Lovely middle aged lady behind the There was a lovely middle aged lady on the bar and then the 6pm shift came on. 3 lads under 20 with spiv hair cuts. Hid in the room off the bar. Ignored many calls to come out and serve by several patrons. We were beginning to wonder if smashing a glass might get their attention. We could hear them sniggering and wispering. Eventually came out. Restaurant not running at that point so no other calls on their time. Other patrons who stay here 3 days a week said,"it is convenient but the service is dreadful" Then it is restaurant time. Strange experience. You stop eating and within 20 seconds, there is an attempt to grab your place. No enquiry if you are finished. Are they paid on peace rates,? The three lads are charmless, very poor social skills, seem to see it as a job to do which is beneath them. If you want a Basil Faulty experience, then come for the laughs and take the piss. Otherwise avoid. Novatel what did you do? Did you take 3 lads off the autistic spectrum rehabilitation scheme? They should be sent to Novatel France for a year to learn how to do their job and if they fail, sack them. No-one asked if the food was OK. To be fair to the chef it was quite good, but the experience was spoiled by the three misfits. Are these the best that Stevenage has to offer in the hospitality industry. If so God help us, they are unemployable. Since when has Cava been a red wine??? which was the response from one of the three musketeers. If the Accor site would take comments or phone easily, I would have done it through that site. But I could not make it work. 648292895 Accor number 648292895 Collapse

Very nice modern hotel ideally locate just off the M1 and great for an overnight stop and visiting many local attractions. We were on a Coach Tour so difficult to assess some aspects of the hotel as working to a price but hotel very clean and staff very helpful. Restaurant light and airy and good service, particularly Steve who made everyone most welcome. Collapse

Arrived to a busy car park but later we found out there was an over flow but no signs so unaware till saw that from our room.Reception staff were more bothered about getting a £50 deposit then getting us to our room.Been nice if we were asked if we needed any help and if the lift was better maintained s it was clearly not working correctly. The room it self was spacious and had clearly recently been refurbished. The sofa was a odd choice as was the location of the tea making tray.A kettle really needs to be near a plug to operate so had to be moved each time.In the evening the reception seemed to of lacked staff with irrate customers trying to check in for twenty minutes plus. Then we found the lift was broken and was never fixed over the rest of the weekend so total pain when leaving. We did eat out as the breakfast was very over priced and the feed back about the meals in general we were not not value for money. The car park was poorly laid out with car parking on double yellows making it tricky to get out and the bays were small. There was a over flow cark park which was along way from the entrance in the wind and rain. With rubbish spilling out the bins gave the appearance of a very untidy kept hotel.
