The hotel location is reasonably located, although a little distant from the tube stations. We should have put more thought into where we stayed. Doing so would have saved on excessive leg work. It’s never a disappointment to visit London and will be doing so again very soon. The hotel unfortunately didn’t live up to its description in the brochure, I would describe it a looking tired, still adequate thought. The staff were pleasant and attentive and are the most positive memory we will take from the experience of staying there... congratulations to Super Break - very efficient service and will use them again in the future. Good luck to all who weekend in London, hope you enjoy as much as we did. Collapse

For the activities we chose the location of this hotel was good. Situated between Piccadilly and Park Lane in the Shepherd Market area. Good range of eating places. Hotel bijou and compact in parts, but for a long weekend was ideal. Would use again. The Rubens exhibition at RA was worth a visit as was the visit to Churchill's war rooms. Would definitely use this hotel again as well as take time out for a meal at Sofra on Shepherd Street. Collapse

Not much going for it apart from the location and at £173 for room-only its expensive. For the same money you could stay in the nearby and much nicer Hilton Hyde Park Doubletree and get taxis into Mayfair. The only high spot was the friendly and helpful Spanish Reception lady Jenny, who I would give 4 out of 5. Collapse

Firstly, the location of this hotel is brilliant- very central for everything. Check in was very slow, there was 1 person in front of us and it took 15 mins to check in. Our 1st room had a broken bed / broken Aircon and windows that were screwed shut. The room was also tiny and not representative of the pictures at all. Our 2nd room was perfect in size but again very worn down with windows screwed shut / Aircon that made loud squealing noises every 2 minutes and shower knobs that cam off in your hand. Overall this is a very poor hotel that is in desperate need of an overhaul and we would probably not stay again due to this. Collapse

The location is prime, right behind the Hilton Park Lane which is way more expensive. The rooms are small but clean, they could use some refurbishing but overall a great value for the money. The location cannot be beat. Request a room on the Mews side instead of the Street side as that side is loud. Otherwise, room on a higher floor. The service was great, the staff very friendly. Would definitely stay there again. Collapse

As part of a London theatre break I chose this hotel as our "base camp" while we explored and enjoyed London's attractions. I'm an organized kind of guy and so must have booked and sorted everything about a month ago before this weekend, about a week or so to go I contacted the hotel direct to double check the reservation and was told we were only booked for one night and not two - a good start. With help from the package deal vendor this got sorted promptly, this was just the start of the storm... After getting off at Green Park underground station and heading towards the Japanese Embassy I knew from my mapping research prior to the trip we were close. The hotel is set back through some side streets but is easy to spot by the curly green shrubs outside. The male reception clerk signed us in, handed over the key and up to the second floor we went - now I will mention at this point that when booking I did make a few requests of a quiet room and asked the staff if they could do anything extra special as it was my partner's Birthday on the arrival date. Opening the door to a half dressed, large man and his male friend was not our expectation, my partner thought the voices I heard through the door were the next room but I did have a funny feeling they weren't. Back to reception for my complaint on yet another issue. The clerk and his trainee assistant seemed shocked and flustered too and went about getting on the phone to the guest of the room and sorting the conundrum out, we were told to sit in the lounge area and wait, no complimentry drinks, no action for a while and just words of apology, you just don't expect this from a top flight London hotel. After a bit of waiting I stood and put pressure on the staff at the reception desk as we weren't getting anywhere and the clerks were getting flustered with each other obviousky due to an unprofessional lack of communication. Finally we were on our way, another room sorted and my partner's trolley case was even taken politely, oooh they couldn't do enough for us! The flustered clerk personally took us to the room where in the lift I made an apology to the guest who I stepped in on and who had come down to reception on request to sort matters, the clerk, also in the lift looked deshevelled. We get to the new room, tired after travel, waiting around and now already eating into our evening of Birthday dining and London attractions, presented with a single bedded room. We were left in the corridor while the clerk was on the phone behind closed doors. We finally ended up in what was told to us " King Deluxe" and an upgrade over standard accomodation, hmm, didn't feel like a deluxe once in but the fight in me had been exhausted and we wanted to clean up and get out. The clerk couldn't apologise enough in words but again, not backed up with any complimentry actions. The guy couldn't have exited the room faster after sorting us out, stated we can talk to the manager next day to be sorted out with complimentry items to soften the blow. We unpacked and showered, putting up with a shower head that sprayed water from the head and tube seal. During our stay and into the next day we met Calvin/Kalvin/Kelvin, a Manager and Sandya a senior clerk at the desk next day, a massive special thanks to these individuals who spun the weekend around and couldn't be more guest accomodating. In less than 10mins of chatting, looking at the notes of the drama and hearing us out, Sandya had put us in room 500 which had new carpet, new A/C, mini fridge, other features and felt more like the promised "King Deluxe", a bottle of complimentry wine was sent to us and our cases were taken into the new room upon us returning to the hotel today. Can't fault the breakfasts, presentation and breakfast staff either, who were efficient and kept things stocked and fresh. The hotel itself was cosy and privately situated away from the bustle of a London main road. It's a shame we couldn't have been sorted with room 500 on the first night, my mood on Friday was a sad one as I put so much prep into this for my partner's Birthday, ironing out any creases along the way. Everything at Park Lane Mews was out of my control and left with the professional staff, but in my opinion the male clerk in question was unprofessional, all charm, chat and no action and couldn't handle the role with a guest's interest at heart. It really was Sandya and Calvin/Kalvin/Kelvin that at least turned it around and gave us a better second night stay. Collapse
