The Hotel is in a good location close to the M1 although this does make for a noisy night if you have the windows open which we had to do as the rooms were very hot and stuffy. The hotel unfortunately has a heating system which is operated centrally so you have limited control over the temperature of the room. The hotel reception were very helpful when we complained about the heat of the room and did turn down the hotel temperature. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was of a good standard although the cooked food needed topping up more frequently as there were a number of empty dishes when we went up for our full English which took a while to be refilled. It's not a bad hotel but we probably wouldn't stay there again. Collapse

Ideally situated not far from the M1 set in a quiet location with ample free parking space. I stayed for an overnight which was booked at short notice. I was given a "basement" room at the end of the corridor which looked on to the main road. Neither of these are endearing features of any room but on this occasion I was pleasantly surprised. There was no road noise despite the road being very busy especially in the morning and being downstairs wasn't an issue as there is stair and lift access back to reception. The room was generally in good condition, bearing in mind this is a popular hotel. Bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows. Tea and coffee making facilities are available in the room as is a small mini bar. However, my mini bar only had two small bottles of, chargeable, water but plenty room for cans, small bottles, nibbles. Bathroom was clean and tidy. Powerful shower and ample hot water. Having the toilet in a separate room is an unusual feature and seems a bit old fashioned/primitive but it is what it is. Breakfast is buffet style with orders taken for some items. Plenty of choice both hot and cold and the restaurant staff work hard to ensure nothing runs out and clearing tables. I had the cooked breakfast which was very good. My only criticism of the breakfast would be the lack of flavour in the orange and grapefruit juices. Collapse

My teenage daughter and I stopped overnight enroute to an event at Loughborough University. Room was spacious comfortable and had a good sized fridge which was really hand with complimentary mineral water. Loads of hanging and storage space and good free WiFi with lots of sockets/chargers. Our room (326) was above the entrance and we could see the motorway but slept well with no noise disturbance. Great bathroom with huge walk-in shower (rainfall overhead and regular shower head). Room had camomile and peppermint tea as well as the usual - very welcome for a late evening arrival! Breakfast was fabulous. Egg order promptly taken and delivered. Fresh fruit salad, grapefruit, good yoghurt and juice choice. NIce bread rolls. All topped of with very pleasant staff. I can honestly say breakfast was better then in many 4 star business and spa hotels - surprised & impressed! Overall fabulous value for money and would definitely recommend. Collapse

When we pulled up outside my heart sank. It looked very tired and 40 years out of date. Well I was in for a shock. Inside they have spent quite a bit of money...don't get me wrong its not luscious carpets and handcrafted furniture, its modern, clean and well presented. The rooms....I was even more surprised. Its the same hotel-ware fittings, every room fitted exactly the same, but it good quality well fitted stuff. The shower room was really good, a powerful shower with both power and monsoon style fittings and very clean For what we paid I definitely can't complain and would stay here again Collapse
