I stayed here for 3 nights with my aunty. The hotel was lovely and very central, only a 5 minute stroll to the old town square in a relatively quiet side street. The staff were very helpful and pleasant, and the hotel never seemed busy with lots of tourist like some of the chain hotels do. It is an old historic hotel with charm and character. It is more than 100 years old and still has many original features. Our twin room had two small balconies which caught the sun on an afternoon, although there were no seats on the balcony I used the one at the dressing table which just fit nicely. The hotel had a lovely bar area which was always quiet and the breakfast which was included was very impressive with an extensive choice - you could even have a glass of champagne! The room and bathroom were both extremely clean and our beds were very comfortable. The only negative is that, despite most visitors being English, the only English TV channels were BBC World News and CNN so there was nothing to watch on an evening. The hotel had free wifi and if you are IT literate then you may be able to download movies from a tablet but were are not! We would definitely stay here again. Collapse

Although the hotel was expensive and my room 312, particularly the bathroom, was very small even for one person, it was quiet, clean and the bed very comfortable. The hotel is in pristine condition with free wi-fi and an excellent breakfast in a beautiful dining room. The location is perfect, just a five minute walk from the Old Town Square. Unlike some of the other reviews I have read, I found the service to be good, but not particularly friendly. However I think that is probably due to the culture of the country. Perhaps they found it odd that a woman was traveling alone! I would definitely recommend the hotel and stay there again, but only with a larger room. Collapse

We stayed for four nights at this splendid hotel with a great deal of charm. The interior elements of Art Nouveau create a wonderful ambiance and you feel as if you are transported back to another age. This feeling is enhanced by the excellent service be it from Monika on reception when we arrived & departed -or the staff for breakfast or dinner - never mind the doormen. A building is a building but what really makes an hotel is the quality of the service -this was topnotch. Our room was spacious and well furnished -though may be for some tastes the mattress was a little soft.Nice sized bathroom with plenty of space to put your own stuff. Huge TV with a number of English channels plus you got your personal wifi code from the TV - wifi signal good. Fantastic selection at breakfast which we made into a very leisurely affair. We enjoyed our stay very much and left with very pleasant memories of a wonderful hotel in the lovely city of Prague -could not have asked for more ! Collapse

Upon entry, you will be greeted by the doorman warmly and promptly, getting your luggage and taking it into the reception. The structures/trimmings on the lobby appeared to have been preserved, including the old style lift, but touched with a little bit of modern. Check in was quick, and the receptionist walked you into your room. The view is stunning especially at night. You can open the window (not suitable with kids), and breathe the air of Prague. You can hear slight noise at night with the windows closed but it’s something you have to trade if you want to see the magnificent structures. Breakfast is excellent with a lot of choices. The waiters/waitresses are very attentive to your needs. The room is slightly bigger for European standards. The bathroom is quite a struggle to get into and out, considering I’m 5’11” and my friend is 6’3”. I forgot my iPad on my way to the airport so I asked the taxi driver which I booked thru the hotel (highly advisable) to turn back and the doorman was waiting for me with my room key so that I can easily get up to my room without delay. I asked for an early check in with a surcharge (if you won’t mind an extra fee for it, if it was available) chocolates and fresh fruits (which was delivered after our arrival, not waiting inside your room). The male receptionist on the late night of the 30th of April was on his mobile phone when we arrived (I am not sure about their mobile phone policy whilst at work). When we asked about parking since my friend and I decided to rent a car overnight so that we can travel countryside, he said they don’t have any and we have to book in advance. He did not offer any alternative at all. This prompted my friend to go home to his flat since he lives in Prague, to be able to park our rented car. This was our fault in our way since we should have asked about parking before hand. However, the particular front line staff gave us the impression that he didn’t care since he was on his phone. When we went down to walk my friend out so that he can drive back to his place, the said staff was again on his mobile phone, smiling as if he was texting someone. Overall, a good stay. It’s well priced for its location, breakfast and amenities. Great service from their waiters/waitresses and door man. Would have improved with the arrival of pre-ordered fruits and chocolates especially after flying. Would have given 4 stars but due to the male receptionist’s attitude, thus, a 3 star. Collapse
