2 night stay as part of a coach tour. Room seemed clean apart from a massive stain on the carpet. Like many previous hotels on this trip there was no power outlet near the bedhead so we had to borrow an extension lead so my husband could use his sleep apnoea machine. This ran across the room so I had to be careful not to trip over it in the night. The lid on the kettle was broken & staff replaced it. I think the kettles are a bad design because the one we had in Novotel Madrid was the same & the lid fell off & scolded my hand, so I was not risking a repeat performance. Breakfast had a reasonable selection, but the hot items were really cold, bacon, eggs, sausages were left on open plates with nothing under them to keep them warm. Bain-Marie’s & lids would help. If food is not kept at the correct temperature it can be a health hazard. There is a supermarket within walking distance if you need provisions for your trip. The tram T3 connecting to The Metro is also nearby. Collapse

Hotel is quite far out of the city, you do have to take the tram and then metro, which can take on avg 45 mins. The hotel itself was clean, but no air conditioning, was told to turn the heat off and open the windows. It was 23 degrees so not very nice and seems as it is on a main road the noise wasn't great . Very basic rooms also. Restaurant was a bit disappointing I had the noodles. my partner had a pizza which was very doughy. For the price pretty poor. Have stayed in many Novotels but have to say this one is a little disappointing. Staff on the plus side are very friendly. Collapse
The worst Novotel hotel

We have stayed in Novotel so many times . Never had a bad experience. The room had no ac in 17 degree temperatures. Literally very difficult to sleep through out the next night. Breakfast was also very poor.

My partner & I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights at the beginning of March & had booked through Expedia. The reason for choosing this hotel was down to cost as hotels further into the city centre were more expensive. It lies in one of the outer suburbs of Barcelona, about 20mins shuttle transfer from the airport & next to the TV3 television studios. The hotel itself is good, clean and has all the facilities you would expect from a ‘corporate’ feeling hotel. There’s a gym, outdoor pool (which wasn’t looking too appealing in early March!) & a small bar. On arrival we paid the €12 per person per day for breakfast (we got it at a discounted rate by paying immediately as normal price was sleep €19). However, gripe number 1 was the quality of the breakfast. There’s lots on offer such as pastries, cereals, juices, cold meats but the limited hot food was very much cold! Cold scrambled eggs, cold bacon, cold cocktail sausages! Not nice. The room (we were in the 5th floor of 7) was decent although the mattress was too hard for my taste. The room was clean and had all the things you’d expect e.g. hairdryer, safe, tea/coffee making facilities etc. Gripe number 2...the room was soooo hot & the air conditioning didn’t work! Overheard another guest making similar complaints. We had to have the window open through the night to let some air in. Customer Service from the hotel receptionists was superb though. Friendly, can speak good English, accommodating, extremely helpful in directing you to places on maps etc. Couldn’t fault them. Our main let down was the distance to travel into Barcelona city centre from the hotel. It’s a 10min walk to the nearest tram stop (line T3), a 7-9 stop journey on the tram to the Metro (underground) and a further longish journey to the city centre. Trams leave every 20mins although Metro trains arrive every few mins so you could be waiting & the whole journey took approx 1hr from hotel to city centre. Beware...do NOT get a metro train if Barcelona are playing & after the game has finished. Never been so squashed in all my life. Would recommend purchasing a travel card which covers buses, trams & Metro. We had a 3-day pass for €22 and easily got our monies worth. The transport is punctual & it’s easy to get about. Both tram & Metro is easy to navigate but being in this hotel is too far out for my liking if you want to be in and around the city centre; it takes too much out of your day. I would love to go back to Barcelona one day as there’s so much more to see and experience but my learn from this visit is to stay closer to the centre. Collapse

I had a good stay at this hotel, room was comfortable and staff was good. Its on the outskirt of Barcelona, a 25 minute tram ride to downtown Barcelona. Tram is a few blocks away. But great prices for accomodations, only wished they had more wall outlets adapters for guests. I stayed 4 nights there and had to go buy one in order to charge my phone. Other hotel i stayed in madrid had adapters available for guests. But other than that everything was good. Collapse
