Stayed 3 nights in executive room. Room was recently renovated and very clean; spacious for Europe even with a extra cot in the room for my son. King size bed was super comfy. Everyone at the front desk was friendly - especially Matthijs who checked us in. Bathroom was clean and well appointed. Housekeeping very nice as well. Would definitely stay here again. Collapse

I have been at the Renaissance several times and, by far, this has been the worst. The good things: location, friendly reception team, nice setting. The bad things: - They are going through a significant refurbishment, so one of the elevators batteries work for a limited number of floors, however - and here is the problem - the second battery of 2 lifts, only one of them worked. The second one was permanently in -2 floor. Despite I claimed several times at reception, I've always got the same answer: we will inform maintenance. In my 5 days stay, nothing happened. I personally opted to use the stairs, while others with luggage did not have the luxury of that. - Air conditioning: I put the temperature at 23º C / 73º F the first time I arrived. At night the real temperature was 26º C / 79º F, so I asked the AC to be checked and corrected. They did. In the remaining 4 days, it was impossible to go above 19º C / 66º F. This was an old problem of this hotel. Seems that they never fixed it. - And the cherry on the cake: the new bathrooms! As said, they are refurbishing the hotel. At first glance, it was a very nice surprise to see the new bathrooms. However, one thing is what the architects had in mind (something beautiful) and another thing is how practical it is! Big difference. They have taken off the bathtub (a good thing to me) and put a shower with a bath screen. Two problems: (a) the bath screen does not have anything at the bottom, not even normal silicone sealer, so the water goes to the other side where the toilet is - not nice - and (b) the floor of the shower is at the same level of the rest of the bathroom, so the water goes beyond the supposed limits. I asked 2 or 3 times to do something to the drain. It was done but to no avail. So, I enjoyed a nice pool at the bathroom. All in all, I doubt I will ever return to it. Collapse

We travel a lot and stay in Marriott properties all over the world. This one has a great location and wonderful helpful staff. The room, however, was disappointing and we had been told it was an upgrade. I am not sure what a normal room would be like. The view from the 10th floor was stunning and I enjoyed being able to open a window as the room was quite warm. The bed was a small queen, if queen it was. The entire room was small with a small bathroom. The real problem was the shower. It was either scalding or cold. It was nearly impossible to find the right temperature in the morning. At night, it was fine. There were nice toiletries but it did not compensate. They had a lovely buffet breakfast with helpful and friendly staff. Alvaro served us the first day and we enjoyed his company immensely. Due to the location, we might give them another chance but it was not my favourite experience by a long shot. Collapse

We stayed in this hotel for three nights. On arrival the Concierge and Reception were delightful. (We are Elite members, I may add.) Anyway we had a very good first impression. The room we had (609) was a lovely size. But here things got a bit impractical. Let's start with the bedroom. The bed, whilst large had a cover on that was too small, so that either my husband or I were left cold in the night! Also Housekeeping would do well to teach their room cleaners how to make a bed properly! It's not much fun getting up in the middle of the night to re-make a bed! The bathroom, also whilst lovely had a very impractical wet room area. The shower subsequently flooded the bathroom floor. There's a design fault somewhere there!! But for us, the cardinal sin was coming back to our room at 4pm on a Saturday to find our room hadn't been made up. On phoning Housekeeping I was told that that was usual for a weekend!!! I went mad, and demanded to speak to a manager. I was put through to Marc, who was most apologetic, and invited unto the Bar for a drink whilst he arranged for our room to be made up forthwith. Now Marc gets a gold star from me. He dealt with the problem forthwith, and offered us a drink as compensation. That is excellent customer service and the other staff within this hotel would do well to emulate him. I was initially furious, but he defused my fury instantly. Well done Marc! The hotel's location is very central, with good public transport nearby too. All in all not a bad stay, but there are several issues that the hotel could improve on. Collapse
