I placed a hold on a room a few weeks ago and family issues got in the way of going to Boston. My husband was placed on active duty and I forgot about the reservation. After receiving the room charge on my credit card I tried calling for a credit and none was given. There is a no refund policy that I was never told of and now we are stuck with a $163 bill. The manager was arrogant, rude and disrespectful to me and my husband when he called. I will never use any of their hotels ever again. We are frequent travelers, they will lose our business. Collapse

My overall summary is that for the price, this hotel was a very good value relative to services provided- and they worked to support the needs of the many runners staying there. I would stay a this hotel again on marathon weekend without even considering other places. The hotel was obviously built when individual room doors opened to the outside and around an inside atrium with a pool, and then later on hallways were created with pre-fab materials, but they are not heated or cooled. Each room has its own heat & A/C so hallway temperature isn't such an issue, but don't expect to walk to breakfast in pajamas. It rained all day Marathon Monday and hallway carpet near doors got wet but no rain came inside. For marathon weekend, the hotel really did what it could to support runners. They normally only have free airport and UMASS/JFK shuttle service, but they expanded this to taking runners to the race expo convention center and start breakfast early on marathon Monday. Things were a little chaotic marathon weekend, but if you were a little patient, you could get where you needed to go. (As an aside, on the Tuesday after, when everything should have been back to normal, shuttle dispatch was still chaotic. This is not something with the drivers as they do the best they can; rather, shuttles are overbooked and drivers are assigned tasks in addition to driving with not enough time to do everything. Again, if you have a little time, the shuttle is good because it is free, but if you need dependability, arrange a car service.) Breakfast is a average plus- scrambled eggs, real butter, oatmeal cooking (not instant), toast, pastries, coffee, real cream, and waffle makers. No bacon or sausage for meat eaters, but not the completely sugary, processed carb heavy, fake food breakfast of other places. Our room was somewhat updated, newer furniture, carpet needed replacing but was clean, shower/tub was a prefab unit and a little worn but clean. Tile floor in bath area was newer and well done. Fridge was enclosed which kept its noise down. Bed mattresses were newer and comfortable. Linens/towels were newer and clean. We declined housekeeping, but staff quickly brought more towels when we asked for them. Room heat and A/C unit was a little loud, but not too much different than other in-room units. Blackout blinds on the window kept the room DARK at night. It was possible to hear light traffic noise as a major roadway is near the hotel, but the heating unit drowned this out. There was plenty of space to put stuff. We needed to hang up wet running gear as well as store clean gear in addition to regular clothing. The hotel is in a complex with a bowling alley, which has a restaurant, a brew pub, and a candy store. There really aren't other restaurants close by except fast food. There is a grocery store within walking distance. At the bowling alley restaurant, I had an entree salad for a lunch and for an evening meal a burger and sweet potato fries and two of the brew pub beers. All food was pretty reasonably priced and they used quality ingredients- better lettuce (not iceberg) for the salad and the hamburger patty looked like it was made by hand with real cheese on top and a bakery style bun (think Ruby Tuesday). Decent portions. Collapse
Nice Enough For Short Stay

The hotel was clean and the staff was polite and welcoming. However, the hallways were very cold and our room was near the pool. The rain hitting the enclosure area was very loud.
