We stayed here for six nights and enjoyed our home-away-from-home very much. From the time we walked in, to the time we checked out, nothing impressed us more than the Staff. EVERY single one of them – from the Bellboys to the Concierge, and all the way up to the Manager – had ready, welcoming smiles and pleasantries to exchange. Human Resources, or the Hiring Manager, nailed this very important aspect perfectly. Kudos!! Our check-in was extremely efficient—a special ‘Thank You’ to Julianna and Jessyca. We were also fortunate to see them on several other occasions, and they could not have been more wonderful, or more accommodating and helpful, in making suggestions and reservations for great Restaurants, in giving us maps and locations for the many things to do in the Old City, and even in providing us with umbrellas when we needed them on one night. They were delightful and superbly people-oriented. We loved it when they acted like family, and went out of their way to make us feel very welcomed. The rest of the staff also contributed to keep the atmosphere friendly, vibrant and lively, yet extremely professional. It was nice to be asked every morning if we had slept well, and to be greeted cheerily every time we returned from our trips, tours and dinners. Hands down, this was the BEST staff we have ever encountered in our numerous hotel stays. Our Room was a corner one-bedroom suite with a King bed. It was spacious and comfortable with ample room for the two of us to spread out in. Tons of storage in both the rooms kept all our things neatly hidden and out of sight. The bed was very comfortable, typical of a Marriott bed, and one of the reasons that we like this brand in Hotels. We also had a sofa, a coffee table, two large chairs, an ottoman, glass and wood side tables, a settee in the bedroom, mini-fridge, coffee maker, two closets with plenty of hangars in each, two large TV’s, plus a working desk with plenty of outlets everywhere. The Wi-Fi was strong, and all our devices worked well without any interference. We could not have selected a better place to stay. Unfortunately, we did not have a view of the Old City, but were able to watch some lovely sunsets from the large window in the bedroom. Traffic on Avenue Honore-Mercier right below us was heavy at times, but we were high enough for it not to be disruptive. The Bathroom was large. Everything was clean, plus maintained very nicely. What was impressive here was the shower flow and the instant hot water. The tub was large with good drainage, and therefore it could contain that ample flow of water without a mess everywhere. There was only one Elevator, but we never had a problem waiting for it. Thank Goodness! The location was outstanding – right on the Place D’ Youville and steps away from the St. Jean’s Gate. It was no more than a fifteen-minute walking distance to each and every place that we wanted to visit. Taxis and Uber were also always readily available when we did not feel like walking all the way to the River. Rates to the Airport were reasonable. This will definitely be our Hotel of choice when we return to Quebec City. We loved our stay here, and have no hesitation in whole-heartedly recommending it to other visitors. Collapse

Located just across the street from one of the stone gates to the old city, we loved this little Marriott. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. The front desk and concierge were extremely helpful as we planned our walks, tours and dining. The rooms were clean, comfortable and very nice! Breakfast was delicious. One tip - easy and less costly to park yourself just across the street in the public lot. Collapse

We had reservations for 5 nights at the nearby Hotel Palace Royal and got to Quebec a day early and couldn't change our reservation so we stayed at the Marriott. Room was nice and beds were comfortable, bell boy was very helpful with the luggage and valet parking was nice (there is no parking at the hotel so the valet uses a nearby public garage). Would have stayed longer but we had non refundable reservations elsewhere. Collapse

Good hotel choice with good front desk service. It was my cousin's birthday, and wrote to concierge via the App a special request. they sent up a small bottle of bubbly and some really good chocolates. It was very sweet of them especially we were only staying 1 night in these very high season due to the festival. on top of it, it was 5 mins walk from Les Plaines, so it was very convenient! Collapse

I spent a few days at this hotel for a combination of work and fun. The location is spectacular as others have mentioned...literally across the street from the entrance of the walled city but outside the wall-to-wall fanny packs and selfie sticks. It's one of the smaller hotels in the Marriott full-service empire clocking in at just over 100 rooms. That was a positive for the most part. It's an older building so not the most structurally efficient in terms of navigation (strange walks from the elevator, somewhat odd orientation). This is not a big deal. The rooms are standard-issue Marriott. Nothing to write home about but not problematic either. The carpets are in desperate need to replacement and probably have been that way for at least three or four years. One elevator for the building in insufficient. Again, I understand that there are limitations structurally but it doesn't work. Lastly, the token credit toward breakfast is not a reasonable substitution for the lack of concierge lounge. The positives outweigh the negatives. The service - across the board - is excellent. Front desk friendly. Housekeeping had a fabulous knack for knowing when I was (briefly) out of the room and managed to clean in that window. The gym was well maintained with new-ish cardio equipment and was clean. Internet was consistently solid. Power options were numerous throughout the room including USBs by the bedside. HVAC was dated and loud but functional. All in all, I'm please with my stay and it really felt like a smaller European hotel than a Marriott. Was it charming? No. Was it a place I'll long remember? Nope. But, it was a totally serviceable solution in a perfect location in a wonderful city. Collapse
