A lovely time was had here. Very pleasant lobby with beautiful furniture and fresh flowers. Given our key card and made our way down to our room. Our room was 21. The room itself was huge, a large sitting room with fridge, settee and chair and a closet for the suitcases, which also housed the safe. The bathroom was ample with bath and shower, toilet and bidet and plenty of sundries, shampoo, soap, after sun etc. There were also plastic cups. The bedroom was equally huge with a large bed and a 10 foot triple wardrobe as well as chest of drawers and bedside tables and vanity mirror. The room was tastefully decorated and had shuttered doors that opened on to a large shared terrace. The terrace had a small table and two reclining rocker type chairs, although someone with limited mobility may find these hard to get in or out of. This area was a massive suntrap for most of the day . The terrace although looked towards the gardens retaining wall, was still pretty as it was covered with Virginia creeper, and a wall or plant pots separated you from your neighbour, though we had no quibbles about this. Walk along the terrace to the right and there was an enclosed courtyard with plants surrounding you where you could also sit or partake in a little exercise on the slightly used gym equipment. Walk to the left at it took you to some steps that led you into the garden. The garden was a decent size with plenty of plants and orange trees which smelt beautiful and there were a few places to sit. Listening to the birds sing all day was divine, and watching the bats at night was also lovely. The train line runs close to the hotel, but you hardly noticed it. Food was served in the main dinning room and breakfast covered almost everyones taste, hot, cold, sweet or savory. Dinner was also taken here with the menu available for you to peruse as you walked in, which changed daily. You were asked by your waiting staff if you wanted water or an alcoholic drink and there was plenty of booze to choose from. Ok the drinks were a tad on the dearer side, but if you aren't big drinkers and had a bottle of wine, the staff would save it for you til the following evening. Food choices were good and if there was something about it that you didn't like they would oblige and leave it off, eg too much cheese. You started with salad then 3 more courses followed. If you were hungry during the daytime there was a snack bar terrace which ovelooked the swimming pool. There were two viewing terraces, unfortunately the one was close as it was being renovated. considering the hotel was on a busyish road, the noise wasn't that bad. This hotel was really close to the main road and close to the train station and a beautiful marina. All walking distance, although be mindful as the paths in places aren't very wide. All in all a great hotel and would definately come here again. Collapse

This hotel is really lovely. I have never really wanted to go to Italy but my wife has always fancied going so we decided to try it. We booked through Tui around 6 weeks before we travelled in April. We haven't done a package holiday for 16 years so, understandably, we were a little apprehensive. The on line booking was easy and having read trip Advisor reviews for this particular hotel, we went ahead and booked. Flights were great and on time and we had extra leg room seats both ways. When we arrived at the hotel I was amazed at how nice it was. Friendly reception staff got us checked in and our room was great. Large wardrobes and a very large, clean room. The view from our room was breathtaking, looking over towards Sorrento and the bay of Naples, as well as looking out over the beautiful gardens of the hotel from our large balcony which was equipped with two sun loungers. The sun was on our balcony from around 12pm till dusk so we did our sightseeing in the mornings and sat on the balcony with a bottle of wine all afternoon. Lovely unused pool area with plenty of sunbeds. My only slight criticism is that the bathroom, although nicely furnished and with loads of hot water, was painted in a sort of waterproof paint in army green. This was well worn and really needs looking at. There is a Michelin star restaurant in the hotel with 5 tables and we didn't know until the 4ty day and Tui don't advertise it. There is a roof top Martini bar due to open this month (May) and a further roof terrace. Our room was a garden/sea view room on the 4th floor (401) and was great. The food at the hotel is great, breakfast is pretty much continental with a hot plate of small sausages, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, scrambled and hard boiled eggs and bacon. The evening meal consisted of a salad starter and then 3 courses of pasta, fish, meat dishes and a choice of 2 desserts - it was all lovely and the waiting staff were friendly and efficient.]On the last evening we ended up with caviar! Wine starts at around 26 Euros but, if you go to the top of the road and turn left, there is a wine shop on the right where you can get wine from stainless steel vats for a couple of Euros. We purchased 4.5 litres of different wines for 10 Euros 80, including buying the bottles! The location of the hotel is long a quiet street, set back from the road and there are bars and restaurants in the locality. pretty much everything is cheaper than the UK except fuel. Don't miss the opportunity to stay here, it is worth every penny and the views are spectacular from the garden view rooms. We went to Vesuvius, Herculaneum, Sorrento and Positano using our legs and the local trains/buses. It is really easy to get around and there is a train station a few minutes walk from the hotel. We worked out that to go to Vesuvius under our own steam cost less than half of what Tui were charging and the same applied to other trips. Watch out for beggars on the trains, they send children through the train with a begging bowl and ghetto blaster - just ignore them and they don't bother you. Long review this is but there is just so much good to say about this place! Collapse

We had an amazing holiday, touring all over the Amalfi coast, Capri, Ana Capri, visiting Pompeii and Herculaneum and a tour of Naples. The hotel was a great base, a ten minute walk into Sorrento. Hotel is very pleasant, with beautiful decor everywhere. Very clean and very comfortable lounges, bar and restaurant. The food is very good. Lots of choice every night for dinner and for breakfast. Local produce all cooked on the premises. Lovely gardens and pool area. All drinks in the area are expensive in the restaurants. Expect to pay £23(cheapest) for a bottle of wine or €6 for a beer or glass of wine. Cocktails €8 to €10. There is a well stocked bar at the hotel, no loud music! Just lovely soft, quiet piano music or jazz. This hotel is very traditional, it is very suitable for couples young and old! The staff are all very attentive, polite and kind. We were spoiled every night at dinner! The waiters take time to explain the menus or suggest wine that will match the food or just chat about our day. Thanks for a great holiday! Collapse

A lovely hotel, the staff are so friendly and very helpful. The rooms are cleaned every day and the pool has a lifeguard. The garden with its orange groves is a real treat! A short walk to the sea front (cliff top) and an amazing view of Capri. A great location for exploring the area. We used Lexi Travel in Sorrento for excursions who were very helpful and good value for this area. The pool was very cold in April but this was the start of the season. Top spots to visit - Marina Grande in Sorrento, Piano di Sorrento (the old harbour and watch club for a coffee), Amalfi and Positano by boat, St Agata and villa Angelina. the train station is close by if you get off at Sant'Agnello but not all trains stop. The road to Sorrento Corsa Italia is VERY busy and the pavements are 'uneven/ disappear' at points - I would not want to walk with a buggy!. There is a longer way around and a great cut through is a lovely lemon grove on route. Collapse
