stayed at the hotel over the weekend of the Bristol 10k race (which I was participating in). Really nice room and apart from a small issue with the door not opening (fixed by maintenance within 20 minutes), the stay was great. had a dinner, bed and breakfast deal. Food on offer for dinner was varied with plenty of choice. Breakfast was also good on the Sunday morning. The leisure facilities were good. Nice swimming pool and gym. Car parking available if you needed it - personally came on the train - Temple Meads only 10 minutes away by foot. The Waterfront area with plenty of bars / restaurants is also 10 minutes away by foot. Collapse
Perfectly acceptable hotel in good location for the riverside restaurants

First tip: Arrive as early as you can as car parking is limited. You can pay at reception where you enter your registration number. I arrived around 1530 and paid £45 for 3 days' parking. Good job I left early on the last day as it expired at mid-day and I wasn't due to leave until later that afternoon. So double check when you purchase your parking. If the car park is full, there is another public one close by. My room was large and clean with the added bonus of an Espresso machine but I don't think that is standard, so ask if you want one. Also, if you intend to use the swimming pool, you have to sign a disclaimer for H&S before you will be given a key. You also need a token for the lockers. Good pool but ladies' changing rooms only had 2 showers but not a problem as 3 times out of the 4 times I used the pool, I had the place to myself. Didn't eat at the hotel but the one drink I purchased (double G&T) was £10.90 which I thought was really expensive. Nice staff and a very comfortable stay. Collapse

I love Bristol it’s a great friendly city. Having arranged to meet a group of friends I booked 2 nights because I knew it was going to get messy and also a good excuse to spend a day looking around Bristol. I like the Mercure Holland House I’ve stayed a few times, it’s easy to walk to everything, it has parking and in Bristol a hotel with parking is a plus. As an Accor member as well the reward programme is good as well. I did a points+cash deal and got a fab discount. The staff are polite and customer focussed, always willing to help. Check in was easy, and we also got an upgrade to a privilege room, this one was huge, with robes, slippers and fabulous roll top bath. After the evening with friends we put out the do not disturb sign. When we finally rocked up to breakfast and got back to the room there was this lovely note saying they didn’t disturb us, but if we needed anything, towels, toiletries etc call to reception. It’s little touches like that really make the difference. Lunch was really nice, nothing complicated, not cheap but great if you need food and you really don’t want to venture out just yet as we didn’t. Staying here has really added to our 2 day staycation in Bristol and I’d recommend it to anyone. Collapse

We booked spa and lunch for 6 of us. The spa treatments were lovely and Kim and her team were great. Unfortunately they were let down by the hotel staff. We pre ordered our lunch 2 days before. We went for lunch after our treatment at one o'clock. We were brought our drinks and then waited for our food. And waited and waited. After 50 minutes I went to the bar and spoke to the waitress. She said it would be 2 minutes. It wasn't busy. A table of 4 had their food and a group of ladies had afternoon tea. So not busy. Five minutes later I went back to the bar and a different waitress said I'll go into the kitchen. I walked back to our table and she didn't move. So I went to reception and asked to see a manager. No one arrived. The food arrived but by this time we all wanted to swim and then leave to catch our train. We went back to the spa where Kim was extremely helpful. The hairdryer blew up in the changing room by the swimming pool. Lesson learned. Don't have lunch at this spa. Probably won't go again. Collapse

We booked an overnight stay after reading reviews online. We were unsure of how the car park arrangements and payments worked but a member of staff on her break came and spoke to us and explained everything. Big plus point to to the staff here. Easy check in, spacious room with large shower, fridge, TV, good Air Con. Bar reasonably priced - as i expected. Dinner was fantastic. 3 course set menu for £22. Excellent wine list also. Food was really of the charts and the chorizo infused Mashed Potato was amazing. Quiet, very clean, good Breakfast. We shall definitely be returning. Friendly staff do well done to all for a great experience. Collapse
