We have just got back from Lisbon where we had a three night stay at this wonderful hotel. Our room was on the interior courtyard, so no view to speak of, but it was marvellously quiet and we had great sleeps. As we were in town for Eurovision and out for hours on end and back late, we didn't eat in the restaurant, but it looked reasonably priced. The breakfast buffet is great and well stocked with plenty of choice. The location is ideal. There is a metro station a few steps from the front door, linking to both the Yellow and Blue metro lines, as well as a good selection of buses. Av Liberdade itself is a broad and rather magnificent street, with broad, tree lined paths making the stroll into the city centre very pleasant. I would finally like to mention the fantastic staff. It didn't matter who we met, from front desk, to housekeeping, to the wait team at breakfast and bell services, everyone was very helpful. A particular than to front desk for helping us choose and book our tour. Collapse

We have just come home from a fabulous stay in this great hotel. We received a very warm welcome from Carla and I can't praise the staff enough for their friendliness hard work and professionalism. Bina the manager was truly amazing, arranging day trips for us and was helpful in every way. It was our wedding anniversary and we were welcomed in our room with chocolate cake and champagne ! Delicious and much appreciated Our suite was spotlessly clean, spacious and the bed was like sleeping on a cloud. The toiletries were plentiful and smelt lovely. Our room had a Jacuzzi combined with a bath and shower. Tea and coffee facilities were welcome too. The sun terrace was spacious with a good view of the castle. We didn't make use of the gym facilities. We were too busy out and about! Breakfasts had a good choice of continental style and cooked food. Nothing was too much trouble for the wait staff. We ate in the restaurant one night. We couldn't fault anything, Marcio the waiter and his colleague Elton were so helpful. Marcio explained what was on the menu and made great recommendations for us. The food and service was fabulous. Thanks to all in the kitchen. We spent one day exploring Sintra and the local area with a great driver. Thanks Paulo! We also went on a bus trip to Obidus and Fatima - a great way to learn about Portuguese history. We left the hotel at 5 in the morning but we were still offered breakfast, coffee and a friendly goodbye .We would not hesitate to stay in this hotel again. Its a great base from which to explore the beautiful city of Lisbon and beyond and is close to the hop on hop off bus lines. Collapse

My wife and I checked out of the Hotel Dom Sancho 4 days early to go across the street to find this wonderful hotel. A very friendly and helpful lady by the name of Bina gave us a great rate and found us a beautiful room for the remaining 4 days in Lisbon. The view of the boulevard was grand. The room was super clean and spacious. The bathroom was large with plenty of large towels, hot water and water pressure. The mattress was comfortable and the sleep quality was fantastic. Very quiet at night. The staff very friendly and accommodating. The only thing I could slight is the breakfast was so-so. Someone needs to teach the Portuguese how to cook eggs and the bacon (ham) and sausage was not good. Everything else was fine. I didn't like the pushy British fighting to get their share. Lack of manners. This is a very nice hotel in a great location with a great staff. It is worth the money !! M. Greg Miller Ennis, County Clare and Millersville, PA, USA Collapse
