Holidaying with a toddler probably doesn’t get much easier or more relaxing than this. Our Forest Room was a decent size with a nice view, sturdy z-bed for the toddler and comfy king size bed. There were generous Elemis toiletries in the bathroom (incl hair conditioner), and a well pressured rain shower over the bath. The spa was lovely and not too busy, but the main advantage of coming here are the options for entertaining children on site instead of having to keep them occupied in the bedroom. Our toddler loved the “den” (a nursery-style room with lots of toys), which is available for guests to use outside the 2 staffed sessions, and there’s also a large cinema room and outside playground. We only made use of one staffed den session but were very happy with the care provided, particularly as our toddler wasn’t used to being left with unfamiliar people. In the evenings you can choose between eating earlier with your child, or using one of the provided video monitors to eat later once the kids are asleep. We had a couple of frustrating experiences with the monitors, which didn’t make for the relaxing option it should have been (the reception staff didn’t seem able to offer much assistance, other than rather unhelpfully telling us “we have been having some issues with the WiFi”). I’d recommend testing it out before bedtime - when it did work, the picture quality was very good. Food is tasty, but if you’re not on a package deal it’s very expensive (around £27 for a main), as are the drinks (£10 for a G&T!). The meat option on the inclusive menu ran out early on a couple of evenings, but an alternative was offered. The service at dinner was polite and friendly but a bit disorganised. The hotel overall has a small, friendly, relaxed atmosphere. We had a lovely time & really wanted to be able to give it 5/5 but, although the staff were always friendly, efficiency wasn’t quite what it should have been for a “luxury” hotel. But we’d definitely come back! Collapse
Disappointing Day Spa but amazing Afternoon Tea

Just returned from a Day Spas at New Park Manor which was a little disappointing. The indoor pool lounge area is quite small, only a handful of loungers so our party of four were left with plastic chairs. The hot tub out on the terrace was very small, ideal for a couple but a squeeze for four people. There are no hot drinks included in the cost and no snacks available apart from one kind of pastry. We didn't get the chance to have any treatments as we were advised they were fully booked. The day was saved by a glorious afternoon tea which had a generous array of sandwiches, scones and cakes. There was a number of tea varieties available but sadly no-one offered to refresh the teapots. If you are staying at the hotel then the spa could be a nice addition to your stay, however, I wouldn't recommend a special day trip Collapse

This could be a really stunning hotel - however a series of little things let it down. Positives - Scones and tea on arrival were excellent. Staff very pleasant. Beds comfortable. Did not use the spa, but it looked very good and the surroundings are beautiful. It was my birthday and there was a card and chocolates waiting for me. However - dinner was very disappointing. Main courses were mediocre. We went to order deserts, but found we had been given the wrong menu - and as the rhubarb trifle was not available, we skipped the third course and went to bed. The following morning we were asked to eat breakfast in the lounge - at coffee tables - we refused and the staff were excellent and cleared a table in the restaurant for us. I ordered smoked salmon and scrambled egg and was told that there was no smoked salmon. I felt we should have been told this when ordering, as there were at least two items on the menu which contained the salmon. A few issues when settling the bill and a queue backed up in reception. All issues were resolved quickly and we went on our way. The final insult was that a delivery lorry had - unnecessarily in my view - blocked the exit road, so we took the 'in' route and were berated by another driver for doing this. I know this was not the fault of the hotel, but someone should have ensured that the exit road was clear. Just felt that with a little more communication and attention to detail - this could have been a much pleasanter stay. Collapse

We have just returned from a couple of nights away at the New Park Manor. Lovely hotel which allows plenty of fun for babies alongside chilled adult time. Room was clean and spacious, with all baby essentials provided. Only thing was the nappy bin didn’t have the cartridge in so did get slightly smelly after our second night! This needs changing daily or bags inside! The family restaurant was perfect and breakfast was lovely. The chef prepared food to our request for our 11 month old. We would recommend pre-ordering as there is a wait, and sometimes when we pre-ordered we still had a wait. Not great with a hungry baby, but nothing a little snack couldn’t fix. The den is great and allows 2 hours of baby entertainment while the adults relaxed in the spa! Lovely treatments and relaxing environment. Adult restaurant was very nice, although only 3 options on the set menu. But there is an al a carte menu available. Great to use the video monitoring service and be able to relax. Staff everywhere were very friendly and helpful. We would recommend this hotel for a lovely trip for a family. Perfect when you want to spend time as a family, but also want to relax. Collapse

Start with the good, very good indeed. The staff are willing and helpful all the time friendly reception on arrival. The food I found to be of high quality and served by the wonderful staff. Breakfast was well cooked and there was a good selection. The lounge was comfortable and restful. Perfectly placed hotel to visit local attractions all around the south coast. The second room that we had was very nice. This was the change. The first room was clean and comfortable but the toilet had been positioned so that a man would not be able to use it. Hence the move. The hotel was supposed to have been refurbished in 2013 but could do with another one as it looks tired. The bar is small and one of the most expensive I have ever bought drinks from. All things being equal I would go back to this hotel it is a family friendly hotel that caters very well for everyone. I would not drink there. They need to put the prices on the wall so that people are aware. Collapse
