I booked and paid for two rooms. One for four adults and two children and one double for one adult. The owners of the chain ( they have four Riads in Marrakech) answered my emails about transfer etc ($$$$ for their pocket) but completely ignored my email regarding the fact that I had paid for a room for 6 people but was given a room for five. The room for five was in no way able to accommodate the six I booked for. It was already a squeeze and one bed was not even a bed- it was the size of a cot. It’s was cramped and we named it the dungeon as it had no air flow and was at the bottom of the Riad and the room above sounded like it was in ours. It sounded like a herd of elephants was above us. It was advertised as having a a seating area- this was untrue - it is simply a couch outside the room which hides all the linens and laundry sink. The staff are lovely. There are 3 girls who cook and clean and one man who handles everything to do with guests, room payment, checkin/out, bookings for tours, guides/taxis. This poor guy is always smiling, polite and friendly but works 24 hours a day and the broom cupboard which holds the computer is also his bedroom with bunks inside that my 7 year old son couldn’t stretch his legs out in. We loved the staff but have to say that the employment in this Riad is akin to slave labor. The owners of this Riad have left all conscious and ethics at the UK border when they immigrated to Morocco and should be totally ashamed of themselves. For this reason I don’t recommend this Riad as those who do wrong through greed are far worse than those who do so out of ignorance. No excuse for treating employees in such a manner. In addition to that the beds are as hard as a concrete floor. Collapse

It’s a beautiful riad, with lovely rooms and a rooftop with amazing views. The staff are super helpful and kind, going beyond expectations. It’s also well located (if a little tricky to find!) However, there is an ugly side. The staff office is located in a tiny cupboard with no windows. However, I looked in further one day when the staff weren’t there and saw a tiny bunk bed, with the beds so small they’d only be appropriate for tiny children, rather than grown men. While I know it may not be so uncommon for staff in the region to be working at all times and living in horrendously cramped conditions, the lack of human decency is still disheartening. Did the owners leave their humanity in the UK when they emigrated to Morocco? Collapse

My friend and I stayed here for a few days and were so blown away by the service and ambiance. When we arrived, Aziz met us, helped us with our bags, made us tea, and explained the riad's app to us. He was so warm and welcoming and checked on us throughout our stay. I can't say enough good about him and the rest of the staff. This riad is so classy and royal. The details in the aesthetics are lovely, welcoming and have a traditional Moroccan feel. The riad's app is also extremely helpful in navigating the area. Included are dining suggestions, sites to see, packages sponsored by the hotel and a map. We opted to do a cooking class and enjoyed it thoroughly. Khalifa was our instructor and he was patient, thoughtful and knowledgeable. The staff was really exceptional. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Aziz, Abdul Latif, Ali, Hamid and Mariam showed us such great hospitality, we felt so comfortable and taken care of. It truly felt like we were staying with friends. I would highly recommend this riad and I can't wait to go back. Collapse

We spent 3 nights at this Riad and could not recommend it more highly. Fatema our host was very obliging. When one of us was ill she was caring and concerned. Mohammed who picked us up from the train station and also drove us each day was an excellent driver, patient and careful. We ate at the Riad each night and the food was excellent. Breakfast had different offerings each day. The room was roomy and had a great hot shower. The Riad was quiet and peaceful. Collapse

The facility is fabulous, with a location that is central to the Medina, yet off the beaten track. The hotel incorporates the historic Marrakech home of jazz singer Josephine Baker, and the restoration includes lots of memorabilia and detailing relating to the history of the home. The service, particularly housekeeping, was erratic during our visit. I had no towels when I arrived, and again later in the stay. Breakfast is included, and is generally pancakes, crepes, eggs, yogurt and fresh fruit, but delivery was again unpredictable. Aziz and Ali, on the other hand, could not have been more helpful and solicitous. They acted as concierge, advisors, and guardians...and were just lovely. I highly recommend this hotel. The minor housekeeping quirks were easily balanced against the hospitality and friendliness of the staff. Collapse
