My husband & I spent 2 nights at the Rosedale - our first time to Vancouver & just loved the location of this hotel. The staff were so friendly & helpful & our room was very comfortable & clean & very spacious. We were on the 20th Floor with a lovely big balcony to enjoy the stunning views of Vancouver. We celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary & had such a lovely surprise - 2 glasses & a bottle of red - this was such a nice touch & we were very thankful. We walked to Chinatown - Gastown & to Canada Place on the water front - Vancouver is a very accessible city - we also did the hop on hop off and the stop is next to the library which is one block up from Rosedale. Yaletown is also walking distance and fabulous at night with lots of restaurants to choose from. Our favourite place was connected to Rosedale "Original Joe's" happy hour everyday 3-6pm and the food is lovely - I also enjoyed a few Caesars. We would definitely stay here again. Collapse

This hotel is perfect for a number of reasons. All rooms come with a separate living area plus kitchenette, to the bedroom area, the hotel staff are very friendly and extremely helpful ( the morning concierge is a gem :-), the cleaning staff are friendly and accommodating, the hotel is located next to a good bistro/sports bar called 'Original Joe's' and served excellent food, and the hotel is a block away from the hop on hop off bus. We had need of a medical centre during our stay and the concierge assisted us to find one close by (within easy walking distance) and the pharmacy was in the same block ( he also found me a great hairdresser too - Opus Salon and ask for Jasmin). Lots of local eateries nearby and an IGA two blocks up. The only thing that needs improving to bring it to the same standard as the rest of the hotel is the breakfast arrangements ( breakfast is included). The tables are shared so the tablecloths can be pretty dirty if you arrive after 8am and while it is a good way to meet other travellers, ( which we did!), the food is very basic - toast, jam, three cereal choices and then baked goods ( if you prefer to start the day with these). One good thing was the availability of fresh apples, bananas and oranges - excellent! No hot food as this is a continental breakfast only ( so the kitchenette in the room is good if that is your preference). We would definitely stay there again! Collapse

A great location from which to explore downtown Vancouver and its colourful ambience. Little confusion on arrival as we were unaware that Rosedale Condominiums and Rosedale hotel are the same building. The concierge explained that the upper floors were used as timeshare apartments while the lower part was the hotel. Check in was seamless and we were directed to our room on the 19th floor. A standard queen kitchenette, with a balcony (a screen door would be a useful touch here) which gave a great view of buildings, rooftop gardens (of which there were many) and also the unique central library which was extremely busy. Learnt very quickly that one of the elevators did not go down to the underground parking (not to expensive either considering location) – just to the lobby which was unusual. Checked out the pool (which was in constant use) and hot tub which were fine but the fitness room was a little dated with some tired looking treadmills and a recumbent bike (no multigym?) The room was compact but clean and the bed was very comfortable. The TV had a DVD player attached, but no on screen menu guide or tv listings which made it hard to find shows to watch. The laminated card listing the channels was not much use if you did not know what was on each channel. WiFi was not in issue at any time. The bathroom was fine but could not work out why the main bathroom fan control was located in the kitchenette area?? The complimentary toiletries were basic and not impressive. Main issue was the shower which struggled at peak times to maintain water pressure and even hot water. Could not adjust the showerhead for some reason. In reading the in room literature it said that breakfast was served from 9-11am everyday downstairs in the restaurant (which was an original Joe’s). When we called down to ask about this we were told that we did not qualify as were in the condominiums section and that was for hotel guests. Pointed out it was in the brochure and was told someone would get back to us. No one did. As a result we did not even try to use Room Service for food even if it was an option. Given the amount of time we were in the room it was not a huge deal especially when you look at the number of places to eat around the hotel. 7/11 and McDonalds were 2 mins away and going up Robson Street there were any number of eateries serving a great selection of food at all hours of the day. Even an IGA was a block away where one could pick up food to take back to the room and keep in the fridge. Was unaware that daily maid service was not a regular thing in the Condominiums and one had to phone and book them to come in midway through the stay. The front desk however was very good in supplying things like coffee for the Keurig which daily refilling! When asked to do so. -Saw a hotel staff member more than once carrying a single roll of toilet paper to rooms that had run out! Did not know it was in limited supply. Overall this is a very good location from which to explore Vancouver as most things are within manageable walking distance. Getting on Vancouver transit is easy for those further locations and only a short walk away. Sitting on the balcony having a morning coffee was very pleasant and the traffic noise was not a problem at any time as one watched to world go by below, not to mention the occasional bird flying past too. Yes the room we were in could use a refresh and some TLC, but the devil is in the details and there are certainly some things that the Condo team and the hotel team need to get straight for the customer that would make things a lot easier for all. Would we stay again?...yes, knowing what we know now and for the location. Collapse
