Went to the hotel rosamar in Benidorm for 10 days, we have been to the rosamar many times before and now the hotel is mostly all inclusive I don't think we will be going there any time in the future, I am far from posh but some of the the all inclusive crowd bring the hotel down. They are very noisey and leave a mess everywhere in the hotel and round the pool area, your having to queue up half an hour before the pool opens to get a sunbed as people put there towels on the beds then disappear till the afternoon . When your queuing over 10 mins for a drink which you are paying for then the bar staff give you a plastic cup 1/2 or 3/4 full like your all inclusive and then pull there face when you ask them to fill it up because your paying for it. Even at meal times it was horrendous, you were having to que up and wait to get into the restaurant to eat. Collapse

We stayed here for 1 week in August. We are a family of 5, 2 adults and 3 children. We would never return to this hotel again. This isn't a friendly, family hotel. The hotel is very basic and not worthy of its 3 star rating, more like 2 star. The hotel is in desperate need of TLC and renovation, however, the hotel is in a good location for the beach, shops and restaurants. Make sure you rent a save as soon as you check in. We spoke to 2 separate couples who said that had been robbed on the first day. Don't take any valuables down to the pool either. Nothing is safe. We stayed all inclusive but ate out for lunch and dinner 4 days out of the 7. The food is bland with not a lot of choice unless you want to eat chips and poor cuts of meat everyday. Breast Chicken was served once. The staff in the dining hall were slow and unhelpful. Tables not cleared and there was a general lack of care. The only time I witnessed the staff being helpful was to their fellow Spanish. One waiter pushed my step-daughter out the way - absolutely uncalled for and rude. The air con in the dining room doesn't work and it's like a melting pot. It's uncomfortable to sit and eat it. Make sure you get a table by the window, so you can let the fresh air in. I would recommend you take extra cash to eat out. There's a great steak house across from the hotel next to Uncle Peds and there's an awesome restaurant called Paradiso on the Main Street. The 2 drink rule person is ridiculous and inconvenient especially if you have children with you. We are a family of 5 and had to take our children up with us whenever we wanted a juice or ice cream. Don't let your children go up on their own as the other guests jump in front of them and the bar staff ignore them. All inclusive finishes at 11pm. Don't leave your towels out on sun loungers other guests will move them after an hour. The pool side was busy and untidy, plastic cups and plates of food on the ground. One hotel staff was in charge of cleaning it, she needed more help but done her best. The mini water park is great - probably the best bit of the hotel. The kids enjoyed that and there was 2 lifeguards on hand. Downside was that the kids Monkeybars were broken. My step daughter alerted the lifeguard and red tape was places around them, however, they remained broken for the rest of our holiday. Kids still played on them, they could have injured themselves. The bedrooms are very basic and small, but they were cleaned everyday with fresh towels. Don't expect much from the other guests either. Many were drunk by the pool and let their children run about the hotel without checking on them. If you can go out for walks and go to the beach. I would recommend you visit the hotel spa, it was clean, quiet and helped you forget you were at the Rosamar. You can use the Spa for €4.80. I would also recommend the Thai Massage. The massage was awesome. Overall, the hotel was a disappointment to us but we made the most of our stay in Benidorm by getting out the hotel for walks, sight seeing and eating our whenever possible. The kids enjoyed the waterpark and that's the main thing. The staff didn't seem happy and it showed everyday. Collapse

Just returned from a 10 night stay half board at this hotel. There was 5 of us all together. First impressions of the hotel- a bit shabby but clean reception and public areas. Checked into our room it was very spacious for 2 of us but not very clean, the sheets looked and felt like they hadn't been changed (I know this with working in hotels myself) the beds were extremely hard and uncomfortable, we asked reception for a mattress topper which was brought to our room a few hours later, ended up having to order another one as the mattresses were still very uncomfortable with the topper on! This finally worked a little bit for us. Our room was cleaned on a daily basis but I had to ask the maid to change our sheets on the 5th day! As saying previously with working in hospitality myself this isn't standard! The floor was never cleaned properly Always dust and dirt still on the floor, the baths had no anti slip grips in the tub so had to use the bathmat towel inside for security. The lifts were an absolute joke, 4 tiny lifts for 16 floors -1/14, honestly you could be stood there for a good 10-15 minutes waiting for a lift to be available with enough room in it, this wasn't good at all with staying on the 10th floor! Breakfast was of a usual standard, plenty of toasters so nobody was waiting long for their toast. But there was never enough tables, always being seated at dirty tables and having to wait and ask again for our table to be cleared. Dinner was the same waiting to be seated, was seated at a dirty table 8 nights out of the 10 we stayed. Our first night for dinner we wasn't told nothing about the rosamars 'dinner standards' for half board guests. No waiting staff told us we had to order drinks from the non existing menus on the tables. We always had to ask staff can we order drinks a few times during dinner service as if they had forgotten about us. Coming towards the end of our stay we was known by the waiters as the tippers as we always tipped the staff every dinner night. The food- now I am a very fussy eater and with being pregnant there wasn't a lot I could personally eat. There was a lot of food to choose from but I didn't really enjoy most of the food, the show cooking area was great though! The food wasn't always labelled so had to double check with waiting staff and chefs with my allergens and with being pregnant. With having knowledge of the hospitality industry I understand how busy all the staff was at breakfast and dinner times, the staff were clearly always super busy, hats off to the waiters and especially the chefs!!! Such a hard job to feed such a big and busy hotel and keeping the food areas very clean, all chefs wore gloves and changed them all the time! The pools- the kids pool was great!! Such a good idea to put the kids slides in all the kids were having a ball! The bigger pool was very rowdy and shabby, typical holiday makers rushing for the sun loungers you get this everywhere you go. The only thing I thought was bad was that there was groups of adults with no children rushing and getting 6-10 sun loungers at a time at the children's pool, this wasn't fair on family's with children wanting to go to the CHILDRENS pool. The lifeguards were AMAZING! There's one guy who we seen everyday hasn't had a day off in the 10 days we was there. They was on the ball with everything! Getting in the pool going down the slides and interacting with the kids, always helping the kids and adults out with first aid if needed. There was regular staff cleaning around the pool areas every hour. Even the life guards where seen clearing up a few glasses. Can't really rate the entertainment as we was out most nights. Overall a ok hotel. I wouldn't come back though. I would definitely recommend going all inclusive as the drinks we was buying changed prices throughout the day which I thought was strange. With being on half board basis I asked if I could buy some food from the pools snack area and was told no I wasn't all inclusive - I did say again I wanted to PAY for food and was still told no. The hotels staff was more attentive to the all inclusive guests and not half/full board basis guests. Collapse

We stayed in the Rosamar for 11nights in August. Hotel very clean, food very nice which included a different cuisine each night. The desserts are amazing!! There was a good variety of drinks throughout the day and branded alcohol was available at a reasonable price, however we didn't need to do this due to the amount of choice we had with their local larger and spirits. Nice sized pool including a small water park for children. There was also plenty of sun beds for everyone. The hotel gave strict instructions about reserving sun beds but like usual British folk on holiday this was ignored which did make it difficult if you wanted to sun bath in the mid day sun. The hotel did however have plenty of plastic chairs around the pool side which could be used on temporary basis whilst you waited for a Sun bed. The only negative to this hotel was the waiting time for the lift. This hotel has 16 floors and this lift operates this up to the top floor and down to -1, which is the restaurant area, in some instances we would either walk to our floor (floor 6) or have to wait a rather long time to get to this floor. I am not sure how the hotel could amend this, but this was the only negative we could reflect upon. The entertainment throughout the day was really good, especially for young children. There was plenty of singing, dancing, pool activities and other activities going on throughout the day. The evening entertainment was also very good which provided something different each night. On a Thursday we had the joy of been part of a Foam party, which was called a Pepsi Party! This was great fun! All the staff were very efficient, helpful, friendly and welcoming from the first day to the last day at the hotel. We Would with confidence recommend to anyone. Collapse
