There is no way this can be classified as a 4*. It is in a very poor state of repair and nothing at all like the pictures on the web site or on Booking.com. There was a bucket on the main stairs catching rain leaking in from the roof. The whole hotel seems to need a large amount of investment. It's almost as if the hotel is in limbo waiting to be sold. I felt very sorry for the staff, "firefighting" at best. They were not able to move us or give any refund on the accommodation as it was booked through Booking.com so beware, if you do book. The pool and jacuzzi was dirty. There was Mouldy walls in our room and on the stairs as well. The lift was out of order. There were stains on the carpet, sofas, cracked hand basin and the shower head was broken, flaking paint on the ceilings. The list goes on. My advice is stay away and book a different hotel don't waste time or money on this place. Collapse

This hotel is so dirty. Stains on the carpet and on the bed sheets. The toilet was DISGUSTING, like something you'd find in a truckers service station at the side of the motorway. The dressing table was thick with dust and bed side tables sticky with God only knows what. The key lock to the room next door was basically a peek hole as you can see directly through to the beds next door. God only knows what goes on here! AVOID IT. Rumour in the village was that the place has fallen into receivership for the 2nd time in so many years. It's pretty obvious why. Have to say the staff were all very sweet but clearly there's no management to the place. Collapse

No kids pool. The leisure staff were helpful though. They let us borrow baby floaters. The bar area was filthy. You wouldn't want your child hang out there, might catch some bugs. The dinner. We got a free evening meal from the deal we bought. The noodles was too salty and we ddnt even go near it. The ice cream dessert was too late, we waited for it for 30mins, and decided to leave and forget about it. We were few steps away when it came, the waitress told us we can bring it in the room, so we did. Shame, we didn't enjoy it while it's nice, and not watery. The room needs a makeover. A lot of torn wallpapers. The only positive is the curtain it goes up to the ceiling, so we sleep soundly even when the sun is out early in the morn. Collapse

I stayed in this hotel sun and Monday 6th and 7th August 2017 with my husband .son daughter in law and grandson. On arrival we were well impressed with hotel and Ricky on reception checked us in and was very friendly and professional. Rooms were fine a bit dated but spotless. Everything was fine we had no complaints until we went down for breakfast on Monday morning, we were approached not greeted by a young waitress who asked our room numbers and then told us we'd have to wait 10 or 15 mins for a table. I asked if we could get tea and coffee while we were waiting and the reply was. I don't know . you can ask over there pointing towards the bar. I went over to ask and was greeted by a very friendly lady who immediately came out and got us a table. We got our food self service but nobody came to bring our tea and coffee . my daughter in law went to ask waitress if we could get tea and coffee and was totally ignored . when she finally got her attention the reply was. There's loads of people waiting . how rude and unprofessional. I got the attention of the nice lady from earlier and she sorted it immediately. Then that evening we went down for dinner and oh my god I've never seen anything like it in my life . we had steaks swimming in grease with soggy chips and burnt tomatoes. When i went to pay the bill i spoke to a lovely gentleman behind the bar who totally agreed that it was totally inexcusable to send out food like that. He took the price of our drinks off the bill which was very kind of him. We will never be going back there because of the incompetence of the chef and the young waitresses who haven't a clue and don't care. Such a pity to be let down on such issues that could easily be rectified. Collapse

I stayed here recently with my Mother. I had bought this as a surprise get away for two nights. From the beginning there were problems, we were asked to leave the pool area early, we could not get into out room three different times they kept having to move our room because the key cards would not work and we had to keep going up and down to reception and spent over an hour sitting in the corridor with all of our luggage. At this stage we still didn't really mind, neither if us are particularly fussy. There was no management on over the two days. When we finally got a room on two occasions other people would open our door and walk in after being told by reception it was their room. This was frustrating and we felt our valuable were not safe. we had also requested a twin room but the room we got was a double bed and we had to share. The room was missing a lot of things and on at least 3 occasions we returned to out room to find the key cards would not work and we would have to go to reception. One time while I was in a robe after using the leisure centre. The rooms were dirty and badly maintained. I have now tried to contact the hotel a number of times to talk about the experience and they have ignored my calls, written letter, email and facebook message. I would absolutely not recommend spending any time or money in this place. Collapse
