First impressions are very good clean tidy and spacious, some people may say it's dated but I think they mean traditional, for the number of rooms you don't at any time feel like you're in a large hotel.room what you'd expect nothing flash but clean and tidy, the air conditioning was some of the best we've had quiet and COLD.its the first time in 20 years we've been half board so was a little concerned but again was pleasantly surprised,we had expected to eat out a couple of nights but ate in every night the dining room is a little canteen like and it could do with a little atmosphere but the view is good.A wide choice of dishes so there was always something to choose from even late on( always the last in).overall didn't have much to complain about a nice hotel in a lovely location we'd go back Collapse

Firstly Mijas: we have just enjoyed a city break in this lovely town in the Spanish mountains. Top tip: get a map from the Tourist Office and follow the 18 steps - you will see everything there is that way. Easy bus service if you want to visit the seaside at Fuengirola one day - only 20 minutes. Now the hotel: really nice 4* hotel. Lovely pool with sunbeds available any time you decide you want a couple of hours in the sun. Really nice terrace bar. Very good free WiFi. Decent breakfast (didn't do evening meal - ate out at the many restaurants - our favourite was the tapas bar opposite the bus terminal). One or two little things to be aware of: some of the balconies are very small - standing room only - so if you want a table and chairs check what room you are booking; no fridge in room - you had to pay for this (would expect a fridge in a 4* hotel); you also have to pay for the safe (not usual these days); electric socket nearly on ceiling! But room spacious and beds comfortable. Overall very pleasant hotel and within 10 minutes walk of centre with no mountains to climb to get there. Would happily recommend if you are visiting Mijas. TRH was pretty much how my wife and I imagined it to be. A white washed, old world, beautifully designed hotel The rooms are tastefully decorated and furnished - old Spanish chic style, we both said. A couple of more power points for electrical kit would have been good. However, perhaps due to the age of the building it might not be practicable to add these. The layout of buildings, pool and gardens is excellent. The standard immaculate. The food on offer was not to our tastes. Breakfast was adequate - the bacon found to be oily. The croissants like cardboard I'm afraid. The other cakes were nice, the coffee ok. The dining facilities moderate. The pool area was really nice. Please be aware you must abide by the rules or the Sparrow-hawk / Lifeguard (affectionately called by the Brits) will swoop - no diving, bombing, eating your own food or drink. If you are breach of this you will be told with a wag of the finger. We did not break any rules. However, to our amusement we did see a middle aged gent and lady surreptitiously removing crisps from their bags, only to be swooped on by the Sparrow-hawk. Nothing got past her. Warning signs for Dear Guests have been placed around the pool and on your breakfast table. We also noted when the Life guard went the loo - a group of Londoners dived bombed the poo- being naughty until she came back out - hilarious. Don't expect super fast service from the serving staff. these dedicated waiting people, work very long hard hours. I think they need a little extra help i.e. additional staff. I felt a little sorry for them working so hard for us holiday makers. Nice people, we appreciated there time and efforts. Drinks are a tad expensive. Oh and please if you are going to offer cocktails - please do them from scratch and properly. Just pouring liquor flavoured Mojito and Pina Colada is just awful and 5 Euros - come on. Worst cocktails I have ever had. The beer and wines offered were really good. The reception staff, again a little slow but, very efficient. On my second day I found that I was locked inside the bathroom. Try as I might, I couldn't get out. Fortunately I had my phone. The handyman came within 20 minutes an rescued me - made my wife's holiday I was not too bothered about this. The lock had seized - it could have happened anywhere - no problem, The hotel surroundings are lovely, beautiful very relaxing Majis is beautiful we loved it. Fuengirola is horrible we hated it - 1 hour was enough. Just the five night stay but, enough to enjoy a lovely holiday in a wonderful hotel Good holiday, would go back and recommend to couples Collapse

We spent a night here as we are getting married in Mijas pueblo next year. We had plenty of wedding related errands to run and wanted to experience the pueblo by night, so booked to stay over. As one of the only hotels so close to the hotel, we knew it would be where most of our guest (as well as ourselves) will stay next year also, so wanted to see beforehand. We were not disappointed as it's an absolutely beautiful hotel. The decor is beautiful, each room decorated and furnished authentically. It's definitely not modern, but is inkeeping with the traditional Spanish theme throughout. The actual hotel is huge with so many amenities such as ironing services, spa, hairdressers, pool and bar. The staff were so helpful and friendly, and nothing was too much. They even managed to iron a shirt we needed in 20 minutes, despite the fact you should send your ironing 24 hours in advance. Beds were super comfy and our patio rooms were lovely to sit out on. They let us view the bridal suites and Jose Luis was really accommodating in helping us. Breakfast was brilliant, with so much variety. The location is stunning, with breathtaking views of the coast below. We can't wait to get married here next year! Collapse
