From the moment we walked in, until we left, we felt so special! Thank you for a lovely stay and treating us so special. Our initial greeting from the front desk, to the bartender, we could't find one thing to complain about. The hotel is clean, well kept. The room was spectacular, a junior suite was spacious and was oh so nice! the bed was superior in comfort. The bathroom was two/split, which gave some privacy! Shower was big, and tub was large enough for a soak. The suite was clean, clean and tidy upon arrival, two closets and all the extras you need (hair dryer, iron/board). I loved the extra outlets on the night stand. Collapse

This hotel has a lot going for it, but it also has some problems. We were staying there since we had an early flight the next morning. We tried to check in at 3:30 and were told that no rooms were available yet. Not a big deal, since we could just wait in the lobby. But this hotel doesn’t have a lobby. There are 2 benches near the front desk and that’s it. The bellman suggested that we could wait in the restaurant, which was OK but not as comfortable as a lobby would be. We got to our room and it was nice. We had a view of the harbor and part of the waterfront district. The bed was comfortable but the pillows (foam by request) were really flat. The bathroom was good. I did notice that there was a connecting door to the room next door, but usually that is not a problem. We hung out for a while and then went out to dinner. When we got back, we noticed that the TV in the next room (the one with the connecting door) was on at a loud volume. So loud that we could understand the words that were being said on the show. Nevertheless, we tried to get off to sleep. There was a dental convention in town, and they had booked lots of rooms in the hotel. This became important because when inebriated dental workers showed up on our floor at 1:00 AM they were quite loud and woke both of us up. They were far too loud for a hotel at any hour, let alone in the wee hours of the morning. I got up and was ready to say something to them, but they were dispersing into their rooms by the time I got out into the hall. But we noticed that the TV next door was still on and still at a very high volume. I called down to the front desk and they sent someone up. The person knocked 3 times, but no one answered the door. Then we heard the phone ring, but no one answered that either. Finally, Security came up and knocked/pounded on the door stating “Security”. Finally, a response came from within the room. The person staying there seemed very confused at the start of the conversation. Eventually, she got the message and said that she agreed that the TV was too loud, but she didn’t know how to lower the volume (button on the remote, turn the TV off, unplug it from the wall all are options that sprang to my mind, but clearly did not occur to her). They got the volume lowered or turned off and we managed to fall back to sleep. Until 1:45 AM when another group showed up partying in the hallway. Realistically, this is both not cool in a hotel of this caliber nor is it reasonable that the rooms were so poorly built that we could clearly hear people in the hallway. Again, we finally got out of bed to go talk to them, but they were ready to go to sleep (or pass out). We never did get back to sleep then and ended up checking out a little earlier than expected. For the price and the branding, it is reasonable to expect a better constructed hotel that has more noise abatement. I am a Platinum Elite member who has stayed in Marriott branded hotels all around the world and I have had better experiences in a Fairfield Inn than I did in this Renaissance property. It was a major disappointment. Collapse
