The Biltmore is a beautiful hotel and it was an experience to stay there! The staff was very friendly in all areas, and although we felt like we were surrounded by history and elegance, we felt just as welcome as the celebrities that have been there before us. Some reviewers had an issue with the older building but if you appreciate charm, you are willing to overlook a few tiny details. The room was fairly spacious (and had more outlets than my living room), and the bathroom, although small, was well appointed. They could, however, have a few more choices for food, but the room service menu is fairly varied; the food at the main restaurant was not so great though, and there is a small selection from a little cafe. Also, the bar has some eats and is another interesting room to enjoy. Alternatively, the hotel is in the business district so we had a huge selection of excellent restaurants - traveler beware and make a reservation well ahead of your stay at these, though, because we missed out by waiting too long. We found an amazing little place just down the street on Olive, Pitchoun Bakery, which serves breakfast, lunch, coffees, and French pastries...and is well worth the wait for a table! All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back. Collapse

If you're into museums, this is a perfect location. Five-15 minute walking distance from museums; accessible to public transportation (train) and fine restaurants. The hotel is beautiful and the staff friendly.

This is a really expensive, BEAUTIFUL hotel that you absolutely cannot sleep in. The construction crew outside had me up by 4:30 A.M. every day. Their loudspeaker is the worst! Well, next to the air horns they sound off all the time. While writing this review, one went off at 6:59. Car horns honk all night long, there are loads of city buses with super-loud air brakes and jerks with loud exhaust systems roar up and down the street at all hours of the night. This is crazy. Sleeping here is impossible!!! I slept like a baby for $55 / night in a lousy Motel 6 in Palm Springs but this place - at better than $250 / night is ridiculous! Admittedly, the outside noise at the Biltmore is NOT the Biltmore's fault but one of the key reasons a person stays at a hotel is so they can sleep - and that is simply not possible here. (I'm on the ninth floor, in case you're wondering.) Another air horn just went off at 7:04. The only way to park at the hotel is via valet ($48 / DAY) and the toilets are all direct flush - which means they flush well but are VERY LOUD. The guy in the room beside me obviously has some sort of late-night toilet problem. The hallways seem to reflect sound so every time somebody closes a door or has a conversation out there, you're a direct part of the action. Look, the hotel is GORGEOUS but why would anybody stay in a hotel that they can't sleep in? It's REALLY, REALLY expensive with no (free) parking and when you're kissing 300 bucks a night, you'd have to have rocks in your head to stay here. Oh, and good luck trying to figure out how to drop off or pick up somebody from the hotel, there is NO parking anywhere on the block. Another air horn at 7:14. This place is a total fail. 7:19, waiting for photo to upload, air horn. Collapse

I have stayed at the Biltmore on many occassions for both business and pleasure. The hotel has one of the nicest lobbies you'll find, think old world elegance, off the Olive Street entrance. The rooms are large and clean and they are "green" which now translates to offering you options for changing towels and linens daily or not. I also like that parking is available directly across the street at the Pershing Square garage for $16 per day (a bargain in downtown LA). I recommend this hotel if you're looking for somewhere to stay in downtown LA. Collapse
