I stayed here one night with a friend and loved it! I have an obsession with white interiors so I absolutely loved the interior of this Riad.. It is really just stunning! The staff were exceptionally nice too which is always an added bonus, with a special mention to Aziz and Abdul for going out of their way to try and make our stay as comfortable and great as possible! I also got to meet one of the lovely owners, Lucie, and had a good chat with her! I love that the Riad also has a story behind it which gives it even more character. Also should mention that the Riad is in a great location as well. I loved my stay here and highly recommend it when in Marrakech! Collapse

My husband and I really enjoyed our quick night stay here at Riad Star. The staff was welcoming and kind. The Riad was nicely located not too far into the medina so it wasn’t a long walk. The Riad itself was cold, but it was January and everywhere is cold. We stayed in the Paris room which was a nice size and beautifully decorated. It had a small seating area and good size bathroom. There were too extra-large size blankets in the closet which I pulled out as it was cold, but the heatpump kept the room at a comfortable temperature all night. Originally, they recommended a few highly rated restaurants for dinner but as we had just arrived we did not want to wait until they opened. Alternatively, they suggested Le Trou au Mur of which we were escorted to right around the corner which was wonderful. We were offered a good size breakfast the next morning with tea, coffee and lovely orange juice. It was served with fruit, bread, yogurt, and pancakes/crepes with a nice assortment of butter and jellies. Unfortunately, we did not get to see or use the amenities as we arrived late in the afternoon and left first thing the next morning but we would love to go back as the Riad is gorgeous and hosts so welcoming. This is a Riad, not a hotel, and understanding the difference is important if you want to enjoy your stay there. If you value efficiency and perfection, this may not be the right place for you, but this Riad compensates with atmosphere. The building is charming and offers a great view over the Medina from the terrace. You can have complimentary tea there and enjoy the sunset. The breakfast was freshly prepared, and the lamb tangine I had for dinner was delicious - it really tasted as if it had been cooked with love. The location of the Riad is excellent, and the staff were very friendly and always prepared to get you what was not available in the room (e.g. stocking up on toilet paper). Aziz, the manager, was truly concerned with providing an excellent service. I had the Ivory Suite (given to me as a complimentary upgrade), and the decor there was beautiful, although the bathroom was small, and the upper level did not really allow you to hang or place anything. Breakfast is available from 7.30am, although you get it closer to 8.30am, because the staff need to be onsite and swing into action. Having more staff might allow them to pay more attention to details (e.g. wiping surfaces and clearing away tea trays more promptly). Overall a great place with professional service, though. Collapse

The Riad Star benefits from an excellent manager Aziz who made us feel so welcome from the start of our five day stay until we left. He was around 24/7 to offer advice - I'm not sure he ever really slept! Abdoo was also very kind too and he also made us feel very special. The next best thing about the Riad was the roof terrace with fabulous views over the tops of the city. The call to the mosques as the sun sets is amazing. We stayed in the Ebony room which takes a family of four. The downstairs could have been cosier, single beds a little bigger and the bathrooms a bit lighter. The pictures taken for the website are a little deceptive. The ap which helps you find your way around Marrakech is another perk of the RIad - absolutely vital as I'd be surprised if anyone could find their way around without it! Thanks Riad Star for a great stay ! Collapse
The Best place we've ever stayed in Marrakech

We have stayed at the Mamounia (an anniversary treat), places in Hivernage and the Palmery areas as well as many other riad style hotels. But I have to say that this Riad style hotel was by far the best place we have ever stayed during our stays over the past 5 years. Why? not because of the decor (although that is stunning-especially the new white wing) and not because of the roof top view which is actually one of the very best we have seen giving a view over the entire medina and mountains-apparently we were lucky that there were no clouds on the days we stayed there. Not because of its location-even though we were amazed at the ease of walking around-especially compared with our stays in the new town where everything has to be done by taxi which we hate. Here you walk out of the hotel and in one minute or two at most you are in the centre of the souks. The reason we loved this place and will return and recommend it is because of the wonderfully caring staff. We felt that nothing was too much trouble. Even when they were clearly very busy they still made sure we were looked after. The ladies dont speak english but they did seem to understand and brought us things that we asked for. Sometimes we had to wait for about 20 mins for our mint tea but it was always brought with a smile and a friendly word. Felt that we had been staying with friends here not so much like a hotel. If you like really formal places where service happens at the click of a finger then this may not be for you. Also if you have kids then I think we would have worried about disturbing other guests if they screamed. Lots of little seating areas and quite a few stairs to hidden spots so not great if you have serious mobility issues. But we loved the informality and hospitality and warmth-everyone seemed to be willing to go the extra mile for us-even helping us out with lost luggage at the airport. Also amazing food-the chef is incredible-all authentic morrocan cuisine but served so beautifully. We are foodies and had a cookery lesson for half a day which was really good. We ate our food that we prepared and that was really fun. Only one little gripe and that is that when we were on the roof terrace sitting near the lovely flowers and herbs one of them seemed to be bit overpowering-I think it was a mint or lemony smelling plant-had to move away and ask to sit somewhere else. The lighting at night is romantically done but tricky if you want to read a book. We requested for a lamp and got one right away so it wasnt a problem really. Otherwise hard to fault. Thanks to all the guys here for making our stay wonderful-we will be back-that's for certain. Collapse
