Me and my boyfriend booked a whole weeks stay at the renaissance Republique to enjoy the scenic views of beautiful Paris. It's located in a really beautiful area, close to metros, shops and food restaurants all in walking distance. Upon our arrival, the staff were so friendly and pleasant and were surprised to find out that they upgraded our room which was really nice of them to do. The room itself is very cosy and cute, big bathroom, plenty of room space and free complimentary water on your bed side table. Although I was a bit disappointed of the view but that doesn't matter as we spent half of the day outside of your hotel room. This hotel is rated a 5* which I myself would rate it as a 4. My only downfall was the breakfast, not many options to choose from and if you chose to stay with bed and breakfast there's only a small section of the breakfast menu you get for free, the only side you have to pay. Also the tv in your room let's you connect your phone so you can watch Netflix, YouTube etc which is handy if you don't understand French tv. Also you get free bike rentals you just ask at the reception and they hand you out bikes at no cost. The hotel spa and gym was incredible, with two steam rooms and a Jacuzzi a perfect way to wind down after a day of exploring. I would definitely recommend this hotel, daily service and pleasant staff. Collapse

My husband and I spent a week at this lovely hotel. The staff - from the concierges, to the front desk people, to the waiters at the restaurant - were all extremely helpful and welcoming. Our room was tastefully decorated and comfortable, and even though the hotel is in a busy section of Paris, it was absolutely quiet, The room was promptly cleaned daily when we went to breakfast. Speaking of breakfast (included in the price of our room), it was fabulous. I don't know what the bad reviews were all about, but if there was anything amiss, they have certainly fixed it. Morning after morning, the service was excellent (very prompt, amenable to English-speakers) and the food was delicious, prepared fresh and made-to-oirder, accompanied by a fresh fruit cup and bread basket. The scrambled eggs were especially delicious. Hotel is a half block from the metro too, so very convenient location. We would definitely stay here again!! Collapse
lovely smaller hotel in Republique area

It is the very first negative review I wrote to a Renaissance hotel. Before my arriving, I received a welcoming email from front desk department, asking for my arriving time(a template of course). I replied with my arriving time wondered whether there would be some arrangement or upgrade in my stay, as I am a platinum member of Marriott. NO FURTHER REPLY THEN. This hotel was my first step of the whole trip, where I would spend nearly 12 days in France and Italy. I came with some basic expectation like staying at a Marriott group hotel, while the receptionist made me feel repelling. I greeted this girl warmly, in a suitably polite way in English. She looked at me, saying "welcome back" (confusing, it was my first time to visit this hotel) Then she said there was a surprise in my lovely room and hoped me enjoy this trip. Unfortunately, after entering my room, I found it was the original room I reserved online, and it was the most strangely located one, on the first floor, with NO VIEW at all. Then, I found bath amenities were used, half-left in the terribly limited bathroom. Besides that, no welcome letter, no property introduction could be found in the room. Then I went back to the front desk, inquiring the situation. No explanation was given, no apology was made. I was not clear about what happened at all. Then the breakfast. For members, they offer a complimentary one, that we could choose dishes from their menu. The fact was after my order, I spent nearly thirty minutes waiting for my omelette, and nearly an hour waiting for my salad. I didn't get my salad eventually before I left. Things made me not interested in exploring the beauty of the hotel and decided to check out early after my breakfast. All in all, if you do not want your holiday and lovely emotion spoiled, try to avoid this property, other Marriott brand hotels will be better. By the way, the only helpful staff was a lovely girl named Amber. Maybe she was the only surprise during this stay. Collapse

Situated just of the Republique Square - 2 minute walk. Had dinner in the hotel restaurant which was OK - young waiter messed up the order (he didn't write anything down !!) but all sorted in the end. Good food, slightly overpriced
