We stayed here with our 2 kids aged 12 and 9 in April this year. We stayed in a suite, so we had 2 bedrooms, one for the kids (with 2 single beds) and 1 for us - rooms are very small, but comes with decent storage space, bathrooms are also very small. The bathrooms also have sliding doors and ours kept sliding open - while the staff promptly sent someone to check on it, they confirmed to us that nothing could be done and that since we were anyways 'a family' there wasn't much of a problem? Family or not, I think we all would prefer to use a bathroom without it sliding open! The staff did suggest at the end of the first day that they could find us another room. But by then it didn't make sense. The hotel is located in a beautiful neighbourhood and my husband and me did a morning run there which was lovely! But do keep in mind that this (Lido station) is located about 45 min of a public boat ride from the main train station. This is also a good 20 min away by boat from the main sight seeing attractions like the cathedral and the Doge's palace etc. So you would spend more time (and money) to reach these places. If you are planning to stay here, please make sure you take a boat pass the moment you get out of the train station (appropriate for the number of days of stay) instead of single ticket each time that works out much more expensive. Please also mention the age of your children when taking passes since there are discounts etc. Another great secret we discovered was a lovely quiet beach within 15 min of walking from the hotel! The kids loved that time in the water and we enjoyed the quietness and the calm :) If you are staying here esp with kids don't miss spending time at the beach! All in all the stay was pleasant. Breakfast was a cosy warm affair and the staff unobtrusively serve you hot coffee and tea - I especially loved the warm and kind lady in charge of breaky, always smiling and greeting people warmly :) Collapse

The staff at the hotel are all really friendly. The hotel is so easy to find and the rooms are all tastefully decorated and clean; with a nice modern shower. Breakfast was mainly cakes and pastries, it’s nothing amazing but does suffice. A safe is available for €2 a day. The only complaints about the hotel are that the air con is useless, thankfully it wasn’t too hot when we were there but if you went in the height of summer I can imagine you’d really struggle. The beds were also quite hard, but we still managed to sleep ok. The hotel is situated literally right in front of the vaporetto stop. It takes around 10 minutes to get into the centre of Venice and you purchase a travel card, €30 for 2 days, €40 for 3 days and so on. These also run regularly. The Lido itself has a good choice of bars and restaurants, as well as a big sandy beach. We found staying on the Lido relaxing as we were able to easily escape how busy Venice was but also be so accessible at the same time. We opted for the bus from the airport which cost us €57 return and took an hour. Would recommend this hotel highly, especially if you want somewhere to use as a base. Especially for the price you cannot complain. There is a supermarket about 20metres away and a 6 pack of water is €1.50 which is handy. Collapse

We have visited Venice many times before and choose to stay on the Lido. Our stay at this hotel was the best by far; the Venetian style room was amazing with a view over the lagoon. The room was very clean and well furnished. The choice at breakfast was plenty. The staff were friendly. The wifi worked! It is a short walk to the beach. There are many places to eat and drink nearby. We would definitely recommend this to others and will be staying here on our next trip to Venice. Collapse

We chose to stay on the island of Lido for the second time in a row as we traveled by car. We really liked this hotel. It's located directly on the water front a stone's throw from the main vaporetto stop, which is really convenient. The hotel building is well kept, with flowers, pergolas and tables in front. It excludes old world charm. The lobby and the rooms are furbished in old venetian style, are clean and not too small. Our room had terrace and looked on the seaside, which provided us with most gorgeous views of the laguna and Venice itself. In the distance you could see the Saint Mark's square. The sunsets were also amazing. Even if you don't have the front view from your room, you can enjoy the view from each floor as they have big windows facing the Venice, or you can go to the first floor terrace or top floor communal terrace which also offer amazing views. Breakfast was also great, lots of choice of hot and cold dishes and was self service. Venice is only a short vaporetto ride away. If a choose to stay on the Lido again, this hotel is my only preference. Collapse
