainly return! Collapse
