So me and my partner got an early flight in and arrived around midday to the hotel. No one was at the reception to great us so we waited 5 mins then was greeted by a lady which didn't really seem to have a clue who we were or speak great English until we gave details over. We were told the cleaner was still in the room and she would call to check (that's fine we were a little early). However, after awkwardly sitting in silence and no hospitality given, a man then came to the desk and said " sorry your room isn't available as it is being refurbished" we then asked why the lady would lie about a cleaner and why rooms were being rented if they aren't available. We were then forced into a taxi moments later without any explanation and told they are sending us to a hotel down the hill, not giving us the choice and keen to get us out. They were sending us to this hotel for three days. We arrived at the other hotel where another couple was sent after us also. This hotel was lovely and very welcoming. We were put into a room that weren't great and very dated (not what I paid for) and the complex was ram packed full of people so we couldn't really even go to the pool. We made the most of it for 3 days. On move day we heard no word, no plan and had the stress of packing our bags up again . We got to check out at the hotel and asked if a taxi was being sent or if the room at the hotel we booked was ready . The lady was lovely and helped but had no clue . She got on the phone and they told her the room was going to be free in two hours as it was being cleaned (again!) we then had to wait around an kill two hours not to go too far . We had to sort our own taxi back up and made the hotel pay at the other end. On arrival the same man that sent us off three days before didn't really remember us kept asking if we wanted wifi after he had already given it to us and seemed very unorganised and not very welcoming at all ! He then said the room will be another hour as it was being cleaned. At this point me and my partner had lost it and felt like our day had been wasted waiting for this room. When we went to get the key the man was no where to be seen so we waited and waited . He didn't show us to our room and we had to go find it ourselves. When we arrived the cleaner was STILL there ! We were very upset , hot and tired but waited. The only reason I give the hotel one star is because the apartment was beautiful and refurbished but we weren't sent to another hotel due to refurbishments it was because people were in it and the over booked same with the other couple we saw. We tried to make the best of a stressful half of our holiday. The walls were thin and heard shouting and screaming during the night, people were throwing up outside our door, there was no privacy on the balcony and a lot of half eaten food left in the fridge. There was no cleaning service or fresh towels given so we had to make do . The cleaner came one day when we were out leaving fresh sheets on the bed but hadn't bothered to actually change it for us and everything else was left so we had to live in lots of rubbish and empty water bottles because we didn't know where else to take them. We didn't use the pool the whole time we were there because there we hardly any sun lounges. We made the best of a bad situation and me and my partner just kept arguing because it was stressful and upsetting. It was not a nice holiday or experience because of their lack of hospitality and consideration. Please don't stay here and take the risk as we are very easy people to please and even this hotel took one too many liberties. Collapse

We stayed at malibu park hotel for 1 week at the beginning of August and were disappointed from start to finish. We were so surprised as the hotel had pretty good reviews, however, when staying here we realised this was because people had upgraded and that we were staying in 'a studio apartment'. We checked in and we're advised it would be €15 (Non refundable) for a key to the safe in our room, which I would deem a necessity when abroad, so reluctantly paid. We were given a map and shown where our room was on it then left to find our room by ourselves- this proved to be difficult as it was midday, very hot and our room was located at the other side of the hotel, nobody was able to help with our luggage. When arriving at our room we discovered it was very very dated and a lot things required some TLC (see pictures). There was no air con in our room and later proved impossible to sleep. We went back to reception straight away and the man said he could get us a fan for €100 the next day! After refusing to pay steep fee, we asked if we could pay for an upgrade as we weren't happy with our room and it was not up to standard we expected when booking, we were told it was 'impossible' to upgrade as the hotel was fully booked. We went back to our room and tried to cope with the heat and spent as little time there as possible as it was so tired and old looking. That night at 1am in the morning it was unbearable and I went to reception again to ask for a fan. A different man who spoke no English gave me a fan and asked for €15 from me, I paid it in desperation and this contradiction in price only left me confused to the actual price and how they could have the audacity to attempt to charge me over x6 the price only a few hours earlier. There were no where near enough sun beds to cater for the people around the pool, causing people to queue from early morning and wait for them to be unchained. People were even reserving umbrellas first thing by wrapping their towels around them which I found unfair. So we payed to go into other hotels to use their facilities as they were much nicer and there was music etc. We paid for a studio apartment which had a cooker, a kettle and toaster. There was no microwave and we did not end up cooking anything as we didn't feel the kitchen was clean enough. There were constantly ants on the kitchen work tops and they were chipped and dirty. On check out we felt the man was very brief with us as we handed our keys over, seeming not bothered by the thought of us I wouldn't recommend this hotel at all and feel a lot of the excellent reviews have been written based on people being put in the new refurbished apartments (which I feel is down to luck). Sun beds ordered but did not come in the 15 days we were there. Staff all brill very friendly. Room old but fine beds very comfy. Need a fan in room it's roasting. Room had faults nails from previous guests in bedroom and bathroom still there when we left. No shade or clothes dryer on balcony. Food and drinks good at the pool bar. Not much going off at night around complex area we walked out to the beach or middle area for food. Spent 75 euros on beach Sun beds when we couldn't get Sun beds around pool. Going home tired due to early morning sunbed run Collapse
