Beautiful setting, not as luxurious as expected for price

My partner and I visited the hotel for one night with our small dog for a romantic break away in the New Forest. This was a belated birthday present and we wanted to combine a dog friendly break with the spa for a bit of relaxing and indulgence. We really enjoyed our stay here and loved that it was dog friendly, however felt that it was overpriced for what it offers. The setting is beautiful and some of the lounge rooms are also beautiful and well decorated, however parts of the hotel such as the restaurant and our room felt dated and not luxurious. We stayed in the Forest Room which was supposed to be modern however we didn’t feel it was and it also didn’t feel luxurious with stains on the carpets and basic furniture. The room was also extremely hot meaning we had to have the windows open and the fan on the whole time. This made for an uncomfortable sleep and I feel air con would be a must if the rooms are that hot and stuffy. The spa was lovely but again could’ve been more luxurious by little things such as the windows that look out into the countryside being cleaned so there weren’t water marks. We didn’t eat any main meals here so cannot comment but did order room service desserts which were delicious and beautifully presented. Breakfast was also delicious however one waitress was unhappy when I requested hot toast to go with the cooked breakfast and it seemed like I was putting her out. The other staff were all friendly and helpful so we can’t fault them! We really enjoyed our walks around here and can’t fault the setting however felt that for the price we expected a bit more modern furnishings and luxury. For this reason we would shop around to stay at alternative dog friendly spa hotels in the New Forest in future. Collapse

Wonderful wonderful stay at New Park Manor for two nights! What a beautiful setting in the heart of the new forest with dears and horses bouncing around in the fields behind the spa. There is a lovely vibe around the property and it is very much down to the attentive staff. They were so happy to help with my tricky dietary requirements, to explain lovely local walks and to share their passion for the surrounding area. In particular William and Sophie you made us feel so welcome. We will be back to enjoy the great food and chill on a lounger soon. The most relaxing 48 hours I have had in a long time :-) Collapse

My Mum and I had a lovely experience here. We both had a very good massage with chloe who was very friendly and ultra professional. We then had drinks and cakes whilst watching the deer. A lovely way to spend an afternoon.

We stayed at this hotel on a package which was a gift and were really disappointed. We had asked to pay extra to add an extra night and the price was really expensive so we know how much they charge here and it is so overpriced! The hotel is really old and tired and in need of a refurb. To get to the rooms you would walk past dirty plates and cups left on the floor outside the bar/restaurant. The room itself was small and cramped and had tired old furniture in it, carpet coming away etc. No shower in the bathroom just a bath. The spa has been recently done and is OK but the changing rooms were damp and dirty and had towels on the floor etc. The views from the spa pool are nice though and our treatments were good. We ate in the adult only restaurant and the set menu was included in our package. You could tell they were trying to be high end and to be fair the food was delicious but the service was patchy eg other tables got bread with their drinks/starters, ours came out with our main. We were then ignored and got so fed up with waiting to order our dessert we left. They still charge 12.5% service charge even when you have the meal included. Breakfast was hectic in the conservatory with a huge wait for the cooked food (which you order, there’s a small continental buffet to help yourself to) and was then stone cold. Overall we would not recommend this hotel. There are lots of lovely inns and hotels nearby which would be much better . Collapse
