Never previously stayed in a serviced apartment and this was a relatively positive first experience. The apartment I was allocated was 2 bed, was clean except for a stain/mark on the sofa and some mould in the bathroom which is always an issue when you have toilets / bathrooms with no windows. They provided some complimentary bottles of water, tea/coffee and bathroom toiletries such as soap and shower gel. Hand and bath towels are also provided. Parking is available but quite limited. It was secured by gates on arrival but by the morning the gates had broken and were left open. Staff were helpful and pleasant. The rate I paid was reasonable compared to a night in a hotel albeit you don't have on-site food facilities so a walk to the local pub or shopping centre is necessary if not providing your own food. The bathroom had multiple spotlights but only one worked. When exiting the apartment the lighting in the hallway automatically comes on but this took several seconds of walking in complete darkness before it activated. Overall it was a positive experience but could have been better. Collapse

I'm happy about the service and the hospitality of the Marlin apartment's team. Good location near by Westfield ( one of the biggest mall in the Europe). Especially very happy with Laura and Kevin, always being happy to help and providing a wonderful service, trying to help with all of our issues. Nice community and atmosphere. I would recommend Marlin apartment to all those who wants to visit London ether for business travel or just for a holiday :)))) Collapse

The apartments are a short walk (500m) from the Stratford station. There is a side entry (push the button to speak to the office) to avoid going around to the adjacent street with car park entry. The apartment was missing quite a number of items so we told management immediately - we don't want to have them say that we had taken them. The room was quiet with no noticeable noise from the trains. The former Olympic venues are adjacent to the station. The apartment was clean. On-site management tries but Marlin needs to invest in property maintenance. The toilet does not flush well - clearly a design problem. This can be overcome by pouring a saucepan of water into the bowl as well as flushing. The amount we were charged for the booking several days ahead was grossly excessive. [Don't ask others to book]. We could have stayed at a very good hotel in central London for the same price. Collapse
Very Close to the Rail Tracks

The Marlin Apartment is located close to the Stratford and Westfield Malls and Stratford Station which is ideal for shopping and moving around. The apartment is quite decent and the front desk is manned 24 hours. The only reason I may not return is the noise from the railway! The trains never seemed to stop running! save for between 3am and 4am, I dont think there was ever a time a train didn't go by! We had to open the windows a bit to let in air considering it was summer and quite hot. Collapse
Reasonable accomodation but ask for a room away from the railway tracks!

These apartments are reasonably priced accomodation in London. We booked a 1 bed apartment which had a sofa bed in the living room. When the sofa bed was opened there was very little floor space. However, the bed was comfortable although the sofa bed less so. The worst thing was we were right at the corner of the building nearest the train tracks and trains came though constantly till very late at night and started again very early in the morning meaning I got very little sleep. Although the staff were nice enough otherwise they couldn't help us with this. The apartments were full so there was nowhere else for us to be moved to. I would stay here again if we had an apartment at the front away from the train tracks but not otherwise. The room was clean enough and the furnishings were a bit tired but must have been of reasonable quality when new. There were things missing from the kitchen but that was no trouble to us as we were only there for 1 night for the concert at the Olympic stadium. The apartments are within walking distance of the stadium but afterwards we found it hard to find our way back in the dark and couldn't get a taxi because it was so busy, so be prepared to walk back from the stadium. The apartments are in a residential area with no useful little shops/supermarkets near by. There is a large shopping centre, Stratford centre some distance away but like the Olympic stadium it was hard to walk to avoiding the through roads which you couldn't walk on of course. The result was it was quite a frustrating place to stay as you could see where you needed to go but had to find a route or an elusive taxi to get there. Collapse
