Hotel overall was great. After a long flight it was nice for a staff member to be attentive on arrival, check in was prompt and hassle free. Breakfast was excellent and seating area was clean and staff was courteous.

The NH Milano Machiavelli is a 10 minute walk from Milano Centrale station, pulling hand luggage over Milan's uneven, cobbled streets. It's a three minute walk to Metro line 3 at Repubblica and, if you want to sample the bustling atmosphere of the city, a very leisurely 30 minute walk to the Duomo. Though the rooms aren't fully equipped with the modern style fittings of some NH hotels, the standard is high and the rooms are clean, comfortable and spacious and the free wi-fi worked well. The buffet breakfast spread is the same as all other NH hotels I've used - providing an excellent range for all tastes. I have to admit to never using the bean-to-cup coffee machines in hotels and don't often ask for the waiting staff to make me a coffee from the espresso machine because some hotel staff aren't barrista-trained. However, the staff on duty during my stay were very capable and made an espresso worthy of Milano! Breakfast is included in the booking rate so don't be alarmed that it may look more expensive than some of its NH stablemates (eg NH Milano Concordia). All the staff I came into contact with were friendly and helpful, suggesting a really good local restaurant and offering tips on places to see. An unexpected bonus was the discovery of a bookshop and record store, including lots of vinyl, just around the corner. Highly recommended. Collapse

We stayed 2 nights here. The service was friendly and welcoming, with a particular mention to Roberta in the restaurant/bar who was so friendly and couldn't do enough to help. The room was clean, spacious and tidy with the bed comfy. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the train station, and then another 20 minute walk into the centre of the city (although there is a subway stop near the hotel if you don't want to walk). The walk into the city is really nice through some gardens and quadrilatero della moda where all the high-class shopping is. There's also a variety of restaurants within a short walk from the hotel. Breakfast was great with a wide choice of food for all tastes. This is a great place to stay as a base for exploring Milan. Collapse

I was staying here, room only, as part of a 5 night city break. overall I found the hotel to be really good. contemporary, bright, well maintained and spotless throughout. my room, for the most part, likewise. I was in a single on the second floor. not much of a view but then I didn't plan on staying in my room much. It was a good size for a single, bright and airy with windows that ran the length of the room. a large screen tv, very comfortable double bed, minibar , plenty of cupboard space, desk and separate table and chair. the bathroom was also of a high standard. marble tops, full bath, great shower, toilet and bidet with quality toiletries provided. the rooms had air con, with simple controls which worked very well and the free wifi totally adequate. there were a couple of let downs. first, no tea/coffee facilities. I understand they have them in bigger rooms but with 4*s I think all rooms should have them. secondly, the veneer on top of the mini bar looked like it had suffered water damage and had split and curled up which made It look a little unsightly. finally, the contents of the minibar I thought well overpriced. that often applies at a lot of hotels, but like here, when you've a supermarket within a 100 ft where you can buy everything at a fraction of the price, I can't imagine its good for business. as room only I can't speak as to the breakfast though I did have dinner and a few drinks in the restaurant/bar one night. the food, cooked to order, I found very nice. I went for the gourmet burger and shoelace fries. very tasty. there were also a number of other dishes available and the bar/restaurant area, like the hotel, nicely laid out and decorated. position wise, the hotel is north of the historic centre, it's handy for both tram and underground stations only minutes away. its about 10-15 mins from central station and, for me, a slow walker about 30 mins from both the castle and the duomo. In a lane along side the hotel there is also a taxi rank and in the surrounding area are a number of bars, restaurants and bakeries. overall I had a really enjoyable stay. this also in no small part to the staff, all of whom I came in contact with I found very friendly, efficient and helpful. I would have no qualms about staying in this hotel again next time I was in the city. Collapse
