This was the worst hotel we stayed in on our trip to Florida. The staff were not helpful a bit "computer says no" or "that's not my job" we had issues getting pool towels and were twice sent on a wild goose chase round the hotel to get them. The hotel is very dated rooms looked like the hadn't really been touched since the late 80's / early 90's but they were clean. Pool was okay, good situation right on the beach and it looked like all rooms had good views. There's not too much apart from the beach in the locality of the hotel and cost $20+ for a taxi in to South beach. All in all we were disappointed given the cost of the hotel. Collapse

I stayed here because "decent" price and location... NOT ANYMORE... Here's why. Nickel and dime bs. CONS> >was charged $45 for have a smaller RAM truck, the girl said it was oversized... well that is insane enough just by itself, but the whole valet experience (in and out) was over an hour of my life wasted just waiting w/ 1 person who was very confused running the "show"... remember that is 45$ PER DAY... wow. >NO RAMP for bags or belongings. I was among many disgruntled guests dragging bags up steps!!! then to top it all off, I went to get a cart for the luggage once I managed to drag the bags up, one cart was broken, the other had very wobbly wheel and would hardly move... THEN I finally found one and a VERY rude bellhop said "HEY!" you need to put that back, its MINE"! I said I just wanted to put my bags on it, very very rude dude... he said only he could use these carts. SO THEN I had to get cash for a tip! so that took a while. He was a jerk, but I felt bad about not tipping. so i gave him a couple of dollars. what a rig though, jeez! >guy at check in was very cold and not hospitable AT ALL. I might as well have used a kiosk to check in. He gave no info, just stared at folks walking by and was in his own world. >very spotty wi-fi, had to use hot spot >gym had singles for dumbbells, not very useful for working out! one 35lb, one 40lb, one45lb, etc... you get the point. THEN I went to gym late evening and was informed they close at 10pm... HOWEVER here we go again w/ tomer service from hell award, a security guard female came in and announced "THAT'S IT! TIME TO GET OUT!!", I actually thought she was joking... this hotel was a joke for customer service. Period please avoid unless you want to waste $. lig ss6 good life Harold Peck JR. Collapse

My husband and I visited Miami together and stayed at this hotel. I emailed to let the hotel know it’s my husbands birthday. They provided us a lovely room with beach view, gave us wine and strawberries in our room and were so friendly. The staff were great, the food was lovely. We were so pleased with the facilities. The pool is relaxing and there is a welcoming bar which leads into the beach. Great location - it’s central and the hotel concierge was very helpful in giving advice of where to go and what to see. Fantastic holiday! Collapse

Miami Beach Resort and Spa is an OK hotel on Miami Beach. Rooms are run-down and really old, however the breakfast is great (not included) and the location is nice with sea view. When we first arrived, our first impression of Miami Beach Resort and Spa was that it was a luxury hotel. The outside and lobby looks luxurios with, for example, large chandelier. However the rooms and corridors are really run-down and old with wall-to-wall carpeting everywhere. The carpets smells unfresh and they are really old. We first got a room on the 6th floor that was not cleaned at all. The beds had not been made and the used towels where on the floor in the bathroom. The bin had not been emptied, either. We complained, of course and got a new clean room on the 16th floor. Our new room was clean, as a room should be. However the old wall-to-wall carpet were old and smelled somewhat nasty. However our rooms was run-down, walls were cracked in the bathrooms and the shower was very hard to use. Our room did also have a table, a chair, one bedside table and one bureau. We had a nice view from our rooms, since we lived at the 16th floor. We had view over both the canal, the sea and the beach. But no standard room in the hotel has a balcony and the windows are impossible to open. The breakfast is great, however not included in the price (11$ continental, 15$ full). We paid for a continental breakfast, so we got juice, thé/coffe, yoghurt, cereals, fruits, breads, cheese and sweets. The waiters are nice and give good service. If you pay for a full breakfast you also got warm things, like bacon, tomatoes, scrambled eggs, waffles and pancakes. The breakfast room is located on the bottom floor and with a nice view over the sea and the pool. The staff is kind, but rather slow and it was extremly bad and awful of them to first give us a room that was not clean. On the grounds of the hotel there is a pool, suitiable for everyone, since the pool has both a deep and a shallow end. There is also a bar and a lot of sunschairs (sunchairs are free). Miami Beach Resort and Spa is located on Miami Beach, near the beach (where there are sunchairs for hire) and possibilties to walk and watch the skyscrapes and the beautiful ocean. It takes about 20 minutes from Miami airport to Miami Beach Resort and Spa and there are often a lot of taxis outside of the hotel. There are absolutly no restaurants, cafées or stores close to Miami Beach Resort and Spa, if you want to eat or buy something you have to walk at least 45 minutes. If you want to stay on Miami Beach, I would not recommend Miami Beach Resort and Spa, since it is so rundown and old. But the location and the pool is nice. Collapse
