As yet to stay in the Marlin apartments but we were booked to stay this weekend with family. Due to unforeseen circumstances we have been unable to stay but paid upfront and on a no refund policy. Diana Costa in Reservations has been an absolute star and moved our reservation at no extra cost to another time (for business) so we have not lost any money. The only reason I haven't rated Excellent is purely because we have not actually stayed as yet. However if the apartment is anything like the customer service I am expecting it to be a 10/10! We were delighted with this apartment. There is a little grocery nearby if you wish to make some of your own meals. Lovely bedroom area and bathroom. Very clean. Appreciated that there was a washer/dryer in the apartment. The signage is small and the hotel was a little difficult to find, but it was well worth it. This unit was very close to subway, which meant getting to attractions was easy. Taxi next door made getting to the airport easy. Note that many taxi drivers want cash payment. Collapse

This is just a so-so place. Location wise its great in terms of access to transport and only 10 mins to major London attractions. And the free phone is a wonderful touch and much appreciated. However the apartment complex is tired as are the staff. It looks like a refresh of furniture and beds was being undertaken when we were there that is well overdue. Our bed sagged in the middle, as did the couch, there is no air conditioning and the windows don't open enough to allow some escape from the heat (yes I know Gabby/whoever will respond with something about security but seriously ground floor apartment windows that open less than 20cm onto the street and onto rubbish bins and it is the hottest summer in years in London - that's not okay). The kitchen was not fully stocked in terms of plates, knives, forks, etc. The frying pan was absolutely filthy and had to be replaced. Having sponges, scourers and dish washing liquid would help avoid this. The staff did the bare minimum and certainly were not overly friendly nor helpful. The complex does hold promise and with a refresh that includes the staff would make a great London location. But until then its just average. Collapse

Further to my previous review, I have left Marlin Apartments with a sour feeling. My complaints were solely to do with the head office revenue member of staff (Ariane) and to make it clear, I have absolutely no issues with the front line staff at the Limehouse branch, Gabby, Hamza, Stefania et al have been absolutely amazing and have accommodated my needs to the best of their ability. My issue was being offered a flat rate (without request) to which I had accepted, to be withdrawn whilst in house. This in essence, does not make it a 'flat rate' and this phrase needs to be understood prior to making an offer using this very term. Ariane, who had offered the flat rate, revoked this during their busy period and mentioned that this was not going to be available in that time. My argument was that this should be have mentioned in the first instance in order for me to give thought to alternative accommodation. Further along the line, I was told that this was mentioned during the original offer, which in fact, it was not to then only be patronised and told that I had misunderstood! As far as I am aware, I have a high level of understanding the English Language with effective communication. During each email, my points were failed to be addressed, yet I'm the one who has misunderstanding! Ariane then offers another rate slightly higher per night and then gives a delusional explanation on how its a good rate! If its not the same or lower, its NOT a good rate! Upon payment at the front desk, I discover that I am still paying the original 'flat' rate! During the Easter period, Ariane attempts to increase the rate again and offers a 10% discount if booked for 7 nights. I asked if it included the bank holiday rate, which she replied yes, with uncertainty. I declined and made my own calculation which was quite a sum different. Quite an abuse of power that has not been granted. My next issue was dealing with Amo, who had yelled at me during a conversation discussing a rate. In conclusion, she had put the phone down on me yet I remained calm. I had raised this with head office as a complaint which the response implied that I was lying. I did continue to stay until the issue was resolved which to date, it hasn't, however I had been offered corporate rates, however this may be higher than the original offer of the laughable 'flat' rate! As this company has no element of loyalty, unrealistic prices by revenue for their dated apartments, and undermining, I have taken my business to Apple apartments where I am being offered a lower rate for a brand new apartment. They have instantly recognised that I am a returning, regular and valued guest and the General Manager has had no issues with extending my bookings with ease, unlike Marlin who choose to make it difficult without reason! I do find it quite strange that the GM of Marlin has had more than one opportunity to discuss my issues, yet failed to even introduce himself whilst the manager of Apple apartments has had no issues with direct contact, Maybe an Air of Grandeur? Who knows! It would be wise to rethink how revenue structure their pricing along with perhaps replacing Ariane with Mickey Mouse, as I am certain that he could run the show better! Collapse
