We stayed here in a twin room for a local wedding. The room was clean and modern and well equipped for the overnight stay. We didn’t use any other facilities at the hotel although they had a pool too. USB ports in the headboards were a great addition too. Only thing we mentioned to reception when we checked out was the toilet would continuously run for over half an hour when flushed. Collapse

Stayed 1 night. When arrived building looked fine, a little shabby in parts and worn. Staff are excellent who tried very hard to deliver a good service, Garden furniture nearly non existent , not great on a sunny day . Evening meal a disaster , food cold and poor quality . Getting the meal you had ordered was a challenge .it appears vegetarians are second class citizens who must eat the food after us meat eaters !! Very young staff employed to serve who had been guided to only move finished plates until the whole room had finished eating leaving you sat waiting in a hot sweaty room. Due to slowness of the service we gave up with waiting for desert . Not enough bar staff on. Reception very helpful Breakfast ok and thank god they moved your finished plates ! Collapse

The hotel itself is not bad, rooms are modern and spacious, restaurant alright although a bit over priced. However my stay was completely ruined by the lack of showers due to a boiler issue. I understand there may be the odd maintenance issue, however I have been here for 15 hours so far and not been able to shower after working all day yesterday. They posted a letter through apologising and offering showers in the leisure centre, but for me this isn't appropriate. All my things are in my room, I like to relax and have a bath in my room in the mornings, not have to pack my belongings and trudge through to a leisure centre with a whole hotel worth of people. Really bad end to yesterday, and an even worse start to today. Maintenance contract needs to be better for these incidents, engineers should have been working overnight on an incident with this priority. Collapse

|From check in to check out a nightmare, we arrived Monday for 2 nights and had booked a Double room, Receptionist said only 1 night booked and it was a twin, could not change as they were full and to her credit she went to the room and zipped the beds together but could not find a double duvet but that was no problem. On arriving in the room I made a drink and took off my shoes to lay on the bed and noticed the carpet was damp, an hour later I had a bath and returned to the bedroom to find the bath had emptied into the bedroom and the damp carpet was now soaked through, maintenance repaired this around 8.30. Breakfast the following morning was very poor , good choice of cold items but hot items were dire , the scrambled egg looked like congealed custard this was the same both mornings also items not replenished quick enough and people having to go without because they were in a hurry, no hot water later in the day when we returned and room smelled terrible due to damp carpet, following morning no hot water again and my husband had to go to work , cleanliness was very poor cobwebs and dust everywhere and with the smell felt like the room had not been used for months, we paid £108 for Monday night and we were disgusted, the reception staff did their best , the maintenance man did his best but they are obviously under a lot of stress, my husband has stayed here before for business and said he could not believe how much it had gone down, we did not eat dinner here due to previous reviews we chose to eat out. So I stayed here a month or so back. I had been sent over for work and this is the hotel that the company would normally use. ( I might add that one of my colleges were staying In a hotel across town but I will get to that) First impressions the hotel is clean and the girl on the front desk couldn't be more helpful if she had tried. Show me to my room I asked about a smoking a area and she said just nip out the fire door witch saved me walking the length of the hotel every time I wanted out. I got to my room and was pleasantly surprised on first impressions the room was fairly modern and clean but upon further inspection you would notice mainly in the bathroom were things like times and rails and been broke or replaced and half heartedly put back in place. But clean the room was spotless and the bed linen was changed on a daily basis witch is nice good size tv had all the normal channels. room had a safe ironing board everything you would need. Bar the staff Christmas party going on that night it was a good first impression. but I wouldn't mark them down for that its only fair after working in hospitality for a long time I know it is hard to get your Christmas party. Hotel grounds are nice and seem well kept along with the pool area witch is also clean and looks very well presented. the down side to the pool is the fact the the windows are transparent. (I Know that sounds stupid) and what I mean by this is that the majority or the pool suite is glass and is at eye level to anyone driving in or walking around the grounds. I would have preferred to see frosted glass. not that I worry about people seeing my glorious gut but their was members of are party that were completely put off by this. The gym is what you would expect small cramped and if there is more than one or 2 people you may struggle. Hotel is handy to a Tesco express and a few other shops about a quarter of a mile down the road as well as a chip shop witch came in handy. My biggest annoyance to this hotel is the fact it is used mainly by company's FORD being one of them that use the hotel all year round and that is the main clientele and I feel it shows around the hotel lots of groups of young men all doing apprenticeship's and rowdy adults who feel it is a chance to get drunk on the company's dime. But the food is the massive draw back with this hotel every meal was terrible I ended up using the chippy because I couldn't eat their after the 3rd night. Breakfast was low quality at best . The cooked food was in eatable on the first morning I went in and lifted the scrambled eggs only to put them on the plate and notice they were lime green and smelt off. the sausages were full of grilse and grease. morning two was the same. morning three I had cereal and stuck with that for the next 4 days . The bar is ok priced can be a bit dear I noticed the price would very with different members of staff. and they bar staff weren't overly quick about anything we waited near an hour for some frozen fish and chips. then another hour for a dessert that wasn't cooked right. (ice cold in the middle) Over all some good some bad just know what to avoid and you will be grand. would have been a 4* only for the food. The biggest problem I have with this hotel Collapse
