This was our first time staying here but it won't be our last. We all felt so welcome here especially my little girl who was treated like royalty. The hotel was in impeccable condition. Our room was also kept to the highest of standards with so much room, perfect for families with little ones who like to spread themselves out! We arrived a little late into the evening and was advised that although they had shut the restaurant early due to it being quiet, they would happily open it should we fancy a bite to eat. Nothing seems too much trouble for the staff here and they honestly make the experience so much more. We ended up getting a bite to eat and boy are we glad we did! The burger was unlike anything my other half has tasted before, he couldn't stop praising it and the side of chips that I ordered for myself and my daughter was actually a very generous portion! Breakfast was also a lovely experience with so much to choose from, we all got a little excited at the pancake machine - it's magic! The kids play area is also a great addition to the hotel. My little girl is already begging to return to the interactive table. We cannot wait to return and try out the pool! Keep doing what you're doing Novotel, we've found our favourite hotel in you! Question: When is a hotel pool not a hotel pool?

Answer: when Novotel has a private arrangement with a swim school for non-hotel guests. So, as an Accor member, I searched for hotels with pools for my family, who love a dip on a hot day. I invited another family and both rooms cost £160 a night. Ah! I thought - better check in advance with the hotel that the pool is in use. Yes, I was told. We arrived hot and sticky and ready for a dip. We were told there was a ‘waiting list’ as other children had been waiting longer than us. This was, apparently, because the pool had limited capacity. Fair enough I thought. So we waited. And waited. Especially embarrassing when you have brought your own guests with you. I then noticed through the window that a private swimming teacher was in there taking lessons. So I asked reception. It seems they are told to tell guests that have paid to use the pool that it is ‘busy’ with other guests when it is filled with non-guests under a separate private arrangement with the hotel. I re-checked the website: no mention of the prospect of private lessons- obviously Novotel want to keep this as quiet as possible. So in short, the pool is there for guests to use if someone isn’t paying them more for the privilege. But by the time you find out, of course, they already have your cash. It isn’t good customer relations for paying guests to be treated as second class. It stands to reason that the general manager wasn’t on duty (bank holiday) nor was there any way of contacting Accor customer services by phone. So bye bye Accor, and bye bye Novotel. You’ve lost a loyal customer who has used you for years. Collapse

So you arrive to a woman with a laptop telling you to put your car reg into an ipad she is just stood next to a desk all a bit strange. then she gave me my card and pointed me to a lift. I got to the 1970 room something out of a seedy movie. looked like pebaldashed walls and cielings that was grubby to say the least. all the leaflets where fold/bent again grubby. the phone was going off for no reason no one on the other end so i left that off the hook. so i thought i will try the food. I should have known no one in the resuarant but me. menu so limited so just said the Rib eye please about 2 mins later its done and my god i would not have given this to the dog I could not eat it I will see if i can upload the picture as it was really poor. I left it because it did not have any meat on it. and these people charged us £23 for this mess. To be honest i went back to the room with the phone still ringing for nothing and looked for something to eat in my bag. see what breakfast is like in the morning. others state good size room,I felt like it was a cheap and nasty place to stay and will be reporting back to head office never to book this again. I have stopped at B&Bs that have provided better than this. Ok for truckers and cheap skates. I say give this a wide birth. Collapse

We had a great stay. The hotel had everything you would expect. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. There were hardly any native English speakers among the staff which gave a great mutli-cultural feel to the place. The pool is lovely with nice changing facilities and a gym. Breakfast was super, although the pancake machine broke down, so no pancakes on our final breakfast! Great lunch, dinner and bar choices too. Collapse
