I generally as a rule only write a review if the service is terrible as a warning to others or if the service was exceptional. In the case of our stay at the Rosewood it was definitely the latter. We flew in from our home in Hong Kong and stayed from 31st July to 8th August with our 22 month old daughter, my mother in law and sister in law. We required a location that allowed us easy access to all the familiar tourist sites (my wife & in laws being Chinese) and also within easy reach of my family in London. Our daughter would be meeting her Aunt and cousins for the first time. Upon arrival we were met by very smartly dressed and very friendly doorman. Check in was a breeze and they had fulfilled my wife's request of a high floor. As with most London hotel rooms they are small but the Rosewood rooms provided us ample space and a great level of comfort, the bed being very comfortable. After going for a walk to stretch our legs and allowing the shopaholics in our family to orientate themselves and realise that Oxford St, Leicester Sq, Covent Garden etc were all within easy walking distance (the nearest tube station literally 2 mins away) we returned to settle down for the night. Unfortunately we discovered that the cot was a couple of inches to short and since our daughter likes to stretch out this would cause an issue. We advised reception of the situation and the speedy response led to a single mattress being placed on the floor in our room. Being tired from the flight and just wanting to crash we were tempted to have me sleep on the floor and my wife and daughter share the bed and resolve the issue next morning. However my wife rang down and explained that this arrangement was unacceptable. One of the hotel managers arrived very quickly and upon entering our room instantly agreed and appeared rather perturbed that this had been offered to us. He informed us that the cots were standard size but they would source a travel cot. Unfortunately no travel cots were available so a neighbouring hotel was asked to provide one. The travel cot appeared and upon setup was found to be broken much to the obvious distress of Adrian (we hope that is correct). His response was to immediately attempt to source another travel cot or for the Rosewood to purchase one for us. I do not doubt for one minute that the purchase request was genuine but ultimately not required as the second travel cot appeared and was fully functional. With this issue resolved we were able to enjoy the rest of our stay. The hotel left a teddy bear for our daughter and I can inform the Rosewood staff that it now sits proudly alongside her favourite teddy's at home. Due to our tight schedules we were unable to try the hotel restaurant but I can highly recommend Scarfes Bar for a couple of drinks and a place to meet up with friends before heading out. Please note though that it gets extremely busy on Wednesday & Thursday evening with seating limited, my one and only gripe being that even as a hotel guest there is no guarantee of being seated. I know this is difficult since it is a popular location but a couple of sofas/chairs reserved for guests would help and if not used then by all means reallocate them. Our stay at the Rosewood was a very enjoyable experience and we would like to thank all the staff and management for this. We will definitely be back and for those of you who are dog lovers do not forget to give the hotel golden retriever a pat. Collapse

We visited Scarf's bar last year and vowed to stay at the hotel on our next trip to London. Firstly the hotel does not disappoint, it's public areas are sumptuous. For the price the bedrooms are a little on the small side, compared to other 5 start hotels I have stayed in, however the bed was simply fabulous......great nights sleep. Small gripe, house keeping kept "forgetting" to replace the shower gel.....Had cocktails at Scarf's bar, and although the bar is fabulous with great live music, we felt the obscure naming and ingredients of the cocktails a bit odd.....perhaps some old favorite cocktails amongst the more exotic ones? we were not actuall guests for the hotel but we came for the tea. The afternoon tea at The Rosewood is art-themed and comes in the form of cakes inspired by Yayoi Kusama, Damien Hirst, Alexander Calder, Banksy, and Mark Rothko. The whole thing goes down in a beautiful mirror-filled room, so consider bringing the narcissistic, art-loving person in your life. Everyone has one of those. Collapse

This was my first stay at the Rosewood. I was traveling with my family (spouse + 4 children) and from the moment we arrived in the courtyard, the attention to service was impeccable. We stayed for four nights in two rooms that were connected. Plenty of space for all and very quiet. Turndown service was perfect. In particular, we found all recommendations from the concierge desk to be excellent...especially given the unique opinions of every family member. :) All in all a great stay and will definitely be our lodging choice for our next visit to London. We very much enjoyed our stay at the rosewood. After a few weeks on safari we were ready for comfy beds and blackout shades to help us catch up on sleep, and boy did the rosewood deliver! Our butler was awesome and really went out of their way, picking up mcdonalds for our son and even getting him a legit set. The hotel is super kid-friendly with pearl, the lab, leading in that department. Everyone from the front desk, to the doorman and to the driver (special shout out!) were friendly and highly competent. Initially we were in a suite that was near to some construction but ended up changing rooms, so please be careful about your room choice. I think the hotel is nearly perfect, but to compete with other top luxury hotels it sorely needs car service (at least for suite stays) and I didn't meet the gm once over our four night stay despite staying in one of the named suites. I understand the gm is new, and I can only hope that he decides to "take it to the next level" since his staff are clearly rockstars ready to make it happen. I highly recommend this place! Collapse
