Just heard that the skate park nearby has been closed by The Town Hall because of the noise which is great news silence returns to this lovely family accommodation. Complaining can work well done to the owners of Massol.

We stayed at the Don Massall apartments using the half board option of breakfast and evening meal at the Flora Aparthotel. When we arrived at the apartments after midnight, we were surprised to see 4 freshly made baguettes, yoghurts, drink and apples in the fridge. Even water too. Hadn’t expected anything at all, haven’t even had this service when staying at 3 star hotels! Our room was a 1 bedroom apartment with small balcony, very Spanish in style and ample room for 2 adults, 1 teenager and child. We had asked for a view of the pool and mountains and that’s what we got. The air conditioning was excellent, a separate unit in each room which could be set individually at different temperatures. Other reviews mention the skate park – children would come and play football in the sports area opposite early evening. That was about it. Enough said. The view is lovely over the mountains, it’s a 5 minute walk down to the beach, take a left and you hit the pine walk, take a right and you can walk further along to the man made beach. The beach is lovely, fairly good for snorkelling. Lots of fish to see, variety of sizes, even saw a ray too. Food at Flora aparthotel was good, breakfast was self serve, mainly warm – it was fine with English option, pastries, donuts, cereal and fruit. Evening meal, you selected food from a 3 course menu, yes limited but enough choices for a week. There was none of the hustle and bustle that you can get with all inclusive/half board option, it was quiet and chilled and made a pleasant change. The food was good. We had a great week. Puerto Pollensa is a lovely chilled quiet resort – no tacky shops, no hassle. The apartments we stayed in ticked all the boxes. The swimming pool is small but very deep 2.5 metres which was great for the kids to dive in. We wouldn’t stay all day at the pool, but this applies to where ever we go on holiday. If you like snorkelling then I can recommend Cala San Vincent, 10 minute taxi drive, (Cala Moulins). Beach gets very busy but snorkelling is great. Pretty fish, a bit like swimming in an aquarium, the sea is so clear and blue. If you take a left round the corner (facing the sea) and follow the road round, there is a brilliant jumping into the sea area (not for faint hearted. Briliant last mintue week away in the sun. As other reviews have stated this is a good budget choice for your family holiday, especially if you are looking somewhere that is simple clean if not luxurious accommodation. There is a small pool but no bar, restaurant, entertainment etc. The rooms are dated but clean and have all the equipment required for your stay (Except wifi). You also have the use of the facilities at the nearby Flora Aparthotel should you wish. There is a vending machine for snacks/drinks if you really need it and the there is a supermarket nearby. My kids enjoyed the pool whilst my wife enjoyed reading by it. Apartment cleaned every other day and towels changed. We were on the ground floor and upon arrival found a small amount of ants coming out from the electrical sockets but once alerted the cleaner sprayed the area and they didn't return so no big deal. A/C in the apartment which was good with the only issue being that the actual unit was on the wall at our terrace and was quite noisy, really the roof would be the correct place for this. WIFI doesn't work at the complex so be aware of this if it's an issue. I asked about it at the Flora and was just informed that it didn't work but I had mobile data so it didn't concern me and I wasn't there to work. I have stayed in the area many times over the last 8-9 years and would definitely recommend the Massol for a budget family holiday or for couples in the off season. If you are looking for some modern luxury or action packed I would look elsewhere. Collapse

This was our first visit to Massol Apts, but it will not be our last! As others have said, the apartment is basic - but contains everything you need and surpasses the average Greek holiday apartment! The apartment was cleaned every day, with linen and towels changed mid week and weekends. We had an apartment overlooking the small pool - and the Finca, plus the entrance to the Boquer Valley. My husband was able to watch the birds from our balcony through his travel scope. The skate park opposite could be a little irritating during the day, but as we were out of the apartment most of the time this was not important. The pool is small, but guests are able to use the facilities at the Flora hotel - about 3 mins walk away. The only downside was the lack of wifi in the apartments -but this was more than compensated by the easy access to the Boquer Valley, the start of the walk to Cala san Vincence, the beach (less than 10 minutes) and the bus station (about 6 mins). Buses to Alcudia and S'Albufera nature reserve are frequent and cheap. There were a good amount of power points in the apartment - useful when you need to charge phones, fitbits, tablets and batteries for 2 cameras. We intend to go back to Puerto Pollensa, and will try to book not just the same apartment complex, but the same apartment if we can! Would recommend to anyone with the same interests as us (birds, nature and walking) Collapse
