I had a opportunity to stay in that hotel for one night. Me and my boyfriend had an amazing time. The room was so comfortable with the beautiful town view on side that You can watch sunset from your bed! We were lucky to stay there on Friday when from 5 till 7 pm we enjoyed our drinks paying just half price (offer 2 for 1 coctails every Friday - im sure will be there more offen ;)) But my number one was dinner in the restaurant. The food is absolutely spectacular! (we had pigeon breast, salmon and cod) - great taste, well presented and i would say very intresting dishes. 5 stars for the Chef! We definitely comming back to try the rest of the dishes from the menu. Service were wonderful as well, thanks for very fridndly service for Dawid and Kacper. Looking forward to staying with you in the future. Collapse

The location of this hotel is fantastic and the staff very friendly, HOWEVER, the air con in the bar is set soooooo low (cold), it is uncomfortably cold (fortunately I’ve been here before and came equipped with plenty of layers), to the point where you feel distinctly ‘frozen’ out. In addition, they have introduced a DJ, presumably to add some atmosphere to an otherwise pretty dull bar, HOWEVER...the music is a couple of decibels higher than it should be so you can barely have a conversation and the bar staff really struggle to understand / hear your order. Perhaps, the hotel would find more success with their bar if they turned up the air con to a more welcoming temperature and turned down the music so that we could enjoy the bar and the company we keep! We booked in here for an overnight stay as we were attending the Garter Day service. We have had good previous experience with McDonald Hotels so usually trust them. We booked dinner, bed and breakfast as we knew we would not have time to find somewhere else to eat. We did get a very nice welcome from a lovely lady who greeted us on reception Sunday evening, booked in and it was clean and a very nice room as we expect from McDonalds but the service we then received from the majority of the staff let us down very badly. We headed down for dinner Sunday evening and it was explained to us that we could have 2 courses as part of the DBB package. She pointed out certain dishes on the menu which if we ordered would carry a supplement - this is normal so no surprise there. We ordered our 2 courses each and bottle of wine - which we knew would carry a surcharge so no surprise when a bill arrived at the end of the evening. We were charged £80 for dinner for 2. On questioning the answer was they had taken the £50 - for 2 - off the bill. We were responsible for the balance. This had certainly not been explained as we arrived. We booked DBB expecting dinner to be included. The following morning we went down to breakfast. It wasn't packed but the staff did not have time for us. We were waved to a table and then left to it. Nothing explained to us so we looked at the menu on the table. We are used to Premier Inns serving breakfast hot and fresh to the table so called someone over to place our order who laughed at us and told us the buffet is over there. No problem having a buffet but it would have been nice to have that pointed out on our arrival. It was however completely unacceptable to have been laughed at. We had to call somebody else over to order coffee. We headed upstairs to get ready for the day. Packed our bags and went to check out. We left our bags with them as we knew we couldn't take them into the castle with us. At the end of the day we headed back to collect the bags and handed in our ticket. She came back with the wrong set of bags - which we could very easily have claimed. We explained these were not ours and got a 'huff and a puff' reaction to having to go back. Overall we have been left feeling very disappointed and let down by a chain we have previously trusted. The rooms are lovely, clean and with comfortable beds but with service like this I think we will probably go elsewhere in future. Collapse

Lovely food in the restaurant and David was very hospitable. Didn't like the music playing though! Reception staff need to smile and be more welcoming. Matthew on the door is a complete gem and asset to the hotel and full of smiles and very helpful. Our room was great value for money. Sadly parking at the hotel is quite expensive £35 night. The gentleman (sadly I did not get his name, tall man??) who took our bags to our car and collected our car was also very helpful and friendly (thank you) Would happily stay again. Collapse

We have stayed at the Macdonald several times and that in its self should tell you how good it is, great location and the front of house staff are amazing (particulary the doorman) Rooms in general are of a high standard, well furnished and decor very nice, only on one occasion did we ask to be moved due to the bathroom not being cleaned when we were presented the room, the lady on reception could not be more apologetic and it was no problem for her to move us, not only did she move us but she upgraded our room to a suite which was beautiful (as we had previously stayed in one before) The hotel bar is just a great place to be for either pre dinner drinks or for drinks after an afternoons shopping, or indeed for a late night drink after a night out, the seating is really comfortable, the service is exceptional and the bar nibbles are really good. If you visit Windosr then please book yourself into this hotel, it is without doubt the best hotel in Windsor Collapse
