We have stayed here twice before for family weddings and we are back again for a christening. Unfortunately not a great experience. I was delighted when I received a phone call a couple of weeks ago from reservations to confirm the rooms and details of our children so they could upgrade us free of charge. On arrival there was just one staff member on reception we waited a while to be checked in, when we went to the rooms one set of room keys didn't work so we had to go back downstairs. The bed for our youngest child hadn't been made up so I called housekeeping and reception twice each but no one answered the phone. We went downstairs and outside the hotel for dinner, on the way out with still only one (very nice) lady on reception I again waited for a while and then asked for the bed to be made up for our youngest. This had been done on our return. The communal areas/corridors of the hotel have been decorated since our last stay but the rooms we were put in haven't been updated (since 1980 it looks like) apart from the bathroom in 2224. The mattress and beds need replacing and the sash windows need some attention as you can hear everything outside even with them closed. Dreadful nights sleep in an awful bed in a room that desperately needs updating. Breakfast was included in our room rate but apparently a cappuccino for me and hot chocolate for the children are extra and not included and at £3.75 each for a tiny cup this is not what we would expect. If there was another decent hotel nearby we would have chosen to stay there instead. This should not be a 4* hotel. Collapse

There are 3 hotels in Weybridge and Oatlands is def the worst. Our company have a corporate account with Oatlands and given the dilapidation of the property you would expect repeat business users to be given nice rooms! Not here! I have probably stayed in every type of room in this property and all have the same nasty carpet (which feels dirty under foot) and the same horrendously old fashioned bed sheets & covers which even the most appreciative tourist would think is disgusting. The furniture in the rooms is dated and very cheap looking. The chairs don't even fit under the sewing tables propeller and are such an odd shape you can't even hand your coat on them. The dining experience is slow and the food hugely over priced and under whealming. The staff have obviously been told to try and up-sell the dining experience and makes me laugh every time. (If you have to stay here I would recommend a short walk to the Thai or Pub opposite the main entrance) The owners are obviously too artogant to re-invest and will shortly lose their corporate customers. Before management place a response: yes I have stayed in the refurbished rooms and this review applies to those as well. Only stay here if everywhere else is booked. Collapse
Nice on the surface....not so much on the inside

Driving up to the hotel is lovely and the reception is beautiful and very impressive.... but my room looked like it hadn't been updated since 1970 (apart from a snazzy tv). I was horrified when I pulled off the golden bedspread to discover SHEETS AND BLANKETS!!!!! I didn't think hotels had these anymore. And not even soft ones, scratchy sheets. The room was generally scruffy with marked wallpaper and some kind of mould or stain on the ceiling. So so disappointing as it has so much potential and the website only flaunts pictures of the nice updated rooms. Really disappointed Collapse
